Okay, this was deep in a 'I've-just-walked-out-of-the-cinema-and-I-don't-know-whats-real-anymore' way. I'm not even sure if the horrors in this video ARE actual horrors or true beauty. Neither do I know that anything seen is hellish, or utopian. It's pure creativity. Bravo.
I think you have stumbled upon the “two sides of the same coin” expression, with this piece, and I love how the artist hid it SO WELL. Like it feels as if you took 🔥 and 💧 put one as yin and the other yang. However, we have horror/beauty as the yin and yang here, but the artist stripped away the obvious lines of separation that a yin and yang, heads or tails, heaven or hell, etc. would have and instead made it into moments and periods of time we can view throughout this story.
This felt like embracing your nightmares and it was the strangest comfort I have ever felt. That no matter how scary it seems it's all going to be okay eventually.
That really gets me, because distortion is a theme in this piece. That subtle, distorted shadow represents what's to come, but is quickly revealed to be reality.
Ikr lol I saw this right when it dropped & it has stuck with me ever since. His music is also quite stunning & is what I was originally here for. This production is an absolute game changer for the typical confines of most artist’s minds. Horrifically Heavenly & disgustingly beautiful. Never seen another artist capture this complete mind fuck of a marriage quite so elegantly. Absofuckinglutely fascinating.
Pat, this is otherworldly. You’re music can be the soundtrack for every single emotion we humans have, and it’s blissfully and artistically used in this film. Kudos and hana hou!
This is enchanting. The masterful storytelling shows a deeper trauma and a path to escape. The beautiful virtual effects add to the story in a way that pure realism never could. The vulgarity and surealist qualities paired with the sublte beauty and gentle music create an enigmatic piece of pure genius. This is truly a work of art that should be more well known.
This is the closest metaphorical representation of what I have been through in the past 6 years. This video is incredible. Just incredible. I lost my words now. Thank you for making it ❤❤
Is there an Oscar category for this? It’s a short film. It has to qualify for something. Pat - this song is in its own category. It’s one of the most beautiful pieces of music I’ve ever heard.
Looks like the perfect representation of an Ego Death. In the beginning, she is witnessing herself becoming more twisted and unhuman. She is being faced with the darkest parts of herself. You can see the fear in her eyes yet she remains to face it. She's not just accepting but allowing it to consume her. I feel like her struggling on the floor is the fight within herself. The descent is the rebirth of who she is. The people that we see with alien faces might be the people she has affected in a negative way. Now, they too spread more darkness. In the end, her words are transformed to nurture, grow, and sustain life. I think the being represents the battle within herself will never be over. Beautifully done!! This will stick with me forever.
That was so Creepy, but Beautiful in the same sense. It made me feel this overwhealming emptiness that not many things have ever touched upon. I remember feeling it when I first watched The Blair Witch Project in the theatre and walking home with my friends feeling like I just watched something truly frightning. I've watched a lot of stuff, but to truly be frightning is very hard to acheive. Bravo to Martin and Actve Child for that untouchable collaberation! I still don't understand how something can be so utterly disturbing and hauntingly beautiful at the same time. Amazing.
Jung psychology of the shadow self in the midst of the most artistically inspiring video and music... head over heels in love with this. My new nightly remedy.
This piece of art very accurately captures the feelings I had a few years ago when I was at rock bottom of debilitating anxiety. Frequently getting nightmares of world ending doom like scenarios with my body frozen with fear in the night. Difficult to watch but absolutely brilliantly captures those feelings.
A bud of mine send this to me, he was in coma for almost a year and said this is the nearest of what having a Fever Dream is, and man, now i understand what he gone thru
in my opinion this is a really unique portrayal of death. as you get closer to death, you fear the unknown, and you are afraid of it because you dont know what is going to happen or what to expect. that is why you are disgusted by death and you are afraid of it. but at the end, when your spirit leaves your body, calmness comes and eventually everything is in harmony again. i think it is really beautiful.
Definitely, my interpretation as well. After being profoundly traumatized as a child upon learning of death (my mothers opinion of it anyway) &, being told I would never see any of the people I loved again ever (by my narc mother) I was completely shocked & devastated bc never seeing my family the ppl I loved was the worst possible thing I could think of occurring ever. I was traumatized about that until I was about 25 & let my mind start wondering. After much soul searching, deliberation & meticulously observing all coding, I can safely say my journey thus far has shown me that death is actually our birth & our energy is eternal. Just ready to find the others lol we’ll all make our way home again. The key is to respell.
That’s one hell of a way to astral travel. Reminded me of what an alien abductee may go through. Or A.I. gone wrong. Dark but visually beautifully creative and talented.
Originally came for the video, but came back for the song/music. So haunting and beautiful and jarring at the same time. Color meeee in blah blah purple orchid core....(I think) Is there lyrics anywhere? Can someone post as reply or link to it. Thanks.
So hell if I know what this is supposed to be about but my honest, visceral reaction to some of the later visuals just kinda made me think of someone dying but remaining aware as their body, their molecules, their essence, returns to the earth as a sort of primordial ooze (the slimy uh... stuff around 4:50) and into the rivers and oceans. There's an undeniable birth theme throughout the video too, so perhaps part of them returns to humanity in the form of a newborn. But then the ending shots of a hand dipping into the river, and the woman's face waking up in the mountain suggests that this person "wakes up" finding out that for the most part, her carbon has been distributed into a natural landscape. But I'm sure it's all meant to be super subjective, so that's just my takeaway.
This is absolutely stunning! Keep up the Incredible work. You deserve significantly more views and the recognition that comes along with it. Mikkel Hansen and your team...outstanding work!

That Hand shot at 1:10 is amazing
That's what I thought as well - a premise of what is about to come next...
@@Featinwe It looks so creepy but then is revealed as being realistic.
I thought the same. What looks ordinary may seem frightening, if you just change the perspective.

This has to be one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen.
IMAGINE an Active Child + Jonsi collaboration!? That would be beautiful.
This is like a visual representation of a weird dream you had that you can't describe to anybody.
Best description of what I just saw
I did a 5x dose of edibles the other day. This is pretty much what I saw.

way to capture a trip. it would be cool to see a color edited version, i bet that would be nuts and amazing.
Wow. I’m so sad this is under appreciated, it deserves a lot more attention because my god this is some insane and well crafted art
Wow, I haven't seen something like this since Chris Cunningham did music videos for Aphex Twin.
Fucking AMEN dude...seriously I have not been this moved by a music video since Cunningham's work with AFX
Disturbingly haunting! ! Deep.

Just caught a glimpse on Off the Air and came to say this is a fucking masterpiece.

That's a true motion art piece. Great job. That is the kind of dream sequence or psychotic break I would like to see in a movie.
This is criminally underrated!
The exacting approach of this art is impeccable. Hats off to the entire production team and what a vision Martin. Hawt damn!

there are all kinds of phases and visuals during a psychedelic trip, and there is definitely a phase where the visuals turn into this for a bit...

Awesome work. The true masterpiece.

That was genuinely amazing.
Wow 😱 it somehow reminded me a little bit on the Annihilation movie. Great job
Thought the same thing. Even more so because in the books, the biologist becomes part of the land in Area X.
