I know what being resistant to an antibiotic for exampl is. Are you talking about the same kind of resistance here? If so, that means either the person decides to stop using it or the dose is continuously increased to achieve result sought. Would like to know which is it. Thank you.
I'm starting to become resistant after 20 years, needing higher doses for the same effect. Next time my practitioner is going to try a different neuromodulator which she says has had great results for people with resistance. Not sure of the name though,

The tracking Fedex facility says it is returning the shipment to the sender. Karam MD has gone completely silent. I will not hesitate to sue. I am alarmed when people get poorly injected Botox and end up with Spock eyebrows-unnaturally raised at the arch. When you smile you end up looking angry instead of happy. This happened to me and when I went back I told my injector about it and she injected in a different way to avoid that awful result.
I have been only getting mine once a year for the past 3 years same injector every time. I just turned 35 this year. This last time my injector hit a vein and it was pretty bad. I’m very very worried about this happening again. I was just in the verge of going in every 4 months now I’m scared to do it ever again.
It was a very worrisome cascade of events after the appointment. To start- during the appointment the nurse mentioned I was bleeding a lot. She then said I had developed a hematoma. She, without warning, took her thumb and pushed it against my forehead popping the hematoma. That was surprising and painful. She told me I would likely bruise and to ice the area. I wasn’t worried leaving the appointment because she told me it would heal. The next two weeks the vein in my forehead turned dark blue. It extended from my nose all the way up to my hair line and branched off mid way into another section. It was very blue and bulging. Make up would not cover the discoloration and it was noticeable from a distance so I was not only self conscious but worried about blood supply to my face. It would throb when I touched it. I called the office two weeks later because the botox hadn’t taken effect on half my face and I wanted her to see what happened to the vein. She told me to wait another two weeks. After that time the vein color started to fade- but now, instead of it bulging, it completely collapsed. I could see an indentation across my face the whole track of the vein. It was finally time for me to go to my next appointment and the nurse who did my injection was not there. I saw another nurse. They looked and felt around the vein and said she thought it was ok. Fast forward it has been about 5 months and I can no longer visually see any changes to my vein. My forehead looks like it did before the whole event. The only lasting impact is when my husband puts his forehead against mine, I can feel the vein throbbing and feel building pressure and it’s uncomfortable/ slightly painful. I don’t know what to do as anytime I tried to explain what happened the other nurses would cut me off in defense of the injector saying it could happen to any injector. I never blamed her- I was honestly to nice about this whole situation and have been very patient waiting all these months for it to heal, only calling the office twice during this time. I only wanted to be heard because I feel like something bad happened. The office never once called me after the initial event to check on me and I have I feeling it’s not even on my file that it happened. I truly loved how botox made my face look so much more youthful and rested but now I’m scared to go back and disappointed in the lack of concern from the medical staff. Seems they only care about getting people in to make a profit.
Dr Karam, I had a plastic surgeon once give me Botox - he froze my face, and when I came back 5 months later to try again, he said that he had to inject that much because if you didn’t inject enough to “freeze” the muscles, Botox wouldn’t work - he said you can’t soften wrinkles with smaller doses. It’s only one or the other. This confused me as I had had it done before (I’d lived in another state) and had never been frozen like that. I am curious your thoughts on this. This surgeon is known in the state I live in now for botox but my experience was he used too much.
Thank you! So helpful and interesting information ❤ I love listening to you Dr Amir)! Would you please also explain us if all that biorevitalization and mesotherapy, plasmatherapy do really help skin ?

I tried doing it three to four times a year, and it made me frozen? Cut back to twice and now every 8 months. Is it possible some keep it in the skin longer?. I do use a good skin regimen since I started Botox so maybe that’s why I need it less. Yes ,skilled professionals are key! No one even notices. I get a little eyebrow lift, & 11. Bonus, my kaleidoscope headaches go away.
Thank you so much for this great video on Botox Dr. Karam. I won't be getting botox because I don't like needles but it is great to share with my family and friends. It is very educational and informative and answers lots of questions on this cosmetic procedure. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. We appreciate the newletters and skincare school very much.
If you want to try this filler I am using, it's like a needle-less botox that makes my face feel tightened up and firm. But it might be pricy to some. I gifted them to my close friends and they all love it, they don't even do botox anymore.
Hi Dr. K. You mentioned neurotoxins. People also need to do their research on what neurotoxins from Botox, and the others you mentioned that contain this, can do to the brain. Not good.
Less botox in the brow was really informative. I think over the past 2 years, I have had zero to none injected into the brow. Now that I'm 3 weeks post-op from surgery, hopefully I will not need botox for a long while.
Could you make a video regarding trapezius botox? I am contemplating on getting some in my shoulder due to the hypertrophy of my trapezius muscles, which has resulted from chronic computer work and poor posture. Despite making efforts to adopt healthier habits, my trapezius muscles have not decreased in size. I already have broad shoulders, and it only makes them look bigger. I'm interested in gaining more insight into the effectiveness and the potential risks associated with trapezius botox or "trap tox". I would deeply appreciate your opinions on the matter.
Great video! I don't do Botox. I love having movement in my mid 30s. I just use SPF, eat enough animal based proteins and omega 3 fatty rich foods, avoid alcohol and avoid too much sugar. It's magic! 🪄 combined with gentle cleanser and moisturizer
This video was really interesting Dr Amir, thank you. I am from Scotland. 39 years old. I am lucky enough to have good genes and naturally look younger for my age however I have deep static wrinkles in my forehead. Been getting botox since I was 32. I have noticed that it lasts longer than 4 months. Usually I can get away with 5 months. I have a great nurse practitioner who does mine. Love your content. I am curious why the botox last longer if you've been getting it for years.
I am an adult, very much in love with my partner.... a mother to my lovely son. However I love his face and demeanour so much, his eyes, his lips his whole beautiful face. So much so, I find I have to switch off, as I feel embarrassed for having my head turned.... Does anyone else feel like this? Its ridiculous, but it wont go away...
so do i need botox in forehead I have a heavy brow, always have since i was very young the lady put 10 units in my forehead and i did not like it seem to me my eyes looked more droppy , next month when I go back Im just going to get in the 11 lines which are not even that bad...but I want my brows lifted a little too...I have not one wrinkle in my forehead
There are many reasons people become resistant to botox. Could be that you metabolize it quickly or you've developed antibodies, there are multiple reasons.
@@CH-vm6cq Actually should switch to Xeomin. That's the only one you cannot technically get resistant to as it doesn't have any extra proteins attached to it.
I had the first generation of botox 33 years ago😂 ( i was 37) always had those 11s as i have sensitive to sun eyes, didnt always wear my 🕶️, so squinting was the origin. Now the lines are so deep they are never relaxed. I have had botox in 10 yrs as it is so expensive to keep up. Retired now so doing the best skin care of my life - RetinA, Amino acids, hyaluronic serums, u name it. Skin glows, but i am 71 and i own it!!!
Hi Doctor. I have been going to the same office for a long time, but there are continually new injectors. The last time that I went, my right upper eye lid began to lay on the lower eyelid. it has been the most uncomfortable feeling. I am an aesthetician and have been since 2003. I take extremely good care of my skin. I stay out of the sun and have good genetics with an Italian olive complexion. I’ve been getting Botox since I was 45 and absolutely loved the results and lift it gave to my eyes. I don’t understand what this injector did that caused that to happen. It has now been six months and I’m still getting strange feelings in my right eye where at times it will feel somewhat normal and then the upper lid will drop and touch the lower lid. Is possible that a nerve was damaged during the injection? Also, is injecting into the eyebrow a “no zone“? Any advice would be so greatly appreciated. What I’m looking for is my eyes to be lifted a reduction in my crows feet as well as a softening of the lines in my forehead. I have also had filler in my cheeks, nasal labial fold, as well as a little bit of lip injection to reduce lines in the lips. My goal is to look natural and enhance my features without somebody looking at me and knowing I’ve had work done. Thank you so much. I enjoy your educational videos tremendously.
Great video. Do you have concerns if someone doesn't overdo it with dosing and only gets it done every 4 months, but has it done for many years? Wondering if there are concerns using botox in same area for extended period of time.
Using Botox every 4 months over many years, as long as it's not overdone, is generally considered safe. However, prolonged and frequent use in the same area may lead to tolerance buildup or muscle atrophy, potentially affecting long-term effectiveness and muscle function. It depends on your tolerance, how your body metabolizes it, and if you follow proper post op protocol. So basically, it depends on the person.
Blisters on the forehead after Botox procedure. Is this normal? Because I had it done by two doctors and with the first doctor I didn’t have any blisters.
Hi I’m 62 and Botox and fillers aren’t doing it for me on had it a couple of years but never been satisfied with the results I had secret pro needles last year and didn’t really see any results neck and face. I lived in southern Spain for 6 years and ❤ the sun I have orange peel around my chin and lines in my cheeks any suggestions please

What are some red flags to watch out for with the pro!? I’m looking into this for prevention but I don’t want to be botch. My forehead and maybe my 11. I now wake up with a frown that even I can feel it.
Do you do telemedicine consults? Im in Las Vegas and would love to speak 10-15 mins. I know there is a cost for your time and I'm ok with that. I'm 72. BTW-- how is Mrs. Karam.
I am a 76-year old female and have an eye tic that I tried to have addressed with Botox. My doctor suggested I see an Opthomologist for the treatment, but unfortunately, he injected too much (twice the required amount he admitted); and now I cannot close my lids completely, I have dry and droopy eyes, and nothing can be done except wait!! The tic is still very present. Do you think I should have seen a different type of practitioner? Thank you. Your advice would be appreciated.
I had Botox put in my jaw recently to stop clenching while sleeping. I went to see someone new and I thought it felt like she was to far forward on my cheek instead of my jaw and now sure enough my jaw still hurts every morning and I can’t smile and look stupid and kind of sarcastic when I try to smile. They had me in for a follow up and documented it but now I’ve been arguing back and forth with them that I should get my money back as I did not receive the treatment I requested and paid for nothing I wanted not to mention the negative effects. They refuse to give me any money back and are offering limited free injections but I don’t want to go back there for injections now. Am I wrong to think they should refund my money? I’ve he’s these injections for clenching before and never had a problem
Hello, I’m 70 yr. Old & I had a brow Lift, upper Bleph, deep plane & neck lift 28 days ago. I noticed that one eyelid was lower Dr. said it was just the swelling but it didn’t get better. Now he’s saying that looks like my brow has dropped & wants to do Botex injections. What’s your opinion about correcting this? I thought that Botox freezes the muscles that are supporting my brow?
Thanks doctor. I started using retinol since two months because of you but I don't know if I should stop using it in summer. can I use it all year round? Please tell me. Thanks
:( I'm sorry this is happening for the outrageous prices he charges his results should be pristine at minimum has he addressed your concerns in person? I would expect that at the very least hope it heals well and quickly
@@dramirkaram I appreciate your response. I will book appointment at your Dan Diego office I'm in yucapia CA the drive seems worth it I have had Botox and Xeomin I prefer Xeomin but still have not been completely satisfied only had it done 3 times total. I know I will love the results if I can find the right injector.. I'm hoping to find that at your office..
Great info!!! Had to go to a new injector and I had bruising I've not had before. I was happy with the results tho. Is bruising normal? Took like a week to heal.
Yes there are a lot of reasons that people bruise after botox. it could be because of the way it was injected or a whole bunch of other reasons including what you ate that day and if you drank alcohol recently.
Had it done for the first time and she did a little bit. She said I don’t have any static lines so we’re in the preventative stage. She said no to forehead Botox because I have heavy hooded eyes. She said it would make it worse. So she did some on the side of the eyes and in between my eyes. Also some in the marionette lines because it’s not laxity it’s overactive. I’m in my mid 40s and credit wearing sunscreen every day, dove soap and witch hazel. Not kicked in yet but we’ll see how it looks.
Btw, why do they charge so much for each unit?! It’s microscopic units and if you get like 80 on your face, that’s almost $1000! I mean idk how to keep my Botox up bc I don’t have a grand every 4 months. Wb nice if Botox were longer lasting. Sigh.
ok maybe 60 lol. They do like 30 just for your brows and 11’s. So crows feet on both sides is about 20 each. And smile lines about 10-15. It adds up so fast is all I know lol
I just know that when I got dysport for forehead and elevens it was 75 units and dysport you use more units than with Botox, but idk. Haha. It is expensive!
@@bjornolson21 right?? if Botox was a little bit more longer lasting than it may be worth it but depending on what you want 2 to 3000 years is a lot of money
I recent;y got very sick from 46 units and a top up of Dysport... Vertigo, dizzy, ear buzzing, unable to feel emotions of love and well being, anxiety, adreneline rushes upon waking and in the evenings. It was the worst 2 months of my life I felt like a zombie.
What if my skin is so thin and dry already, that I do need to freeze my face in order to prevent getting static wrinkles? I’m 37, started in my 30s and I already got a static “11 wrinkle”, although I’m getting my Botox every 5-6 months. Thanks!
If you're experiencing thin and dry skin and are concerned about static wrinkles despite Botox treatments every 5-6 months, it's essential to address underlying skin health. Consider incorporating hydrating and nourishing skincare products into your routine to improve skin texture and elasticity. Additionally, discuss your concerns with a dermatologist or skincare professional who can provide personalized recommendations and treatments tailored to your specific needs.

Great educational video! 👍🏽
This was such an amazing and informative video. Thank you so much 😊
Hi Dr. K. You mentioned neurotoxins. People also need to do their research on what neurotoxins from Botox, and the others you mentioned that contain this, can do to the brain. Not good.
Drs refuse to acknowledge that botulinum injections have these side effects that can ruin a persons life.
Great video! Lots of wonderful information. Thank you!
Thank you for all the information ❤
Less botox in the brow was really informative. I think over the past 2 years, I have had zero to none injected into the brow. Now that I'm 3 weeks post-op from surgery, hopefully I will not need botox for a long while.
Nice!
Hi Dr. Amir, I’ve heard of people getting a “flat forehead” over time from botox usage. Is there any truth to that?
If I use Alluzience that lasts 5-6 months, is it ok long term? What time should I redo it? Every 6-7 months?
Could you make a video regarding trapezius botox? I am contemplating on getting some in my shoulder due to the hypertrophy of my trapezius muscles, which has resulted from chronic computer work and poor posture. Despite making efforts to adopt healthier habits, my trapezius muscles have not decreased in size. I already have broad shoulders, and it only makes them look bigger. I'm interested in gaining more insight into the effectiveness and the potential risks associated with trapezius botox or "trap tox". I would deeply appreciate your opinions on the matter.
Its stupid because muscle is attractive. On males AND on females. I guarantee your traps are.not as big as mine
Masseter Dysport! It's the only thing that alleviates my pain from TMJ syndrome!! Period.
That's great you have had such success!
Would love you opinion video on trap tox!
so if I have 2static lines they will never go away with botox? They're not very deep but they are static
Always Wonderful doc!!
I am really afraid to look like some stars,or like « fish » with one expression only; it s scary….!
Anything that replaces Botox? Hialuronic acid? For wrinkles eyes, between eyebrows?
The mechanism of action is incorrectly explained
I am an adult, very much in love with my partner.... a mother to my lovely son. However I love his face and demeanour so much, his eyes, his lips his whole beautiful face. So much so, I find I have to switch off, as I feel embarrassed for having my head turned.... Does anyone else feel like this? Its ridiculous, but it wont go away...
Dr Karim can chronic medicine like anticoagulants and Euthyrox affect the effects or longevity of the Botox.
Amazing great information 👍
so do i need botox in forehead I have a heavy brow, always have since i was very young the lady put 10 units in my forehead and i did not like it seem to me my eyes looked more droppy , next month when I go back Im just going to get in the 11 lines which are not even that bad...but I want my brows lifted a little too...I have not one wrinkle in my forehead

I also stop taking vit A, D, E, K a week before the injection to reduce bruising and improve the outcome
How long do you wait before you start your vitamins

I have become resistant to Botox. I haven’t done it too often neither too long. Why is it? And is there anything I can do about it?
Switch to dysport
There are many reasons people become resistant to botox. Could be that you metabolize it quickly or you've developed antibodies, there are multiple reasons.
@@CH-vm6cq Actually should switch to Xeomin. That's the only one you cannot technically get resistant to as it doesn't have any extra proteins attached to it.
TY Dr K 👍 also be!ieve healthy eating is key to healthy skin 🙂💜
I had the first generation of botox 33 years ago😂 ( i was 37) always had those 11s as i have sensitive to sun eyes, didnt always wear my 🕶️, so squinting was the origin. Now the lines are so deep they are never relaxed. I have had botox in 10 yrs as it is so expensive to keep up. Retired now so doing the best skin care of my life - RetinA, Amino acids, hyaluronic serums, u name it. Skin glows, but i am 71 and i own it!!!
love it
I totally agree
Blisters on the forehead after Botox procedure. Is this normal? Because I had it done by two doctors and with the first doctor I didn’t have any blisters.
Botox for myoklunus im ear. Could you talking about it?
Hi I’m 62 and Botox and fillers aren’t doing it for me on had it a couple of years but never been satisfied with the results I had secret pro needles last year and didn’t really see any results neck and face. I lived in southern Spain for 6 years and ❤ the sun I have orange peel around my chin and lines in my cheeks any suggestions please

What are some red flags to watch out for with the pro!? I’m looking into this for prevention but I don’t want to be botch. My forehead and maybe my 11. I now wake up with a frown that even I can feel it.
I only did it once. Idk if it is just me but around 2 months the Botox stop working.
Do you do telemedicine consults? Im in Las Vegas and would love to speak 10-15 mins. I know there is a cost for your time and I'm ok with that. I'm 72. BTW-- how is Mrs. Karam.
How do you build muscle in your face
I am a 76-year old female and have an eye tic that I tried to have addressed with Botox. My doctor suggested I see an Opthomologist for the treatment, but unfortunately, he injected too much (twice the required amount he admitted); and now I cannot close my lids completely, I have dry and droopy eyes, and nothing can be done except wait!! The tic is still very present.
Do you think I should have seen a different type of practitioner?
Thank you. Your advice would be appreciated.
Try a different injector
My husband gets it done for his twitching eye.
Works beautiful
He’s spot on about this ❤
I had Botox put in my jaw recently to stop clenching while sleeping.
I love Botox Dr. please don’t make me frightened 😅
Can botox be used in nasolabial and marionette lines too?
Thanks doctor. I started using retinol since two months because of you but I don't know if I should stop using it in summer. can I use it all year round? Please tell me. Thanks
Yes you can use it all year round! Just ensure you are diligent with the SPF!
It doesn’t make you any more or any less likely to burn
Is infrared light bad too?
How Long migraine botox last? I have dropped eyebrows for 6 months
Please give me advice on my scar from the vertical lift. It looks awful 😞
Laser
@@peacelove7437 how soon? He gave me a pretty ugly scar
:( I'm sorry this is happening
for the outrageous prices he charges his results should be pristine at minimum
has he addressed your concerns in person?
I would expect that at the very least
hope it heals well and quickly
I'm noticing he's not replying to you in youtube. He's replying to other people's comments but not yours :( this is not good
@@NgG-g2n no, he won’t talk to me. Outrageous.
Doctor can you tell me what injector at your Murrieta office have you trained,? I want to make appointment
I only have one injector at my office in San Diego
@@dramirkaram I appreciate your response. I will book appointment at your Dan Diego office I'm in yucapia CA the drive seems worth it I have had Botox and Xeomin I prefer Xeomin but still have not been completely satisfied only had it done 3 times total. I know I will love the results if I can find the right injector.. I'm hoping to find that at your office..
Самая лучшая красота это естественая..
How can I make an appt with you?
Dr. Karma can you recommend a skilled professional in NJ?
Unfortunately I do not know any.
I start getting botox to help me with sweating hot flashes.. and the lines in my forehead..
Wow that is great! Thanks for sharing.
Man I wish you were closer. 😢
Dr Karam, how much do you charge for botox?
Btw, why do they charge so much for each unit?! It’s microscopic units and if you get like 80 on your face, that’s almost $1000! I mean idk how to keep my Botox up bc I don’t have a grand every 4 months. Wb nice if Botox were longer lasting. Sigh.
You probably don’t need 80 units. That’s kinda a lot
ok maybe 60 lol.
Dr Karam is so damn fine
I recent;y got very sick from 46 units and a top up of Dysport... Vertigo, dizzy, ear buzzing, unable to feel emotions of love and well being, anxiety, adreneline rushes upon waking and in the evenings. It was the worst 2 months of my life I felt like a zombie.
I am so sorry to hear that! Thanks for sharing.
Always do one area at a time.
I’m 8 years out still suffering. First and only time. Dysport
Would Botox help on deep marionette lines. If so how much and where would you put it.
