I was getting extremely frustrated by how much I was touching the other strings. This video was extremely informative and helpful and got right to the point. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for making so many of your videos free of cost, including the entire course for beginners and the vibrato lessons. I am an absolute beginner, and am seriously committed to learning the violin, but can't afford classes as yet. You are a great help. Thank you again, so very much.
I thought it was the bridge's fault cuz the strings are somewhat on the same level and methinks that it's the reason why I kept hitting the strings. Thank you, online violin tutor. I'm indebted.
I've started learning, and these are great tips, especially the wrist one because I seem to be using the wrist to move the bow up and over (Or vice versa), and I never realized. I also find just slowing down helps me too, naturally I want to go faster, even with simple pieces like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, I want to play it like I know it in my head, but my bow play just isnt good enough, hopefully that will improve so I can work faster and the tempo wont sound so slo-mo, but, it's a lot cleaner, which when I get through it, I'm more content! :) I'll get there! ;)
so i can’t really switch strings that well because my fingers are slow , and my fingers stay on the string even when i’m switching strings , so it makes a scratchy/squeak noise. Can you help?
My daughter plays violin and it isn't going great and she's been playing for about 2 years now and she heading into the 7th grade so this is very helpful to her.
2 years to get to grade 7? that’s way too fast. when learning a new instrument 6 months to 1 year is usually necessary for the fundamentals. at least 3-6 months of learning to perfection before each grade.
