MY very first concert I ever saw was in my hometown of Toronto in 1977.It was E.L.O. backing up Carlos Santana .My older brother took me. He was and still is a huge Santana fan.I was 14 and blown away by these live bands. I remember for E.L.O.'S set the stage was totally dark and then out of the floor comes their space ship. You know the one from their album cover. Then the top opens and there they are playing away. You just can't replace memories like that... THANKS E.L.O.

It's summer 1981, I'm 25 and heading to the South of France in an old Ford Cortina Mk3 with the lovely Ransom twins and this is blasting out of the radio - what memories this song has for me. I spent the rest of my life with the twins.
An absolutely phenomenal tune! Never could quite understand why this didn't skyrocket to #1! And, the same is true for the album, "Time", which in my opinion is the band's best LP, and remains one of my all time favorites!
Saw them in Atlanta in the old Civic Auditorium in the early days, about '74 or '75. Had the strings and all and were awesome. Next to Paul McCartney, Jeff Lynne has the best rock and roll voice I've ever heard.

@@technerdbird You should really listen to one of the violinists on Roll Over Beethoven's promo from 1972/1973. He's wearing a cape. I think It's Mik Kaminski, not too sure but trust me he plays so fast that if he played any faster, the strings would have caught friction burns.

He had been sacked....Jeff Lynne didn't even go to Kelly's funeral. It all got very sad and unnecessary.
