Those prices are ridiculous it’s getting almost illegal to put that price on something they are getting for free
I agree. CBC News did a segment on them, regarding their insane prices. I hope they got the hint and start dropping.
Sadly, those prices are low compared to my VV. Dresses are $16.99 - $24.99. The low end tend to be Walmart & Shein items 🤦 at $16.99! I can go next door to Winners and get a new dress for $19.99! I prefer thrifted and vintage clothing, but the cost to thrift is getting outrageous!
I love that you made a “cool person pile”🤗
In my area I learned that back of house staff ie. sorters, pricers and stockers work until 2pm usually. After that its just maintaining the front of house in store ie. cleaning, returning items to shelves, and cashier. A lot of cut hours and reduced to part time jobs plus self check out. You might notice if the back area for staff is busy or empty at certain times of day to know the shifts for new stocking. I have resellers and thrift store workers in my family so you learn these little tips.
I love thrifting picture gold frames, books (those ones that you've watched a long time or classics!), a good graphic tshirt, and dresses too
The blue coat gave "Phoebe" vibes
I like to thrift vintage Disney sleeping bags or bedding because I turn them into jackets and dresses 😊
Monday when it opens you are just going to get what didn’t sell from the weekend. My favorite times to thrift are Wednesday and Friday after lunch
Yes, but the last time I went on a Monday it was stocked full and the best thrift I have had in years! I think it just depends on the store!
I also thrift intentionally. I have decided on a color pallette to create a more cohesive closet with my thrifted & vintage clothing. I am also very clear on my personal style.
Went thrifting yesterday & got 2 items - a cropped vintage blazer with embroidery for work and a khaki shaggy vintage vest❤. My color pallette is creams/browns, khaki, navy & dusty pink (with the odd pop of orange & yellow for dramatic flare). I don't wear accessories or makeup, so my clothing stands alone....
right now i’m on a MAJOR hunt for an antique dresser for my room! i’m also trying to find a new vintage desk and a wood bookshelf for my living room. also hoping to finding a big oval dining table! curating your home solely by thrifting takes a looong time but it’s so worth it!
Not sure where you live Hun, but have you checked out Mission Thrift Stores? Some have separate stores just with furniture, in addition to clothing and collectibles.
I actually never thrift with specific ideas in mind….I keep an open mind & only buy things that I absolutely love. Value Village’s prices are definitely nuts a lot of times, so it has to be a decent price too.
I’ve been having so much fun Thrifting, but I definitely think I’ve gone a little overboard. Next time I go thrifting I’m planning on not using a cart so I can only get it if I can comfortably hold it lol
A happy thrift day for me is finding linen: linen sheets, linen dresses, linen pants. I’m hooked. In most cases, I sew up something unique but sometimes I luck out and don’t have to alter anything. My latest find was a sheet set from which I made a maxi dress/caftan.
I agree, I am trying to also just get what I need. Some of those prices are crazy
Love this series you’re doing! I enjoy walking around the stores and just looking too! Especially with the prices these days! I can’t believe the prices on food lately too.. I noticed a lot price rises in the past week. It’s ridiculous!
I know you were in London not toooo long ago.. The LTC is the biggest waste of money in this city!
Doc Martens 😊 loved the granny sweater, the colors where so nice.
I love the idea of planting items for people 🥲
Yay so excited to see that you uploaded! I love your style and intentional thrifting!
oo tasha, since you're taking your gopro out on your thrift trips you could get a chest mount or clip mount for the gopro to free up your right hand. you said in the goodwill bin video that your left arm started to hurt so maybe that could help 😊 it just depends on how much it stands out cos you have said vlogging in public can sometimes be hard when there's people around
Nice to see you get out!❤
Love this! I want that stool for a plant stand ❤
Haeger pottery is always on my thrifting wishlist!!
That shacket was my dream 😍 Love the thrifting videos!
So happy to see you! I went thrifting a few weeks ago just because. Nothing I needed but I found 3 items at a good price I wanted and bought. This week I went because I thought I scored last time but like you, I ended up with nothing or if I liked it the price was outrageous. VV has gotten so expensive I hardly go in there anymore. I can’t wrap my head around the prices for used items, some are soiled, broken etc. I guess that is why they are a billion dollar company. I find myself going into the smaller thrift shops now, like Mission Thrift in St. Catherine’s, Saint Vincent DePaul, Evergreen Thrift, Niagara Falls. Prices are great and it seems I always find a treasure of sorts.
I am always on the hunt for some amazing jadite or milk glass cake trays from the 1960's or earlier.
I'm thrilled on the very rare occasion I find my dishes pattern because it is no longer in production and kind of expensive on eBay. Same goes for my silverware.
I'm looking for kitschy, cute vintage ceramic and glass trinkets right now for the table decor for my wedding, in pink and red colouring. Think Royal Dalton poodles, Kewpie dolls etc. As well as 80s style vases, I really want either a Swan or a Seashell. It's been so much work finding enough
A Glassybaby would be the thrill of a lifetime to me! The pink stone picture frame was awesome!
As someone that worked at a Savers/value village for three years I can explain why the store is so empty on a Monday (I think that's when you said you went) at opening. The production/backroom staff's shift starts an hour before opening and that time is spent "recycling" the floor. Which is slang for clearing out the merchandise that has been on the floor the longest to make room for new stock. On a Monday this is done extra thoroughly since the products on the sales floor had a weekend (the busiest time for a thrift store-more foot traffic means it'd been passed over many times) to be sold, and aren't likely to be bought. Those older items are then taken to the back to be resold to savers partners in other countries, or to be disposed of accordingly, sometimes destroyed if necessary.
Bless you! I was there a little later in the day on a Monday last month and there was SO much stock. I wonder why the difference!
I'm always on the lookout for funky wine glasses, usually cool colors!
OMG Tasha those Indian rayon dresses you found today (particuliary the patchwork one) would be my GOLD (top of my list ) in Australia, they are very hard to find and i just love them !!! I want to jump into the computer lol !! thanks for once again another amazing video !!
Also, prices are either a steal or too expensive for secondhand.. I get inflation and all that but it somewhat discourages buying secondhand..
My ultimate thrift list wish is to find a full size, decent shape, wicker peacock chair! They are so expensive whenever I find one online (even used/second hand). I'd love to find one for a decent price at the thrift!
My dreamy wish list is made of pretty whimsical dresses plus unique and beautiful ceramics.
@ThreadsObsessed thrifted that blue fur jacket in her newest video!! Im 99% sure it’s the exact same one you were looking at
the world is too small lol
I want to thrift the perfect pair of jeans! High waist, perfect mid wash, long enough inseam and flattering. Someday!
Hey there just just noticed the blue suede fur trimmed coat in your video is the same one that Threadsobsessed showed in her latest video. You guys must live close to each other as looks like you are both at the same Value Village. So cool!
Yes!!! I noticed that too right away!! Haha so cool 🧡💚😀
I LOVE that dog food dish. 😭😍 new subscriber :)
Oh, let me tell you, I have been on the hunt for lamps for our bedside tables and it has been hard! I'm not into grandma chic or straight cottagecore, I'm looking for something that's like subtly vintage, somewhere between mid century modern and dark academia.. I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to have to make my own (which is a whole other can of worms.. 😬). Also on the hunt for patio candle lanterns.
I love the Harley tshirt DIY project 🫵🏻👍🏻
A large ceramic tiger but they're like HUNDREDS online. If I found one in the thrift for cheap I'd die.
I got so excited when I saw you uploaded! ❤🥹
This makes me so happy!
I thrift weekly! I typically come home with 3/4 items!! I’ve gotten so picky, of course now I have a toddler so the clothes are great and I always find something😂
My thrift wish list is a quilt coat(unlikely I’ll find one at a thrift store 😭) and a ll bean field coat!
Love your thrifting videos!! 💕 Okay this is very random but I'm always on the hunt for vintage 1980s My Little Ponies for my collection. 😆🦄🦄🦄🛍️👍
I love the purple & black dress you didn’t get it was so beautiful my dream dress!
Same, that dress is gorgeous and I want it
My favorite time to thrift is in the morning on a Monday or Tuesday
Gold intricate frames and brass candle holders are always on my list
I’ve been on the lookout for some cute denim overalls that actually fit!
I rescue hand knit wool cardigans that other people pass up for being itchy etc. I knit so I know how to clean and care for them well and I wind up getting beautiful cable work for cheap that will last decades. I simply wear a long sleeve t-shirt under them. Our VV out here in Victoria, BC is also ridiculously priced with no clear reason for how they price. Best find my husband made in the VV in Halifax, NS was a large bag of star wars figures from the original release date back in the late 70's. 14 of them for 3.99
I CAN'T WITH THESE PRICES ANYMORE YOU GUYS
I love nice pots for plants and then i am looking for a nice set of wine glasses or clothes
My thrift manifest is a Tiffany lamp and vintage Tupperware always
My dream thrift find is a vintage inflatable terrarium stool ❤
I would be soooo stoked to find an Artipoppe baby carrier in a thrift store!
Persian rug runner 😊 found my Persian rug for lounge room for $50. Now I need the runner 🏃♀️
When Tasha uploads 🪇🪇🪇
I'm living for thrifted (or op-shoped if you live in Australia) maternity clothing! 9
You should do a video on pricing. Like what's good and what's not and in the different categories. I hear you day that price is rough but some people may not know why. If that makes sense. :) 😊
I’m trying to thrift red cowboy boots - they’ve been on my list forever. Also value village prices are ???? Insane. I couldn’t shop there… they’re charging what the same brands at TJ Maxx are new.
Wild to me that value village charges more than platos/style encore and they get their shit for free.
I wanted go figure out where your fave value village was but I think I'll stick to the ones in KW, they're priced much more reasonably.
I have always had good luck at this location, but I also truly believe it's just luck - because this was a bad trip. I am also just... so turned off lately over the VV prices it makes me not want to shop at them anymore. It's WILD. I really like the Welland location too - but the prices everywhere are wild.
I’d love to find some Lolita clothes one day at the thrift would be amazing! ❤😊
On the hunt for the perfect sized and shaped all wooden china cabinet/storage unit for my kitchen. Hunting all thrift stores and Facebook marketplace with no luck- yet!
I would be stoked if I could find the perfect pottery full plate set even if it’s just the dinner plates
But also, as a fellow reseller, why are these videos such a tease?! lol. Like, please tell me you picked up that onyx shell trinket dish or I'll cry. Edit* My bucket list item is one of those super fancy victorian glass jewelry boxes and alabaster bird baths!
Always on the hunt for Garfield
How often do you dye your pink and what dye do you use? I feel like mine always fades immediately!
Also, love your thrift videos!
I have been wanting one of those geese that you dress up for different holidays. It's so corney, but I don't care
i dont thrift i havent bought clothes in a while but when i do start to thrift for clothes i think i would like a flowy long sleeved collared blouse that i can layer!
I am going thrifting in week I am going with my best friend and my mom my list is:
-long skirt
-belt
-jewelry
-cute tee
-short skirt
-and something else if I can ( my friends value village is very cheap)
The program W5 did a report recently about VV pricing of used item. I have not thrifted in a while the prices are insanely high 😳🛒🛒♥️🇨🇦
Some cool things you pointed out
I would have appreciated the cool person pile.
❤️
Anything elephant, butterfly, dragonfly, Fox 🦊, seventies, polka dot, midi length xo
Don't sleep on dying clothes -- a couple of those things I thought, ooh, if she just got some fabric dye that'd be perfect!
Value village prices have gotten insane
Dolls-Monster High or Lol OMG
Milk glass if it’s something I don’t have
Ladies!!! 🥺
If I find any Taylor Swift item it is in my cart so fast I don’t even look at price
i would love to thrift some dream clothing pieces of mine, but all these depop resellers have made the thrift stores near me raise clothing prices so high i don't even bother looking for them anymore. does anyone else have these problem?? i can't afford new clothes from any store, thrift or not, anymore it seems
Thrifting is a challenge these days. When the cost of a thrifted product is the price of a new product...well thats when you lost me.
