I swear I am the only one at the ramp to ever help people out, I launch and recover my CC boat alone with no problems, but if I'm standing there and a boat pulls up I'll say throw me your rope. Nothing worse than the idiots that just stand there and criticize.

Exactly! I have a 28’ CC. I go out every weekend! It’s an older boat, so occasionally there are problems... once in a blue moon, something happens that just fries my brain. I can’t human for whatever reason, and somebody is almost always willing to help even sometimes when I don’t need it! I also give help when I can! Pay it forward I suppose... but then there’s the one person who is holier than thou, and doesn’t lift a finger to help, but still talks shit and thinks they have every right!

I did my first launch and load today. The launch went smooth but loading was awful. The trailer was too deep in the water and I couldn't center the boat. Luckily there was a gentleman that just loaded his boat and he offered his help and explained what I did wrong and how to do it properly. I am very thankful that instead of filming me trying to load the boat he came over and helped.

J B I started building my first skiff at 13. Regular plywood, 1by’s, and caulk! Nobody in my family ever owned a boat. I just knew what they should kinda look like. By 15 was done. At 16 was given the old farm truck, then bought a trailer. Still never had this much of a issue!

The alligators here are cheeky little bastards that’ll love to take a cheep shot at ya first chance they got! So I understand them having a knife. But I’m totally with you! I agree. Give the guys a hand. They would have learned and the ramp would be clearer faster. The guys had alot of positives that were overlooked... He guided the boat to the ramp pretty well with what sounds like a lot of wind and a fairly strong cross current.. They were considerate retrieving at a low peak time.... I've launched at that ramp many many times and have not seen it that empty... usually all ramps are full, every parking place taken, and trucks-n-trailers lining the shoulder of the Causeway. It was a great time for them to practice and learn instead the one person around that, that I assume has experience, chose to video tape and shame instead of helping and teaching.

    • @randyweaver9528
      @randyweaver9528 4 ปีที่แล้ว

The geniuses around here go buy the biggest boat rolling, have never owned one, then show up at the ramp during the busiest part of the summer weekends and try to back the trailer in. When they finally manage to get the boat wet they park the truck on the ramp and proceed to load half of their house in the boat from the truck (instead of doing that ahead of time). After about half an hour of blocking the ramp up they will finally be ready to leave in the boat. I’ve heard cheers go up when the offender pulls the truck up the ramp.
Many on here have criticized saying “why didn’t you help? Where is your consideration?”
The real question is Where is their consideration for others? Answer they have none. You get a new boat, go learn how to back a trailer before you try to put it down the ramp. Load your crap on the boat at home. Make sure the boat will crank before you leave home. When you get to the ramp undo your straps, put someone in the boat with the key in the ignition. When the boat floats crank the boat and let the driver pull up out of the way. Two minutes tops from pulling to the top of the ramp to cranking the boat.

Thats not the right trailer for that boat , much longer then needed. My guess is they work at a service shop and were picking the boat up for a customer . Im a marine mechanic , and while it looked like they had no idea what they were doing they seem to be trying to get their weight over the axles properly . Not as simple as just driving the boat onto the trailer and hitting the bow stop when its not the correct trailer for the vessle .

Pretty sure this guy recording would've drove it up on the trailer and tore some stuff up in the process, and probably not think twice about it. The trailer isn't made specifically for this boat its about 6-10 ft too long and the front geometry likely isn't the best match the front end of this boat, its not a tru v hull . Its a whole different process at that point and it just shows your ignorance when you don't notice those details. If you know everything, put the camera down, and ask politely if you can lend a hand. I think you would've actually learned something. I'll never make fun of someone completing a process slowly without anyone getting hurt and tearing equipment up.

My opinion, personally if ya can't load you're boat on a trailer the right way. Then don't own one. Why is it that some people won't glide their trailer down the ramp far enough? Trim goes up, the trailer goes under. Simple as that. Why would anyone want to pull their boat up a trailer more then 2 foot is beyond me. It's alot smoother pull by hand then to risk stress on both the boat and trailer crank. It's all common sense. But hey, just my opinion.

Definitely not the trailer for the boat. Probably pulling it for maintenance or something. He came in with the current and wind fine. I see nothing wrong? Just someone judging from behind the camera.

1st of all the trailer is way to big if they pulled it all the way up on the trailer the lower unit would hit cross members on the trailer.

Didn't crash, didn't camp out on the ramp, didn't loose the truck on the ramp, I don't see the problem here ? I'd rather crack open a cold one and catch nothing with those guys, than to have to listen to a crusty old guy complain about random people while we're reeling in big ones , any day of the week.

  • @CooterOnDaMind

He could have tried to get the trailer in a little further. He had 8 feet he couldve came back still kept the truck tires dry. Little horsepower wouldve helped instead of standing behind the steering wheel like he was doing something

It looks like to me they were being careful with a borrowed trailer. They did not want to damage boat or trailer not knowing how it was going to fit on there. The guy docked that boat like a champ especially with the high current and wind. I bet the guy with the camera didn’t even realize that boat was not meant for that trailer.

    • @tnoel374

That is not the correct trailer for the boat. The bunks are already past the stern and there is still 3 feet to the winch.

The trailer is not the right one for that boat. Look at the stern and where it ended up at the carpet bunks...exactly where it was suppose to be. A few feet further up and the motor would have hit the last support rail. Do us all a favor....STAY ON LAND.

Can't believe he is still doing the same stuff!! Hasn't learned his lesson. Instead of putting people down maybe help and be productive

What you said to do will destroy that boat. It’s obvious that the trailer is to big. I know that, I’m sure they know that. That’s why it’s back so far. They should have an adjustable front support, but they don’t. I see it all day long living in Florida by boating companies.

  • @PapaPugs
