@@chrisdominguez5097 Valerica wanted it, Serana didnt, if you take time to talk to her about it during the DLC she describes it as “degrading” and gets really uncomfortable talking about it, and if you talk to Valerica about it she’ll tell you “of course Serana wanted it, it was expected of her” basically Valerica confirms that Serana’s personal feelings didn’t matter at the time and she still doesn’t care about how Serana feels about the ordeal now thousands of years later, so yes, it’s possible Serana was traumatized from the ordeal and is only feigning indifferent because her mom (who she was very close to at the time) convinced her she should be proud of what happened so she is trying to convince herself of the same thing, hell if you are mortal yourself I’m pretty sure you can even convince Serana to get herself cured of her Vampirism

That being said, Laura Bailey does still hold the crown for best Serana VA, but the character development from the mod from the beginning where she does actually act more like the vanilla when you first meet her and then slowly opens up to you is too good to be ignored. Plus the VA they have is a damn good replacement to the point that my opinion on who plays her better changes at the drop of the hat.
Also, as much as I love the dialogue, her statements appear to contradict each other. In one instance, she says she once got "hungover" off an entire keg of Altmer Golden Pear Wine, but in another, she say she's never gotten drunk and that it's one of her life goals. Maybe the idea is that we're in different timelines, depending on the player's race? I dunno.
Gameplay? It's so-so Lore? It's OP When Tiber Septim tried to conquer Black Marsh, they often get ambushed by Argonian skirmish laying in wait under water, and they're impossible to track down Argonian camp because they made camp underwater. Legionnaire troop never made it to the heart of Black Marsh.
In lore, being able to stay underwater indefinitely does give the Argonians a huge advantage if there's a deep enough body of water nearby and all without needing magic, enchanted items, or potions. Not to mention the resistance to disease and immunity to most poisons.
She can say other things that are potentially fourth wall breaking... like your character 'zoning out' for long periods of time. However, most of that can toggled off but some things remain... like the comment on Argonians being able to breath under water.

This is some nice attention to detail by Marty, really makes the player character, whatever race you choose for it, feel like the race they are. Khajiit for example, the dialogue you get says "This one thanks you for your compliment", very clever writing there. :) Something that isn't really written in most vanilla dialogue with characters who comment on the player's race.
She can transform into a full blooded vampire form, thiugh she never really uses it. She one of few followers who about as dangerous and powerful as you are.

So as dragons in compare to actual lizards. A lizard still is bigger and stronger than a bat, if you ask me, but such comparison doesn't look so one-sided.
this, this is why I like modded playthrough. there's many mods that is just plain weird, sometimes more engaging. hearing some bandit calling my khajiit character "cat" hundreds of times doesn't do a justice. Gotta admit, whether it's lore friendly or not, with mods like these, modded playthrough is good as vanilla one.

But these moments give a perfect example on the immersion breaking dialog. A Volkihar can't hold their breath for long in the mod. But can be under frozen lakes for hunting purposes in the lore🤔. Also an alcoholic Serana of all things? Even though alcohol is never mentioned by the NPC in vanilla. Alchemy yes, trauma of course, alcoholism not even.

Ok nerd alert once again but hear me out: Serana couldn't have possibly read stories about Redguard pirates in Hammerfell as she was entombed before Yokudans (from Yokuda the original homeland of the Redguards) first set foot on Tamriel. This happened centuries after the first Alessian Empire in what would become Cyrodiil was founded, something she has no idea about.

I disagree. I think a lot of people attribute her general lack of personality and dialogue in the vanilla game to intentional design where I think it’s more lazy development by Bethesda. I appreciate mods like this that breathe life into one of the most important NPC’s in the game.
I mean just because the Imperials weren't an Empire during her time doesn't mean they weren't a group of people with their own culture. The Imperials dealing with the Ayleid Empire and the fall of the White-Gold Tower was all within the First Era.

It's strange. In the lore Volkihar Vampires can breathe underwater, because they were supposed to be like sea vampires that can hide under the ice cap and pull people underwater to suck their blood.

Honestly I don't mind the mod, I like hearing new dialogue from time to time, but hearing this Serana speak reminds me more of Sofia (a different follower mod) than vanilla Serana.
There's also the fact that, if you have both this Serana mod and Sofia one at the same time, they interact with each other, and Serana and Sofia often argue, to the point where Serana asks you to tell Sofia to go away and remove her from the group.

Personally Im fine with both, they both have their pros and cons. Vanilla Serana is pretty chill, calm and collected but like good god complain about the weather one more time. This ones more funny, sounds like shes smoking herb but holy shit when i heard her describe the argonians ability to breathe underwater "overpowered" my body just felt like i was about to release some solar beam or smth holy hell
Ugh, this is why i just don't care about these character overhauls, they always overdo it and add the most unrealistic modern slang, it just doesn't fit the setting.

Don’t the original characters in the vanilla game that you can marry call you “my love” literally every time you address them? I understand that the sexual conversations may be unwelcome, but if you’re that annoyed by someone calling you “my love” in Skyrim, you must have been a regular bachelor/bachelorette. I think it might be better to have a toggle for the conversation options about the sexual intentions in a mod manager of some kind, but for those that want to romance this vampire (which is 90% of the fandom), it should be a relatively welcome addition.

I can see why they cut this dialog. It makes serana seem like a drunkard with all these different questions/replys and i dont think thats what they had in mind for her despite it really does fit. Her parents are awful so why wouldnt serana turn to a keg or 2? But ultimately theyd rather her kept her emotions bottled up like how she was for hundreds of years. I wish serana wouldve been able to open up more which leads to her being marriagable (also other npcs too) Shes such a loved character and im sure todd knew she'd be a pinnacle of skyrim

Also an alcoholic Serana of all things? Even though alcohol is never mentioned by the NPC in vanilla. Alchemy yes, trauma of course, alcoholism not even.
The writing and voice acting in this mod make me want to chop off my own nuts

Serana couldn't have possibly read stories about Redguard pirates in Hammerfell as she was entombed before Yokudans (from Yokuda the original homeland of the Redguards) first set foot on Tamriel. This happened centuries after the first Alessian Empire in what would become Cyrodiil was founded, something she has no idea about.

I disagree. I think a lot of people attribute her general lack of personality and dialogue in the vanilla game to intentional design where I think it’s more lazy development by Bethesda. I appreciate mods like this that breathe life into one of the most important NPC’s in the game.

I mean just because the Imperials weren't an Empire during her time doesn't mean they weren't a group of people with their own culture. The Imperials dealing with the Ayleid Empire and the fall of the White-Gold Tower was all within the First Era.

It's strange. In the lore Volkihar Vampires can breathe underwater, because they were supposed to be like sea vampires that can hide under the ice cap and pull people underwater to suck their blood.

Honestly I don't mind the mod, I like hearing new dialogue from time to time, but hearing this Serana speak reminds me more of Sofia (a different follower mod) than vanilla Serana.
I mean this Serana and Sofia both gives off that unstable alcoholic vibe, so you’re not too far off lmaoo
There's also the fact that, if you have both this Serana mod and Sofia one at the same time, they interact with each other, and Serana and Sofia often argue, to the point where Serana asks you to tell Sofia to go away and remove her from the group.

After couple of hours of gameplay in addition to her obsession with alcohol she starts talking about sex non stop and calling you "my love" in every other sentence. This is so far from original serana that it basically is a separate character at this point
Don’t the original characters in the vanilla game that you can marry call you “my love” literally every time you address them? I understand that the sexual conversations may be unwelcome, but if you’re that annoyed by someone calling you “my love” in Skyrim, you must have been a regular bachelor/bachelorette.
I think it might be better to have a toggle for the conversation options about the sexual intentions in a mod manager of some kind, but for those that want to romance this vampire (which is 90% of the fandom), it should be a relatively welcome addition.

I can see why they cut this dialog. It makes serana seem like a drunkard with all these different questions/replys and i dont think thats what they had in mind for her despite it really does fit. Her parents are awful so why wouldnt serana turn to a keg or 2? But ultimately theyd rather her kept her emotions bottled up like how she was for hundreds of years. I wish serana wouldve been able to open up more which leads to her being marriagable (also other npcs too)
