I Am A Srilankan Burgher..... Half Dutch Half Portuguese...Which Makes Me Pure Colonial.....Its So Sad That No One Talks About The Burghers....Burghers That Once Made Ceylon Beautiful....Keep Spreading The Message....I Am Proud To Be A Burgher...Never Change That For Anything.....Thank You So Much For Sharing..... Appreciate ❤️🔥😇🫶....
Lets talk about Burghers & your experience
Can you please contact me? Would like to talk about Burghers
I agree. My heritage is disappearing as our History is played down.
This happens in every country.
Bullshit.. My dad and I were almost killed in SL in 1983. The the US my home and i am treated as an equal by Americans, unlike the troglodytes buddhist.
Thank you for sharing this…..Sri lanka is a racist country is a fact!
When i lived Colombo i used to pass pettah . One day when i entered a shop for buy some shirts. The prices are too high. I said i will come back later in my broken sinhala.( I'm from Jaffna) he literally pulled me in the road and beat me without any reason. Happened a decades ago near by ( premadass statue). After that i left Sri Lanka. Never visit srillanka again. this was just another incident. Not the first time. I was very scared to pick my call in the bus .
What????
Thank you for sharing this. I think you are absolutely right for calling out racist behaviour. The first steps to a long-lasting peace is respect for each other. Well done.
I'm a Dutch Burgher and my grandfather is from Scotland. One day ASP Nandana Senaratna at tha Cinnamon Gardens police told me I don't belong here and I must talk only in Sinhala because this country is a Sinhala Buddhist country. I went to human rights ot the hooligan transferred to Polonaruwa.
Yes, you have to be respectful at a place like that. Shouldn't be scantily dressed at a prominent location, please. It's time the international schools teach a bit of Sri Lankan culture for a change.
Do you even live in Sri Lanka? How do you know what they were wearing?

Sorry to hear that, they should never ask what your religion is? To me everyone is a sri lankan and have the right to be anywhere they want.
singapore malaysia indonesia have the same culture , fore- warning in case of visits to there
I know how you feel as my family and I too have undergone many terrible times when the foolish majority opress the innocent.
How this is racism ? they were basically asked u to be respectful infront of a religious space ...just finding excuses to be triggered, pathetic
So racism is rampant in India n Sri-Lanka...??
How come y'all are often dark skinned...
Caste system.
Citizens of Portugal are darker than their Other European counterparts.
We are sorry about that.... It will not happen again...
Sister ... You are welcome to islam with your family. Allahu akbar,.
