It's the point of view of the psycho. Psychos wouldn't be psycho if their thoughts made any actual sense. This song came about 13 years before I was born. I grew up hearing it on the radio, whether I wanted to hear it or not. Actually, this is the first time I've ever actually listened by choice, and I did so because I always include apropos music in the books I am writing. This isn't what I was looking for as pertains to the book, but I always give a song a chance because I may have remembered it wrong or whatever... and sometimes a song can inspire a side plot that wasn't previously thought of. But I digress. Unfortunately, I attract psychopaths like flame attracts bugs. I look for the opposite, but people feel soothed around me, and they pretend they're not insane at first (never longer than exactly three weeks, ever) but eventually, of course their psychosis comes out because they can't fake it forever. And honestly, this song is so mild in every way.... I mean, actual psychos are so much more scattered and nonsensical. I'm trying to think of a metaphor that could even fit....
