One of my favorite songs ever. I first found it watching the little monsters movie. My favorite memory of this song however, is listening to it about 87 times from my way to and back from Kansas City for the chiefs super bowl parade. My chiefs won the Super Bowl in 2019-2020 season and my parents let me drive to the parade because they knew how much it meant to me and it was the greatest experience ever. Stayed with a friend and enjoyed the Championship. Think of that every time I listen to this song. So fun.
My brother and I listened to this when our dear mum was in an end of life care hospital in September 2018...strong person that she was,she rallied, bless her...passed away peacefully Christmas day 2019...we will all love her forever xxx
My mum passed away last year, from an unknown brain bleed - we had to take her off life support, since there was no chance of her not sustaining brain damage... rough times. I understand. RIP
@@jamesl8478 Exactly. I've often thought it's kind of a shame that the movie didn't do better in theaters, otherwise that throwaway line could have lead into a continuing animated series on TV, which could have been amazing for the time. On the other hand, it probably would have ended up becoming one of those one-season-wonders (ie, only lasts for one season, no matter how good it might be, and then gets cancelled).
@@ghostchaser1631 I was hoping that line would lead to either a sequel or an animated series. I love this movie, as did my siblings when we watched it.
@@princessmarlena1359 An animated series would probably have been the best route to take from there, the only problem for Little Monsters was that it was overshadowed by Beetlejuice, hence my "one season wonder" theory.
Maurice brought me here. Just watched the movie with my 4 year old daughter and my 8 year old son. It still holds up. They loved it. LITTLE MONSTERS!!!
This is the last song played on the 80's fantisy "Little Monsters" starring Fred Savage. nearly 30 years since its publishing... still fresh in all its glory!
It's where I know it from too. I watched that film a ton when I was a kid. Watched the film on VHS then lost it, never knew this song for years until I heard it again and straight away knew where I'd heard it
when my dad used to come home drunk and fight with my mom..my big sister used to take me to her room and sing this to me...my sis apparently had good taste in music..ill always be her lil bro.😊😊😊

braunt0n Yes I'm still married to her. The only thing more strange than her taste in music is my father in law. He insists we play "Can't touch this" by MC Hammer at family gatherings and makes me dance to it. I always die of embarrassment and he thinks its the funniest thing. FREAKS!
when youre on the road to owhere just take a left or a right turn..it may not be the Right turn, but at least you no longer will be on the road to nowhere..
I guess it's a good thing that my relatively old copy of 1984 has a preface that explains distopia and utopia, where the definition of utopia is "no where." The "u" being the hint.

9 years along...still relevant

Im sorry. My mom also passed away December 11th. Two years ago from stupid cancer. But she liked this song too.

HOPEFULLY THE ROAD TO NOWHERE LEEDS YOU TO SOME WHERE AMAZING-NEVER GIVE UP
We take the shit , we breake the shit, we put the shit back. One of the funniest lines in 80's movies. Fight me on that?

Well, we know where we're goin'
But we don't know where we've been
And we know what we're knowin'
But we can't say what we've seen
And we're not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out
We're on a road to nowhere
Come on inside
Takin' that ride to nowhere
We'll take that ride
I'm feelin' okay this mornin'
And you know
We're on a road to paradise
Here we go, here we go
We're on a ride to nowhere
Come on inside
Takin' that ride to nowhere
We'll take that ride
Maybe you wonder where you are
I don't care
Here is where time is on our side
Take you there, take you there
We're on a road to nowhere
We're on a road to nowhere
We're on a road to nowhere
There's a city in my mind
Come along and take that ride
And it's all…

I think they did. At least a little understand how impactful what they were singing about was.
