I agree the quality is what has made them the benchmark. I guess there are a lot of quality games out there so what I think has set them apart besides really convenient things like cross play and multiple devices is how they zero in on an audience. I've only played Genshin Impact much, but if you compare it to other action jrpg s it is a chiller experience. Anime fans that might not normally like complicated jrpgs enjoy Genshin. Yet I find even the harder core gamers/jrpg fans still appreciate Genshin.
