At first i only pulled characters i really liked and didnt think about what the meta could be so i was basically stuck being carried by Ganyu for the first 9 months. Missed out on Kazuha, missed out on Yelan😢 two characters i really do wish i had now.

I had to take several mental health breaks and i'm just now coming back and trying to still figure stuff out - i'm still a f2p and i find myself having to loo up guides at times for help , seeing your builds gives me an idea and helps me a lot too so thank you a lot , by the way your voice is truly calming!

this was a great 2nd monitor vid while i ran around farming handguards! i'm a day one player but stopped before dragonspine and took a very long break and came back in 3.8. when you said that you spent all of your primos on the standard banner i felt a pain in my soul. i did the same thing for the same reason because it was my first gacha game and the whole limited banner thing was beyond me. i quit because i'm a mostly mmo player so the concept of resin didn't fit with my "grind endlessly for things" mentality and was super frustrated being so resource strapped. it just wasn't the game i wanted it to be. coming back (ar35) i took a more relaxed approach, accepted the game for what it was, and focused more on the world and the lore. pulled wanderer and decided to main him since we share a birthday. fontaine was coming so i just blasted through all the archon quests to join everybody else for the launch of 4.0. i made the same decision as you to 36 star the abyss and that turned me into mostly a meta player. i don't have all the meta units but i was lucky as a day one to have high constellations of the power 5 and that even 3 years later they hadn't been power crept into oblivion. my first 36 star was in january 2024 and i've 36 starred every cycle since! looking forward to more content from you!

i started today of last year too!! genshin is my first game ever, i played some games on my phone but nothing as big as genshin. i started bc i saw many edits of scara and xiao and i thought they were very pretty so i started playing. actually i'm playing on my second account bc my first one had aether in it and when i found out that childe called lumine "hey girlie" i had to change it hahaah (no hate towards aether of course, the sibling are both super cute and pretty, but i'm weak for childe). at first i thought that only people who spent money could get 5 stars but when i got hu tao on accident i almost panicked bc i thought i spent money on accident. it took me months before finding out how resin, gacha, talents and artifacts worked so my account is a bit behind in terms of build and characters raised. i only pull for charcters that i like in the story, i don't really care about meta or the abyss. even if i played for the abyss, it doesn't work with my computer idk why. i mained scara since i got him during the summer, but now i'm using gaming more. he's just so fun, so much so that i'm trying to pull for xianyun just to support him hahah. your account is actually very well build, i really liked the video and it was fun to share my experience and see that i wasn't the only one who was hoplessly clueless at the start

thats true. but there are still cases (like fighting the thunder manifestation in the last abyss rotation) where it just moves around a lot, and it often flies away from where the cores were generated so thats usually when kuki feels better. also kuki just consolidates the healer role too which is nice.
I only pull for characters occasionally for fun i don't really like the gacha part but i like all the other things genshin has to offer, except i wish there was more content for co op and ar 60 players!

I started pretty much the same as you. I'm not a gamer. Genshin was my first. I dunno you have to build characters. What I did my first two weeks was explore the hell out of Monstadt, cook eggs, and talk to every nps with an exclamation point. Lol.
ive tried rational, furina teams, and aggravate versions of raiden and i just wasnt really the biggest fan. at this point in my account i can clear abyss relatively easily without raiden, so she wasnt really needed on my account but i just like her as a character anyways
genshin was my first ever gatcha game too so i did spend a LOT of my wishes on stardard banner hoping for keqing but tectone and genshin content creators back in 1.6 helped
This is quite interesting to see for comparison. I'm F2P too and my account is fairly similar despite me playing around half the amount of days (Hoyolab says I've logged on 162 days). I guess I'm considered a no-life then. :) I also have 7 limited 5 stars, however, it seems I've been a bit luckier as I've only lost 3/7 50/50s. I just turned AR 56 and was able to complete my first 36 star abyss clear last cycle. I was also able to 36 star this cycle as well, so hopefully I can keep up the streak. I also see that you are a fellow Gaming enjoyer! Kind of risky but I have been pulling in the hopes of trying to get him C6, currently C5. 😁
thats how it be sometimes. but also im assuming you havent played every day or participated in all of the events? if you participated in all of the events and logged in every day for 2 years you would have around 600 wishes or more even as an f2p. so unless all of those wishes went to the weapon banner, you should have more 5 stars.
i'm a low spender and pretty unlucky on 50/50s so like i feel really mad when i compare myself to whales/just people that got lucky with their pulls in general. i've been playing for a little over 7 months and i got the same amount of limited characters as you did with 1 more limited weapon aswell, it really puts in perspective how much spending money actually makes a difference in this game, and despite all that you keep playing as a f2p and feel proud of what you have achieved, i guess i should strive to be more like you lol.

This is a great account, well done. I agree with all your sentiments about playing Genshin for the first time. It was my first gacha as well and I think it's going to remain my only one. Nothing in the gacha space rn looks and feels like Genshin 😂.
Playing from the launch but still to this date I have only pulled for charectors that I like..... whether they are meta or not doesn't really matter... And also I haven't wished on the weapon banner even once....collecting charector's and building different teams with them is more fun to me.
That's probably the best year f2p account out there, very nice. Would be great to hear ur short and long future plans on pulls builds etc(next video idea lol). I feel like u could get c6 gaming this banner, and maybe get some faruzan cons - my fav character so I can't recommend her enough. In my experience pulling for 4* literally up to 73 pity is ok, but I usually hold back on 40-50. For TC content I always recommend zajef, but I'm sure u've already seen him. I would tell my account story but it's kind of too long at this point and not even nearly f2p so I will refrain from making this comment even longer. I will just sat as a welkin+bp player I pull for meta and waifu characters and make them as strong as reasonably possible, what I see u doing so thats cool.

thank you bro also not sure if the EM thing is referring to something i said, but if it is, then yes you are correct its just bonus dmg. usually when people say "vape is dependent on em" they just mean it heavily benefits from em, not that it doesnt work without it. just to clear up any misunderstanding

After playing for so long I notice many issues with the game, but at the same time I can appreciate many aspects of it as well.
A very nice account! I only buy welkin (yes, my first time donating for a game was genshin), and for now just like you i pull for characters that unlock the best teams. Luckily i started playing right at the time of all archons rerun so they were easy to get . Now i only lack Yelan and Nilou and my op wishlist is done, i'm planning on maybe pulling for new characters that are in Natlan for more power creep lol. I haven't invested much resin into artifacts yet so no 12 floor for me but it's pretty close. Enjoyed your video!
Hello there, it seems we are starting this game around the same time and coming from regular open world games so this is my first gacha game too, and i've felt it too when you said thing as "could get 5 stars character from their story quest" because i think the same as you lol, starting clueless about resin (used to capped resin everyday lol) and then starting to watch character build and account build guide so my account is quite good at this moment, i used to do 100% exploration in all area until the 4.4 comes out, but i will let one sub area in chenyu vale to not fully explored so i will have primogems saving in case of emergency lol because i'm running out of primo savings from story quest and hangout. Hoping too see your next content on daily basis (got you new subs).
I played in 1.0 but it was my first gacha game. Once I ran out of story content I stopped playing. Two years later HSR comes out and I loved it. Then I remembered that they also made another game. So I went back to Genshin but this time with the knowledge on how to play a gacha game. I didn't have any 5 star characters. Apparently I did some pulls on the standard banner because I didn't like Venti, the first limited 5 star. I didn't use many relics and they were not leveled up or of the same kind. The game was actually difficult as I was really underpowered. Long story short, now I have Furina, Nahida and Raiden Shogun all leveled up. F2P BTW Like commented and subscribed 👍
I started genshin abt a month ago I think, I have raiden and nahida rn and I'm saving for kazuha/furina/neuvilette/yelan right now, completely f2p and have a set of goals to achieve
I could've gain alot on genshin but i didn't want to continue.....i don't know why i'm not used to genshin rn , i feel rlly bored while playing as i don't know what to do
story quests, hangouts, limited-time events, redemption codes, completing abyss, dailies, hoyolab daily check-in, and achievement hunting. after finishing quests and exploration, there really isnt a way to "farm" primogems anymore, and you just get what hoyo gives you every patch
First gacha game for me, and after a month of f2p, I broke out the wallet and set a goal to get every 5* character c0r1 with the exception of my favorites that are or will be c6r1 minimum (yelan, wanderer, nahida, and arlecchino)
I started like 4-5 months ago (during the zhongli-childe banner). I pulled for 7 limited 5 stars as well and won 5-5050 (C1 Wriothesley, C1 Furina, Baizhu, Navia, Ayato and C3 Diluc). Now im guaranteed, so will pull for Kazuha or Neuvillette in 4.5. I also have 100% everywhere except liyue and monstadt (around 90% on those areas).
Im at my 24rd day of playing genshin and at AR40, trying to build 4 (raiden, bennett, xinqui and xiangling) in my team and nahida for hyperbloom. Focusing on Weapons, talents and character. Just enjoying the game but befinately saving my resources and getting ready for AR45 and primogems for the next banner that i actually would build and would be good for my team since im a F2P
Yeah man i was like you just like how you described yourself i on my first acc mindlessly wasted my resin didnt use artifacts my first 5 star char was albedo and it was just not so good account. Then I watched sharkhearts video too which helped me a lot. Fun fact: I got Ayato, Raiden, Nahida all on 59th pity on my second acc. Yes I am a Meta Slave
i swear dude when i joined genshin i was like so thats a good amount of story quest ill be getting like 20 or more characters and itll be fun i didnt get any was quite confused or was it a game mistake that they forget to give me or something then i went onto the hangouts i thought doing each hangouts gives me constellations xD i put in like 160 fates worth primos on standard banner haha
I like Raiden straight up more when playing Hyperbloom, you can start the rotation with her skill which allows you to not miss some seeds from the beggining+ even when you miss some seeds she procs so fast that its hard for you to not proc 2 seeds at one time (which is the limit for hyperbloom, if you proc 3 or more it does nothing) + her range and skill uptime are just great, I do tend to play Kuki quite a bit more now, but thats because I play Alhaitham, so I dont really care about the range or burst damage bonus, when I play double hydro HB i prefer Raiden.
yeah raiden does have better uptime and procs seeds faster, but lets be real hyperbloom is already so busted with kuki that i genuinely just didnt need raiden at all. i also like that kuki consolidates the healing role, especially since abyss enemies are starting to hit harder and i dont have any shielders built so i really appreciate kuki's healing a bit more. double hydro hyperbloom in all its variants is good enough to clear, at that point its just about which clears fastest
@@noodleGI Yeah I see that, no reason to pull Raiden just for Hyperbloom, Kuki is already really good and the healing is really nice as well, even then I find that Raiden Nahida Yelan Xq is a team that is easy to get used to, I always found Xq to be enough for surviving (except when you are against some very aggresive enemies like consecrated beasts), but that might just be me being used to it lol, I got Raiden before Kuki, so that might be a part of the reason why I like it so much.
@@ginger2114 yeah xingqiu does a lot of carrying in terms of dmg reduction, which is already comfy enough for most abyss floors. but agreed some of those aggressive enemies can really be a pain

My alt account started just 2 months after the 1st one was created during launch, I did took some hiatus on it but then because I made the account to have keqing, a week later I finally got her on main, yeah was messed up XD, but anyways I resume playing it during inazuma release and kept playing it since, there were few events that I have missed, didnt have enough time and 2-3 I complete forgot to do, rarely miss daily and resin burn, but other than that it was fully grown account, except I didnt bother abyss with it, and I awalys try to wish for chars I dont plan on getting on my main except some few, ayaka, because I didnt I'd like her back then, then I realized I wanted her on my main, and the other one is lady furina, well because its lady furina, the others are yoimiya, itto, ayato, baizhu, wrio, haitam, wanderer, cyno, kokomi and shenhe, the standards are c4 keqing, c3 qiqi, tignari and jean, 5 star weapons from standard are amos bow, gravestone, skywardspine and 2 aquila favonia, with that being said there are still a lot of unexplored areas and quite a few unfinished quest(main is 100%), if I have to guess could probably get 1 to 2 5 stars worth if all explored? not sure, but yeah to give you an example of what a full f2p account would look like from dec 2020-jan2021 and july2021 up to present, do I regret building this account? hell yeah I do, I cant abandon it XD.
my guess is playing a year, you can get that many primos catching up to the game. He explores 100% no doubt his achievements are high and all the quests.

As someone who also created a second acc coz I felt like my original one was ass, I don't even blame you for creating it. In the beginning especially if you're someone who's not familiar with gacha games and also the mechanics of the game not that fully explained unless you watch a video tutorial of it on TH-cam, it was not surprising making tons of mistake early game.
I started playing 7 month before and actually played 3 months and I already have Eula Klee Yelan Hu Tao Neuvillette Wanderer Venti Yae Miko ( Got yesterday ) Mona C1 Keqing .... YES I M F2P BUT WAY TOO LUCKY... Not even the liyue quests are completed yet hehe.......

I started 5 months ago in September 9 i guess so i pulled Hu Tao cuz my pity was high and I didn't know about meta so it happened by itself then i pulled Ayaka in 4.3 and now i pulled Nahida in 4.4 i lost 1 50/50 to keqing on Furina banner now i don't have even 1 complete team and i feel like i messed up cuz who to use with Hu tao and who to use with Ayaka no idea just put them in same team😭
@@noodleGI i use Hu tao, xingqui, diona in 1 team and last slot is empty and i use Ayaka, barbara, Qiqi and sucrose in 2nd team but not impressed by sucrose work she is useless and Barbara as well and i couldn't even do 11th floor 2nd chamber😭
@@Sushi_sann well i think sucrose fits decently well on the hu tao team, it can be like a budget VV vape team. also sucrose shares a nice em buff with the whole team that hu tao can benefit from. and diona is a nice battery for ayaka!

i started today of last year too!! genshin is my first game ever, i played some games on my phone but nothing as big as genshin. i started bc i saw many edits of scara and xiao and i thought they were very pretty so i started playing. actually i'm playing on my second account bc my first one had aether in it and when i found out that childe called lumine "hey girlie" i had to change it hahaah (no hate towards aether of course, the sibling are both super cute and pretty, but i'm weak for childe). at first i thought that only people who spent money could get 5 stars but when i got hu tao on accident i almost panicked bc i thought i spent money on accident. it took me months before finding out how resin, gacha, talents and artifacts worked so my account is a bit behind in terms of build and characters raised. i only pull for charcters that i like in the story, i don't really care about meta or the abyss. even if i played for the abyss, it doesn't work with my computer idk why. i mained scara since i got him during the summer, but now i'm using gaming more. he's just so fun, so much so that i'm trying to pull for xianyun just to support him hahah. your account is actually very well build, i really liked the video and it was fun to share my experience and see that i wasn't the only one who was hoplessly clueless at the start

thats true. but there are still cases (like fighting the thunder manifestation in the last abyss rotation) where it just moves around a lot, and it often flies away from where the cores were generated so thats usually when kuki feels better. also kuki just consolidates the healer role too which is nice.
I only pull for characters occasionally for fun i don't really like the gacha part but i like all the other things genshin has to offer, except i wish there was more content for co op and ar 60 players!

I've spend a good amount of resin farming artifacts (like min 30k-40k) and my worst pieces are my circlets for some reason lol. Like I've gotten ONLY 5 CD circlets with CR substats. My first 36 star was in 4.0
I started pretty much the same as you. I'm not a gamer. Genshin was my first. I dunno you have to build characters. What I did my first two weeks was explore the hell out of Monstadt, cook eggs, and talk to every nps with an exclamation point. Lol.

ive tried rational, furina teams, and aggravate versions of raiden and i just wasnt really the biggest fan. at this point in my account i can clear abyss relatively easily without raiden, so she wasnt really needed on my account but i just like her as a character anyways
genshin was my first ever gatcha game too so i did spend a LOT of my wishes on stardard banner hoping for keqing but tectone and genshin content creators back in 1.6 helped
This is quite interesting to see for comparison. I'm F2P too and my account is fairly similar despite me playing around half the amount of days (Hoyolab says I've logged on 162 days). I guess I'm considered a no-life then. :)
I also have 7 limited 5 stars, however, it seems I've been a bit luckier as I've only lost 3/7 50/50s. I just turned AR 56 and was able to complete my first 36 star abyss clear last cycle. I was also able to 36 star this cycle as well, so hopefully I can keep up the streak.

thats how it be sometimes. but also im assuming you havent played every day or participated in all of the events? if you participated in all of the events and logged in every day for 2 years you would have around 600 wishes or more even as an f2p. so unless all of those wishes went to the weapon banner, you should have more 5 stars.

i'm a low spender and pretty unlucky on 50/50s so like i feel really mad when i compare myself to whales/just people that got lucky with their pulls in general.
i've been playing for a little over 7 months and i got the same amount of limited characters as you did with 1 more limited weapon aswell, it really puts in perspective how much spending money actually makes a difference in this game, and despite all that you keep playing as a f2p and feel proud of what you have achieved, i guess i should strive to be more like you lol.

This is a great account, well done. I agree with all your sentiments about playing Genshin for the first time. It was my first gacha as well and I think it's going to remain my only one. Nothing in the gacha space rn looks and feels like Genshin 😂.

Playing from the launch but still to this date I have only pulled for charectors that I like..... whether they are meta or not doesn't really matter... And also I haven't wished on the weapon banner even once....collecting charector's and building different teams with them is more fun to me.
That's probably the best year f2p account out there, very nice. Would be great to hear ur short and long future plans on pulls builds etc(next video idea lol). I feel like u could get c6 gaming this banner, and maybe get some faruzan cons - my fav character so I can't recommend her enough. In my experience pulling for 4* literally up to 73 pity is ok, but I usually hold back on 40-50. For TC content I always recommend zajef, but I'm sure u've already seen him. I would tell my account story but it's kind of too long at this point and not even nearly f2p so I will refrain from making this comment even longer. I will just sat as a welkin+bp player I pull for meta and waifu characters and make them as strong as reasonably possible, what I see u doing so thats cool.

Btw, I haven't seen it mentioned yet but Vape and Melt reactions don't depend on EM, they are just bonus damage dealt on whatever procced it.

also not sure if the EM thing is referring to something i said, but if it is, then yes you are correct its just bonus dmg. usually when people say "vape is dependent on em" they just mean it heavily benefits from em, not that it doesnt work without it. just to clear up any misunderstanding

I didn't know about limited character banner till six months after, I kept wishing on standard because we get free 10 standard wishes initially.

After playing for so long I notice many issues with the game, but at the same time I can appreciate many aspects of it as well.
A very nice account! I only buy welkin (yes, my first time donating for a game was genshin), and for now just like you i pull for characters that unlock the best teams. Luckily i started playing right at the time of all archons rerun so they were easy to get . Now i only lack Yelan and Nilou and my op wishlist is done, i'm planning on maybe pulling for new characters that are in Natlan for more power creep lol. I haven't invested much resin into artifacts yet so no 12 floor for me but it's pretty close. Enjoyed your video!

Hello there, it seems we are starting this game around the same time and coming from regular open world games so this is my first gacha game too, and i've felt it too when you said thing as "could get 5 stars character from their story quest" because i think the same as you lol, starting clueless about resin (used to capped resin everyday lol) and then starting to watch character build and account build guide so my account is quite good at this moment, i used to do 100% exploration in all area until the 4.4 comes out, but i will let one sub area in chenyu vale to not fully explored so i will have primogems saving in case of emergency lol because i'm running out of primo savings from story quest and hangout. Hoping too see your next content on daily basis (got you new subs).
I played in 1.0 but it was my first gacha game. Once I ran out of story content I stopped playing. Two years later HSR comes out and I loved it.
Then I remembered that they also made another game. So I went back to Genshin but this time with the knowledge on how to play a gacha game.
I didn't have any 5 star characters. Apparently I did some pulls on the standard banner because I didn't like Venti, the first limited 5 star. I didn't use many relics and they were not leveled up or of the same kind.
The game was actually difficult as I was really underpowered. Long story short, now I have Furina, Nahida and Raiden Shogun all leveled up. F2P BTW

How do you farm primogems now as you've already 100 exploration?.....I just 100 percent all the regions so I just wanted to know how😅
story quests, hangouts, limited-time events, redemption codes, completing abyss, dailies, hoyolab daily check-in, and achievement hunting. after finishing quests and exploration, there really isnt a way to "farm" primogems anymore, and you just get what hoyo gives you every patch

I started like 4-5 months ago (during the zhongli-childe banner). I pulled for 7 limited 5 stars as well and won 5-5050 (C1 Wriothesley, C1 Furina, Baizhu, Navia, Ayato and C3 Diluc). Now im guaranteed, so will pull for Kazuha or Neuvillette in 4.5. I also have 100% everywhere except liyue and monstadt (around 90% on those areas).

Im at my 24rd day of playing genshin and at AR40, trying to build 4 (raiden, bennett, xinqui and xiangling) in my team and nahida for hyperbloom. Focusing on Weapons, talents and character. Just enjoying the game but befinately saving my resources and getting ready for AR45 and primogems for the next banner that i actually would build and would be good for my team since im a F2P

I like Raiden straight up more when playing Hyperbloom, you can start the rotation with her skill which allows you to not miss some seeds from the beggining+ even when you miss some seeds she procs so fast that its hard for you to not proc 2 seeds at one time (which is the limit for hyperbloom, if you proc 3 or more it does nothing) + her range and skill uptime are just great, I do tend to play Kuki quite a bit more now, but thats because I play Alhaitham, so I dont really care about the range or burst damage bonus, when I play double hydro HB i prefer Raiden.
yeah raiden does have better uptime and procs seeds faster, but lets be real hyperbloom is already so busted with kuki that i genuinely just didnt need raiden at all. i also like that kuki consolidates the healing role, especially since abyss enemies are starting to hit harder and i dont have any shielders built so i really appreciate kuki's healing a bit more. double hydro hyperbloom in all its variants is good enough to clear, at that point its just about which clears fastest
@@noodleGI Yeah I see that, no reason to pull Raiden just for Hyperbloom, Kuki is already really good and the healing is really nice as well, even then I find that Raiden Nahida Yelan Xq is a team that is easy to get used to, I always found Xq to be enough for surviving (except when you are against some very aggresive enemies like consecrated beasts), but that might just be me being used to it lol, I got Raiden before Kuki, so that might be a part of the reason why I like it so much.
@@ginger2114 yeah xingqiu does a lot of carrying in terms of dmg reduction, which is already comfy enough for most abyss floors. but agreed some of those aggressive enemies can really be a pain

My alt account started just 2 months after the 1st one was created during launch, I did took some hiatus on it but then because I made the account to have keqing, a week later I finally got her on main, yeah was messed up XD, but anyways I resume playing it during inazuma release and kept playing it since, there were few events that I have missed, didnt have enough time and 2-3 I complete forgot to do, rarely miss daily and resin burn, but other than that it was fully grown account, except I didnt bother abyss with it, and I awalys try to wish for chars I dont plan on getting on my main except some few, ayaka, because I didnt I'd like her back then, then I realized I wanted her on my main, and the other one is lady furina, well because its lady furina, the others are yoimiya, itto, ayato, baizhu, wrio, haitam, wanderer, cyno, kokomi and shenhe, the standards are c4 keqing, c3 qiqi, tignari and jean, 5 star weapons from standard are amos bow, gravestone, skywardspine and 2 aquila favonia, with that being said there are still a lot of unexplored areas and quite a few unfinished quest(main is 100%), if I have to guess could probably get 1 to 2 5 stars worth if all explored? not sure, but yeah to give you an example of what a full f2p account would look like from dec 2020-jan2021 and july2021 up to present, do I regret building this account? hell yeah I do, I cant abandon it XD.

In the beginning especially if you're someone who's not familiar with gacha games and also the mechanics of the game not that fully explained unless you watch a video tutorial of it on TH-cam, it was not surprising making tons of mistake early game.

I started 5 months ago in September 9 i guess so i pulled Hu Tao cuz my pity was high and I didn't know about meta so it happened by itself then i pulled Ayaka in 4.3 and now i pulled Nahida in 4.4 i lost 1 50/50 to keqing on Furina banner now i don't have even 1 complete team and i feel like i messed up cuz who to use with Hu tao and who to use with Ayaka no idea just put them in same team😭
well there are a lot of 4 star characters who are really good and can complete your teams!
@@noodleGI i use Hu tao, xingqui, diona in 1 team and last slot is empty and i use Ayaka, barbara, Qiqi and sucrose in 2nd team but not impressed by sucrose work she is useless and Barbara as well and i couldn't even do 11th floor 2nd chamber😭
@@Sushi_sann well i think sucrose fits decently well on the hu tao team, it can be like a budget VV vape team. also sucrose shares a nice em buff with the whole team that hu tao can benefit from. and diona is a nice battery for ayaka!
