    Just bought the railed version, used from GB. I am a huge 1911 guy and I have several TISAS 1911's. They are all trouble-free. I have always wanted a stainless semi-auto. Prices are only going to rise, so I grabbed one before they sell for a grand. I hate to carry my Colts because they might get scratched! LOL

    So i purchased the sds imports carry 45b and have had it for about a week. A couple of interesting side notes on this gun. The frame slide and barrel are all forged carbon steel. They are parkerized then cerakoted. The barrel is hard chrome plated. The mainspring housing appears to be machined steel along with the grip safety. I couldn't find any seams that would indicate casting or mim. The slide stop also appears to be machined steel. The only parts that seem to be cast or mim are the hammer, sear, and disconnector but they seem well done. The slide to frame is tightly fit from the factory with a slight amount of movement after break in. So far its been incredibly reliable and impressive. My only complaint was the springs and the barrel bushing. I ordered new springs from wilson combat and i am replacing the recoil system with the nighthawk everlast system. The barrel bushing was loose on the slide and loose to the barrel so i installed a spare wilson barrel bushing i had in my parts bin. The bottom edges of the slide have been deburred so no sharp edges to cut you. I like it so much i ordered a stainless carry and im waiting on it to ship. I will be ordering a full size as well soon. These sds guns are very nice guns. Far better than the older zenith imported tisas. It feels like a kimber in hand with a looser fit barrel.

    For some odd reason I've been amazed the look of the 1911 guns and I finally decided to purchase my first person gun and I was in between a Glock or 1911 but every friend I know would recommend me to start with a Glock but this 1911 is amazing. Thank you for the awesome review! Will keep watching your videos for any other gun I get next!

    I have the stainless duty and absolutely love it. Better fit & finish than the kimbers I was looking at with a much lower price point and don't get me started about colt....not paying $2k for a weapon from a manufacturer that's had questionable qc for quite a while. I carry my tisas stainless duty almost exclusively. I trust it and am extremely familiar with it and have decided that this one will never be sold or traded, ever.

    If anyone doesn't know, Turkish guns are top fucking notch. Canik, Tisas, and Utas are top of the line. The Canik TP9SFX is an absolute beast race gun out of the box. Even the basic Tisas 1911 (base model of the one in the video) is excellent. I've owned both for years. Utas makes the UTS-15 shotgun which is amazing to shoot, sadly I do not own one yet. Soon though.

    I bought the Tisas Service model chambered in .45 acp about a month ago.Havent shot it much yet,only 50 brass case fmj,100 Wolf steel case FMJ and 50 PMC hollow points so far.8 round MecGar mag it comes with has worked flawlessly while I see others with more expensive guns say they have to buy WC mags to feed HP rounds reliably.It has better fit and finish than a "comparable" RIA,ATI and the other "budget" priced 1911's.It is tighter and still smoother than those others.Has a VERY well done black Cerakote from the factory.Runs smooth as a hot knife thru butter.And accurate when I am,I am more used to revolvers.
    I'd buy another one,actually looking another one now to use for a build.

    Just came back from my lgs where I handled both the railed and non-railed versions of this gun. Granted it is fairly low in price but there are a lot of sharp edges; the thumb safeties were very light and did not activate with any authority; the triggers were 1911 but somewhat heavy; with my smaller hands at times the trigger wasn't activated because the grip safety wasn't fully depressed; and finally the grips were plastic. After break-in and with some new grips they probably would make good first time 1911s

    • @slinkyrobb
      @slinkyrobb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree about the safety feeling weak. I replaced my plunger spring and spring pins with with wilson combat parts and the safety snicks firmly and clean. Feels like a whole new safety. The trigger pull is an ungodly strong main spring, replace it with an 18# or 19# and it lightens up to a clean 5.5 pound trigger with a pefect wall and short positive reset. The recoul spring is sketchy too so im replacing mine with a nighthawk everlast system. Seriously just replace the springs and guide rod and you have one hell of a gun

As a tactical firearms instructor who teaches 1911 classes, it has all my "personal" requirements for a 1911...forged frame & slide, series 70, bushing style barrel, GI guide rod & plug, ect. I just ordered 2! Thanks for the great review!!

      When i checked the website they say hammer forged barrel but i cant find info saying forged frame. I use to own a tisas 1911 carry that had a cast frame. Had a hammer forged barrel. Sanded the frame to give a polished flats look and found small air pockets in the frame. Cast frames are usually a little thicker so i wouldn't worry too much either way

    • @slinkyrobb
      @slinkyrobb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I contacted sds and all their 1911s are hammer forged frames, slides and barrels. I bought one to check it out and even the grip safety, mainspring housing and slide stop appear to be machined steel. No seams. Only thing that looks to be cast or mim is the ignition components.

      I would not worry about it at all. The .45 ACP is a fairly low pressure round so the recoil is more of a push than a snap. Not unpleasant for women. Two of the women in my office have shot one of my 1911's and now they are fans of the platform.

    • @tattoochef
      @tattoochef 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The recoil on a all steel 1911 isn't too bad. It's comparable to a sub or micro compact 9mm shooting hot loads. Be firm behind the gun and you will fall in love. This guy is letting the gun move around too much.
