  • "Mona Lisa," written by Ray Evans and Jay Livingston, was created for the 1950 film Captain Carey, U.S.A. and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song that year. Nat King Cole's rendition of the song became iconic, capturing the essence of the Mona Lisa's mysterious smile and comparing it to the enigmatic nature of a woman's heart. Cole's smooth vocal delivery and the song's timeless melody have cemented it as a classic in American music history.
I’d rather like this arrangement myself, it was done after I tried to arrange the Grieg and Rachmaninoff concerto no. 2 for piano solo. Hopefully some of the style was rubbed off in this one.
