your arrangements are incredible...sophisticated, subtle, elegant. LOVE LOVE LOVE....I especially love the harmonizations ..all those augmented 9ths, the minor seconds played simultaneously, etc etc etc I am classically trained but adore jazz too

Classical piano is my background too, but an uncontrolled addiction to the sound of 2nds, 7ths, 9ths, 13ths and altered dominant chords draws me to jazz and classical / jazz hybrid style. A few years ago I played nothing but jazz for a couple of years then went back to some classical repertoire and my left hand could not play octaves without playing wrong notes; it was too used to playing 7ths and 9ths.

@@kerawelt2008 You can make good progress if you just learn about upper structure dominant 7th chords and also tritone substitutions. Also, with dominant 7th chords, get in the habit of not always including the 5th. The 5th is nearly always there in classical music, but in jazz harmony it gets in the way of more colourful tones such as the 13th, the sharpened 11th and the flattened 13th.
I love this version. I play the George Shearing version of this and I thought that arrangement was as beautiful as it could get. You definitely have a fan.
