- Thrustmaster has unveiled a sim racing replica of the 2020 Ferrari Formula 1 steering wheel.
The Formula Wheel Add-On Ferrari SF1000 Edition has a 100% carbon fibre faceplate, textured rubber grip, more than 20 buttons and switches and a 4.3-inch dash with LCD display.
Live telemetry - including up to 69 items of information can be displayed on the screen, including crucial data like tyre temperature and wear, fuel usage and lap time delta - is available on the dash through what Thrustmaster calls “native integration of the screen in the game” on PC and the PlayStation 4 and 5 models.
Wireless telemetry connectivity is available for Xbox users by configuring the wheel using the Thrustmaster TM Connect Web platform.
The fully-licensed wheel has been designed in cooperation with Ferrari and will be compatible with Thrustmaster’s T series base, initially launched in Europe with just 1000 available units at a suggested retail price of £329.99 (€349.99/$349.99).
It will be launched later in Asia (May 18) and North America (August 26).
There is also the option of buying 100% aluminium ‘T-Chrono’ paddle attachments (£54.99/€59.99/$69.99), which have a bounce time of less than 5 milliseconds.

for the price, this is insane. sad that I switched from thrustmaster to fanatec. now I want to switch back. oh well here's hoping fanatec will do the same with a similar price
Look at Thrustmaster stepping their wheel game up! May have to try to adapt one to the accuforce v2. Now they just need to step up their competition in the wheel base segment

I think everyone thought it was going to be actual carbon fiber. From the looks of it, it's completely all plastic. So, not really surprised at the price. The screen is the most expensive and impressive part of this wheel. Though, I'd gladly give up the screen I'll probably never look at during a race for a higher quality build.

@@ccramit The screen is actually the cheapest part of the wheel it cost 10 dollars - 20 dollars on most electronics sites such as digikey, id say your mostly paying for the branding and a little for the software

I had the playseat before I got my profile rig, it was really good actually, very comfortable. One thing I would recommend is to get your monitor a bit closer, as I'm a cheapskate I managed this by buying a cheap sawhorse from my local hardware shop for about $20 and mounted my monitors to it and it was really good actually. Another couple of monitors is totally worth the investment IMO.

I have the original TM F1 wheel which is a replica of the 2011 Ferrari wheel but none of the dials work and there is no screen.

Seems like there is quite a lot of latency between info changing on the SF1000 wheel display, and the in-game display. I've paused the video a few times and counted the frames between the in-game display showing a gear change, and the wheel display showing that same gear change. On average that was about 7 frames of difference. Which at the 30 frames per second framerate of this video, means there is a 233ms delay (ignoring the already existing latency between the steer input, video card and monitor). This is consistent with what I saw in videos from other youtubers showcasing this wheel.
This seems as quite a lot to me in a racing game where milliseconds matter. And this is in native mode, not even in the Wi-Fi mode that presumably adds even more latency. I hope this will be improved with some firmware or software updates, because other than that this seems like a great wheel.
Michael Schumacher was known now as the differential king, more then any other driver he would push the car coming in and out of corners to there absolute optimum. But you have to balance it with tire ware.

Right now I’ve got the Ferrari f1 rim and open wheel rim (5s with dash app) and the LED display addon for when using Brawn etc. with an iPhone 7 attached and running a race dash app. It’s epic, but this is what I’ve been after. I do get tired of charging 2 iPhones depending on which car I’m using with which rim (PC2 etc), but I’ve got 5 rims now and swapping is a pain. The LED addon I barely use. I think if I get this it’ll be my goto rim if driving one of the top 3 cars. Any other team the open wheel rim and 5s attached will be perfect. Also it seems a reasonable price for this rim, a bit of a bargain. Only worry is do the clutch paddles foul my retro chrome ‘elephant paddles’ taken from a t500 and fitted to my t300 base. This is all getting quite complicated now! Sometimes i find I spend more time playing with these toys and setting them up, than actual racing! Also just got a 70” TV just for my sim setup, so I really need this rim in my life. It’s a shame it appears to be sold out right now!
With this steerin wheel, your game will be opened with windows 95, and f1 will run in black and white

Lol. TS-XW on a playseat. That takes me back to my original setup. It’s actually not as bad as you would expect. I really hope this wheel is better than the old Ferrari F1 wheel where all the front switches were just stickers over switch like mouldings.

Shame about the clicking noise from those 5ms paddles. For someone who doesn't use headphones while playing, they are too clicky. I assume your can't hear it notice it with headphones. You need to reach out to Samsung to er test the big 49 inch curved oddesy screen. Would love to see that game running on a large screen. Great video. Fantastic looking wheel though.
Why this whole setup and then use such a small monitor? Also why have the double info? What's the point of the steering wheel in the game hud if you have it in front of you? Why not get rid of that? Lastly, seems like there is half a second delay between the game and the wheel (at least based on dash information).
The America's have to wait until August 26th 😥, hopefully I remember to log on and try to get one then!
