I’m not opposed to EVs, but as we move closer to all vehicles being electric, people will have to decide wether to own a house or a car. The prices for EV technology is absurd. Great review as always sir!
@@pkingpure100 $40,000 may be budget for EV's, but it's not actually budget. When you can get a Maverick for around $20,000 brand new, EV adoption will remain very low.
@seismic64, please tell me where I can purchase an EV with a 300 mile plus range for less than $50k. Maybe your income allows you to see these prices as “affordable”, but my income doesn’t give me that luxury. I can buy a brand new Corolla for about 30k and get about 40mpg.
@@seismic6435 Cheapest new EV is the Nissan Leaf at $27,000. The only other choice I know of under $30,000 is the Mini Cooper SE at $29,900. Compare that to a $20,000 Toyota Corolla, and the 10 or so choices of new car that is close to $10,000 less than the EVs. Those aren't absurd prices and the difference is huge to those in a post recession economy. The only reason an EV *could* approach the cost of a new combustion car is the tax credit, but given 70% of EVs won't meet the 40% made in America requirement, I doubt the cheap ones will be any cheaper.
Having a professional guiding you is very important in this kind of trade, without proper mentorship one can easily opt out of the market when not supposed to.

Im not happy they're going full EV, they should've kept two separate models (one gas and one electric). A muscle car is not meant to be all electric, theres a reason people buy them as opposed to Tesla. Design however is good, and great review Joe

Dodge interiors were cheap because the cars were cheap. Then the Italians figured they could crank the prices and now a scat pack is $55K with a rubber dashboard, reaping profits and not updating the PRODUCT. A fake leather stitched dash (like Audi uses) is about $15 dollars after volume is accounted for, and they sell a ton of chargers. No reason the interior couldnt have been updated over the years. They did a HUGE update in 2011, but its still the same in 2023 lol

And that’s even if you can get one at MSRP lol. Once a label and marketing gets slapped on top of it that’s what you’re paying for, and they know it
I can't imagine how hard it'll be to repair even the slightest fender bender in one of these things. Insurance companies are probably licking their lips at how much they'll be able to charge for yearly premiums on all these new EVs.
Forget a fender bender...just wait till it comes to the batteries!!! CURRENTLY they cost $12k+...a piece!!! INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE #NOT COVERING THAT!!!.....
@@gotime1236 OK and? $12k is a great price. An engine replacement these days is close to that and takes a week. A battery swap is same day. Oh and the fed warranty onnthe battery and motors is way longer than anything you get with an ICE.

I’m actually stunned by this Dodge Charger SRT AWD. It’s absolutely gorgeous. My only complaint is two things. 1. The outrageous price of $100K & 2. It’s Electric. I’m curious if it will include fog lights & will it come with a panoramic moonroof or convertible since they’ve given it a glass top. When a manufacturer goes retro they always put the price through the roof. If they would actually make these vehicles affordable since they’re making this design extremely desirable they would actually sell a lot of them. This design also reminds me of the Barracuda too. I don’t think they would have to make too many modifications to make that happen. The key to design is to not make it ugly. For some reason, manufacturers have in their heads electric is equivalent to ugly that’s why they’re not selling. Plus, the batteries are still catching fire. That should have been worked out by now.
I’d be bitching more that we are all paying for this through our tax dollars to make it $100k. Not only would someone have to pay the $100k, but the rest of us have to pay the other half of what it actually costs to build these cars.
The design is cool But the fact that it’s an EV it will never feel or sound like a true authentic v8 muscle car no matter how much they try to amplify the sound to make it feel real. I understand the manufacture’s are going electric now because the government is forcing them too. It’s just sad to see a generation of these types of cars come to an end RIP to the true V8’s
So true. It's the reason and Joe & Lori review of that VOM Camaro that I ordered my 2022. Loving the last of the V8's with quad exhaust tips and real sound.
tbh a lot of us only care about the look. the fact that its gonna cost less on fuel beats the v8 real sound. the real question is how reliable its gonna be. i mean it would be better if they could keep gas and ev at the same time but i guess its a company decision

After being anesthetized with bubble shapes for just about every EV on the road, how refreshing to see Dodge re-think the whole EV design language and apply real design talent to this Charger. There is no mistaking this for anything but a muscle car. Love all the design touches, especially the R-wing. The designers nailed it! I'm ready to order one.
@jonnysrevenge Nope, I'm serious. I like this machine. I also like modified piston driven air breathing machines that pulverizes asphalt. Let's face it, EV's are the future whether we like it or not. I will admit I am on the fence with the fake noise - will have to see what this is like in person. As far performance, let's hope this is Hellcat territory. if Tesla can do it with the Plaid, so should the boys at Dodge.
Awsome tech but they should've went with the practical setup of a hybrid with a smaller but supercharged v8, room for superior aerodynamics and the electric for the torque and to fill-in the gaps for shifting gears, not to mention range and less issue with charge time.🤔
I am not sure why hybrids are so rarely used. It is a reliable and extremely efficient system. Toyota has been doing it successfully since 1997. It is proven technology.
@@SophiaAphrodite exactly one would think these companies like g.m. and ford would be smart enough to understand and not go fully electric just yet. Just look at the acura nsx, porsche 918 and other performance hybrid vehicles.
Definitely a cool looking ride. Nothing will ever replace combustion engines as far as a mechanical driving experience. But props to dodge for putting the effort in.

I've got a '71 Buick Riviera with a 455 V8 that I don't plan on selling. But for my daily I can switch to electric. I don't mind. When I get the itch for internal combustion I'll drive my classic.

I love the way this cat gets down low and ain't scared to analyze the smallest of details. This is exactly how I would be checking a thing out if I was deciding if I wanted a car or not that has to be checked for to be sure it still carries the history to the name on this modern version. If I felt it carried that same soul, i'd buy, if not, I wouldn't. Loving the small details brother. Keep it up and thank you!

Love that this will bring pressure on other American manufacturers to do EV sports cars that really focus on fun and not just performance, although it seems to be promising that too.
I haven't been watching this channel for too long but I can tell you that Joe and Lori are the best at reviewing automobiles! He has just the right amount of facts, enthusiasm and funny meme's. The sound and speech volume is great and Lori's hand on the camera is as steady as they come. The end product is top notch.
Love everything about the design (exterior, interior, lighting). The sound is just a little odd and feels forced. I think if it’s an EV do it 100%, don’t imitate the combustion sound. I did really like the low hum, the revs are what throw me off. However, It’s not a deal breaker. This thing looks amazing.
The low hum was actually nice...... When it was reeved it sounded like a loud hairdryer..... But I like the concept, and I'm sure it will be refined, and in 20 years we will forgot what the Hell Cat sounded like.
I will put an order on it, and i didn't like the ice versions somehow because i'm from Europe but this thing is so freaking Epic.. this is what i want to own as ev so badly.. mean muscular, AWD raw and fast..
Never been a huge fan of heavy straight line American muscle especially the recent plastic remakes but I have to say, they are giving you an amazing carbon fiber interior and some nice shoes for the price although it’s electric now.
Just so you know. None of this will make it to production (including the 2 doors, it's a 4 door car). It will he 75k base. Considering that virtually all of the people willing to pay the ridiculous prices for the Scat Packs and Hellcats these days are taking put 20% interest loans and parking their cars on the street in the ghetto I don't really think that there will be much of a market for this. Rich old men bought muscle cars like the Charger and Challenger because they wanted them as kids. Nobody wanted this as a kid
I feel like one of people's biggest complaints about the 2022 Golf R was that there were no physical controls for anything infotainment. After I bought the car and tested it for myself I can say that it can be annoying when the system doesn't feel as fast as it should be (laggy inputs and controls etc.) so I am interested in seeing what Dodge does with that. Also interested in seeing if people resting their arms on the door cause any issues...
For years, mankind has been crying left and right why there isn’t “future looking cars” in the 20th century like in the movies, now we have futuristic looking cars and people are upset that it isn’t the ideal muscle car, I mean this looks great in my opinion! @@ketlingambriz If it was a wide body, that definitely wouldve gotten mentioned. The body is type wide but not the fenders. But if they dont have a wide body. version of this, they'll be aftermarket wide body mods.
What....or just enjoy the electric car?? What an effort, why would people be dealing with gas engines when they don't need to. Super hard to fix, tons of moving stuff and hoses and pressures etc, things can leak, always have to maintain crap and change fluids, always messy and oily, the engines are loud, smelly exhaust fumes etc it's just downside after downside. WHY would you want a crude gas engine like that when you have a simple motor battery setup that's smooth and quiet, easy to use and understand....! You should be happy it's finally electric and you don't have to know or do things with some rats nest engine.
The exhaust notes sound like a video game, but the design is 🔥. Great review. Nice combination of futuristic styling, engineering, moving with the times.

The interior is GORGEOUS and the exterior is an amazing modernized design of the 60s and 70s chargers but the sound just doest sound good. The hum was nice but the revs seem so forced. EVs have a really unique sound that really encompasses that futuristic feel of them. I think if they strayed away from mimicking a combustion engines sound and went with amplifying that whine and hum that electric motors make, it would be so much cooler

Remember it's nothing but an old pissy automatic electric piece of junk. You just can't get the enjoyment of a real muscle car out of a simulated sound and automatic transmission. When you have an actual real flat plain crank V8 with a manual clutch and a six-speed then you've got a real muscle car. But that damn thing is ugly as shit. It doesn't look as good as the Dodge Challenger. And who in the hell would want an electric golf cart with doors
I don't why car enthusiasts wouldn't be excited about this car. It's totally badass. There's only a few downsides: 1. Not practical for apartment or condo dwellers. 2. No affordable models for longtime Charger/Challenger fans. I think that Dodge s showing us the possibilities. EVs don't have to be bland and boring. They can be stylish and have great character and personality which is one of the things that has made many American cars desirable for generations. After decades of driving Japanese economy cars, I revisited American cars with my past two car purchases (Mustang and Charger). Because, although my Japanese cars were a bit more reliable, they were also bland and boring and they lacked character.
I don’t really care for the revs but it sounds EVIL cruising around at slow speed. Huge fan of that. Also love that it’s a hatchback. I’ve never been into challengers or chargers or really dodge in general, but this is incredible and hopefully the production version will be close to this. I think you’re right about the $100k for the top trim, they’re probably getting ready for the E-Ray!
I went from a Hellcat- TRX- Tesla... I know crazy but I bought into the hype. Sense day one ive been saying that they missed the entire "Carguy" market. Its all or nothing and its simply missing the driver/vehicle connection Dodge had introduced to me through the supercharged V8's. Im so happy to see them enter the market in this way and would be pumped to be in one hopefully someday soon.
THATS MY MAJOR COMPLAINT as well .. Wish it was done like inside the RAM ! NONE of them compare to that ( that I’m aware of) these look like an afterthought
this car is legit. I can honestly say dodge did their thing with this car. they definitely took some cues from some of the foreign brands but still stayed true to its original roots
Love the design! The front end with the integrated headlights and front scoop is perfect. Also I really enjoy the full rear bucket seats. Carbon fiber...NICE! The drive options was definitely the smartest move to have both rear wheel and 4wd. I want to experience the transmission like settings and the artificial sound in person. I imagine you could turn the sound off but it also doubles for a pedestrian safety feature.
I really do love the styling of this vehicle. Funny thing is I had a 91 Daytona that had similar concept with the notch back. I think it’s an excellent idea to bring that back

I just can't get beyond the lack of manual gearbox in EV - I feel like this would be an amazing show car and definitely fast.. but just don't understand how I'm ever going to get the feel of a manual performance car ever again.
@@duck8280 Well, not impossible. It's purely 1 gear right now, because they use electric motors that are very powerful, to compensate for having to gear them- Similar to early steam / ICE engines. If they want to make them more efficient, they can use smaller motors and gear them just the same. Just a matter of time really.
This is what I wish the current generation of Chargers looked like. My first car was a 1968 Charger and this one just nails that look perfectly. I'll never be able to afford it, but I will look forward to seeing the first one pass me on the freeway.
Did you 68 charger have oil injection? That the 440 2 stroke v8 you had. What brand of 2 stroke did you run . I had an old 69 deville I filled with pennzooil tcw3 and premixed 50:1 with 93 gas. The looks I would get at times when I filled up were something. I had a John Deere 440 74 JDX8 when I was I kid and I ran the cars I got with the same mentality and it worked great. Niw I got a 2 stroke 8v92 Detroit that work on BRP XD-100 etec oil. 2 stroke tink is so much fun. I was not familiar with the chargers/challengers then.
The yellow concepts floating around with the 69' front face would be way to go. . . . . the rear is terrible . .. way to short looking. . . . please look at car market, resto mods are what people want. old style with new amenities/ tech. Just use same body and update. WHY reinvent the whole car? wasted time and energy, that is what the car people want.
It’s just that below 30• degrees the range on one charge is 120 miles brand new. Once the goofy updates melander burn through the vital infotainment system things get poofy.
Definitely pretty cool and very futuristic. Has the blade runner type feel. I’m not big on them just canceling the gasoline muscle lineup. I think that’s a pretty bad move at this point. The pricing is just not there yet for EVs. They’re still very expensive to buy and work on.
@@daMillenialTrucker I would never own Stellantis stocks but it's not crashing it's doing pretty well lately. It's +216% since 2016. (Stellantis has FIat Chrysler). In case you don't know what I'm talking about: The Chrysler brand is part of Fiat Chrysler, which merged with the parent company of the Peugeot brand in 2021 to create a new company called Stellantis. In other word, stock hasn't crashed. I would enjoy the new charger with an Hellcat engine though as I had a 2017 Charger Hellcat and much prefer the look for the new one back its roots with 2 doors and look.
Hopefully it looks like this for production. I like the tunnel back on the original one that wished they made it that way. Not a big fan of the electric cars but this one may change my mind. Let’s just wait and see…
I only wanted a Tesla Model 3 because it doesn't look like a Prius. However, this Dodge Electric Charger might blow the Model 3 away, and regardless of the price, I'm gonna have my eye on it, because this is what the Electric Mustang should have been, and instantly kill Tesla's momentum right there.
@@zamora3D maybe. I won't hold my breath, so unless the Dodge Electric Charger meets expectations as far as looks go (I'm confident all of the internals will be there) I'll set my sights on a Tesla Model 3. Of course, there's the chance that it could be better looking in that it could be sharper.

I noticed when you put the back seats down, it looks like a futuristic pod, ill give points to dodge for the design and details theyre were the last ones i ever expected to critique in that category so yea it looks really nice
This is literally the dodge we’ve pretty much ALL been asking for. A more newly, updated feel, interior wise. They could’ve kept the exterior the same, but I like it don’t get me wrong. But that more “luxurious” feel to it, while still having that “speed” determination. It’s everything a man could ask for.
Sound is a great innovation, but it needs to be randomized (maybe with AI?). The rev sound sounded exactly the same every time they hit it. It sounds like it plays a different sound depending on how quickly the gas is pressed, but the same clips are used in each case. Mix it up to make it realer. I do like the cat like sound

Especially how long it will hold a charge being a performance car. That sound needs to be modified, or eliminated totally. I think, with or without the "muscle car sound", it's still an awesome car. I both love and hate this car. It looks really striking and the sound isn’t that bad actually. It reminds me of the sound they put in the 80s movie “The Wraith” for that Dodge M4S Interceptor concept. And the design cues remind me of the early 2000s Charger Concept they had. But it’s still an electric car and I’ll always love a good ol V8. Very conflicted but kudos to Dodge!

Beautiful car! I only hope the production model comes out soon and looks just about like this one and this video. Also, a good choice of colors available both on the inside and the outside with Leather would be outstanding. Lastly, maybe a convertible might be available- we'll have to wait and see. Right now, I'm this close to getting my order in for 2024. Corvette E-Ray and that's supposed to be one killer of a ride but 0 to 60 and 2.5 or less seconds and also with all-wheel drive. And if this car gets produced the way, and I hope it will, I'm very, very likely to consider selling my E-❤❤Ray for this Dodge Daytona SRT. Just don't make us way too long for this car. Awesome video guys! I think Dodge maybe should have postponed showing off the sound of this vehicle LOL. I like that they're trying to keep this from looking your average EV on the road. Hope a lot of these design elements end up on the production model! Hatch back usability on a coupe is a big win in my book.

@seismic64, please tell me where I can purchase an EV with a 300 mile plus range for less than $50k. Maybe your income allows you to see these prices as “affordable”, but my income doesn’t give me that luxury. I can buy a brand new Corolla for about 30k and get about 40mpg.
@@seismic6435 Cheapest new EV is the Nissan Leaf at $27,000. The only other choice I know of under $30,000 is the Mini Cooper SE at $29,900. Compare that to a $20,000 Toyota Corolla, and the 10 or so choices of new car that is close to $10,000 less than the EVs. Those aren't absurd prices and the difference is huge to those in a post recession economy. The only reason an EV *could* approach the cost of a new combustion car is the tax credit, but given 70% of EVs won't meet the 40% made in America requirement, I doubt the cheap ones will be any cheaper.

Dodge interiors were cheap because the cars were cheap. Then the Italians figured they could crank the prices and now a scat pack is $55K with a rubber dashboard, reaping profits and not updating the PRODUCT. A fake leather stitched dash (like Audi uses) is about $15 dollars after volume is accounted for, and they sell a ton of chargers. No reason the interior couldnt have been updated over the years. They did a HUGE update in 2011, but its still the same in 2023 lol

I’m actually stunned by this Dodge Charger SRT AWD. It’s absolutely gorgeous. My only complaint is two things. 1. The outrageous price of $100K & 2. It’s Electric. I’m curious if it will include fog lights & will it come with a panoramic moonroof or convertible since they’ve given it a glass top. When a manufacturer goes retro they always put the price through the roof. If they would actually make these vehicles affordable since they’re making this design extremely desirable they would actually sell a lot of them. This design also reminds me of the Barracuda too. I don’t think they would have to make too many modifications to make that happen. The key to design is to not make it ugly. For some reason, manufacturers have in their heads electric is equivalent to ugly that’s why they’re not selling. Plus, the batteries are still catching fire. That should have been worked out by now.
I’d be bitching more that we are all paying for this through our tax dollars to make it $100k. Not only would someone have to pay the $100k, but the rest of us have to pay the other half of what it actually costs to build these cars.
The design is cool But the fact that it’s an EV it will never feel or sound like a true authentic v8 muscle car no matter how much they try to amplify the sound to make it feel real. I understand the manufacture’s are going electric now because the government is forcing them too. It’s just sad to see a generation of these types of cars come to an end RIP to the true V8’s

tbh a lot of us only care about the look. the fact that its gonna cost less on fuel beats the v8 real sound. the real question is how reliable its gonna be. i mean it would be better if they could keep gas and ev at the same time but i guess its a company decision

After being anesthetized with bubble shapes for just about every EV on the road, how refreshing to see Dodge re-think the whole EV design language and apply real design talent to this Charger. There is no mistaking this for anything but a muscle car. Love all the design touches, especially the R-wing. The designers nailed it! I'm ready to order one.

I will admit I am on the fence with the fake noise - will have to see what this is like in person. As far performance, let's hope this is Hellcat territory. if Tesla can do it with the Plaid, so should the boys at Dodge.
Awsome tech but they should've went with the practical setup of a hybrid with a smaller but supercharged v8, room for superior aerodynamics and the electric for the torque and to fill-in the gaps for shifting gears, not to mention range and less issue with charge time.🤔

I am not sure why hybrids are so rarely used. It is a reliable and extremely efficient system. Toyota has been doing it successfully since 1997. It is proven technology.

It's not for the masses because very few will be built. Dodge is late to the party and don't have production manufacturing built out.
I love the way this cat gets down low and ain't scared to analyze the smallest of details. This is exactly how I would be checking a thing out if I was deciding if I wanted a car or not that has to be checked for to be sure it still carries the history to the name on this modern version. If I felt it carried that same soul, i'd buy, if not, I wouldn't. Loving the small details brother. Keep it up and thank you!

I haven't been watching this channel for too long but I can tell you that Joe and Lori are the best at reviewing automobiles! He has just the right amount of facts, enthusiasm and funny meme's. The sound and speech volume is great and Lori's hand on the camera is as steady as they come. The end product is top notch.

Love everything about the design (exterior, interior, lighting). The sound is just a little odd and feels forced. I think if it’s an EV do it 100%, don’t imitate the combustion sound. I did really like the low hum, the revs are what throw me off. However, It’s not a deal breaker. This thing looks amazing.

Never been a huge fan of heavy straight line American muscle especially the recent plastic remakes but I have to say, they are giving you an amazing carbon fiber interior and some nice shoes for the price although it’s electric now.
Just so you know. None of this will make it to production (including the 2 doors, it's a 4 door car). It will he 75k base. Considering that virtually all of the people willing to pay the ridiculous prices for the Scat Packs and Hellcats these days are taking put 20% interest loans and parking their cars on the street in the ghetto I don't really think that there will be much of a market for this.

I feel like one of people's biggest complaints about the 2022 Golf R was that there were no physical controls for anything infotainment. After I bought the car and tested it for myself I can say that it can be annoying when the system doesn't feel as fast as it should be (laggy inputs and controls etc.) so I am interested in seeing what Dodge does with that. Also interested in seeing if people resting their arms on the door cause any issues...

It's a widebody but the accents are more rounded rather than muscled.

What....or just enjoy the electric car?? What an effort, why would people be dealing with gas engines when they don't need to. Super hard to fix, tons of moving stuff and hoses and pressures etc, things can leak, always have to maintain crap and change fluids, always messy and oily, the engines are loud, smelly exhaust fumes etc it's just downside after downside.
WHY would you want a crude gas engine like that when you have a simple motor battery setup that's smooth and quiet, easy to use and understand....! You should be happy it's finally electric and you don't have to know or do things with some rats nest engine.

The interior is GORGEOUS and the exterior is an amazing modernized design of the 60s and 70s chargers but the sound just doest sound good. The hum was nice but the revs seem so forced. EVs have a really unique sound that really encompasses that futuristic feel of them. I think if they strayed away from mimicking a combustion engines sound and went with amplifying that whine and hum that electric motors make, it would be so much cooler

It doesn't look as good as the Dodge Challenger. And who in the hell would want an electric golf cart with doors
I don't why car enthusiasts wouldn't be excited about this car. It's totally badass. There's only a few downsides: 1. Not practical for apartment or condo dwellers. 2. No affordable models for longtime Charger/Challenger fans.
I think that Dodge s showing us the possibilities. EVs don't have to be bland and boring. They can be stylish and have great character and personality which is one of the things that has made many American cars desirable for generations. After decades of driving Japanese economy cars, I revisited American cars with my past two car purchases (Mustang and Charger). Because, although my Japanese cars were a bit more reliable, they were also bland and boring and they lacked character.

I don’t really care for the revs but it sounds EVIL cruising around at slow speed. Huge fan of that. Also love that it’s a hatchback. I’ve never been into challengers or chargers or really dodge in general, but this is incredible and hopefully the production version will be close to this. I think you’re right about the $100k for the top trim, they’re probably getting ready for the E-Ray!

I went from a Hellcat- TRX- Tesla... I know crazy but I bought into the hype. Sense day one ive been saying that they missed the entire "Carguy" market. Its all or nothing and its simply missing the driver/vehicle connection Dodge had introduced to me through the supercharged V8's. Im so happy to see them enter the market in this way and would be pumped to be in one hopefully someday soon.

Love the design! The front end with the integrated headlights and front scoop is perfect. Also I really enjoy the full rear bucket seats. Carbon fiber...NICE! The drive options was definitely the smartest move to have both rear wheel and 4wd. I want to experience the transmission like settings and the artificial sound in person. I imagine you could turn the sound off but it also doubles for a pedestrian safety feature.

I absolutely hated the body redesign of the charger when it came back in 2006, still do. But this….this is perfect.

@@duck8280 Well, not impossible. It's purely 1 gear right now, because they use electric motors that are very powerful, to compensate for having to gear them- Similar to early steam / ICE engines. If they want to make them more efficient, they can use smaller motors and gear them just the same. Just a matter of time really.

This is what I wish the current generation of Chargers looked like. My first car was a 1968 Charger and this one just nails that look perfectly. I'll never be able to afford it, but I will look forward to seeing the first one pass me on the freeway.

Did you 68 charger have oil injection? That the 440 2 stroke v8 you had. What brand of 2 stroke did you run . I had an old 69 deville I filled with pennzooil tcw3 and premixed 50:1 with 93 gas. The looks I would get at times when I filled up were something. I had a John Deere 440 74 JDX8 when I was I kid and I ran the cars I got with the same mentality and it worked great. Niw I got a 2 stroke 8v92 Detroit that work on BRP XD-100 etec oil. 2 stroke tink is so much fun. I was not familiar with the chargers/challengers then.

The yellow concepts floating around with the 69' front face would be way to go. . . . . the rear is terrible . .. way to short looking. . . . please look at car market, resto mods are what people want. old style with new amenities/ tech. Just use same body and update. WHY reinvent the whole car? wasted time and energy, that is what the car people want.
It’s just that below 30• degrees the range on one charge is 120 miles brand new. Once the goofy updates melander burn through the vital infotainment system things get poofy.
Definitely pretty cool and very futuristic. Has the blade runner type feel. I’m not big on them just canceling the gasoline muscle lineup. I think that’s a pretty bad move at this point. The pricing is just not there yet for EVs. They’re still very expensive to buy and work on.

@@daMillenialTrucker I would never own Stellantis stocks but it's not crashing it's doing pretty well lately. It's +216% since 2016. (Stellantis has FIat Chrysler). In case you don't know what I'm talking about: The Chrysler brand is part of Fiat Chrysler, which merged with the parent company of the Peugeot brand in 2021 to create a new company called Stellantis. In other word, stock hasn't crashed. I would enjoy the new charger with an Hellcat engine though as I had a 2017 Charger Hellcat and much prefer the look for the new one back its roots with 2 doors and look.

I only wanted a Tesla Model 3 because it doesn't look like a Prius. However, this Dodge Electric Charger might blow the Model 3 away, and regardless of the price, I'm gonna have my eye on it, because this is what the Electric Mustang should have been, and instantly kill Tesla's momentum right there.
It's not gonna look like this at production. Dodge will add the ugly egg shape curves like they do with all their cars, I guarantee it.
@@zamora3D maybe. I won't hold my breath, so unless the Dodge Electric Charger meets expectations as far as looks go (I'm confident all of the internals will be there) I'll set my sights on a Tesla Model 3.
Of course, there's the chance that it could be better looking in that it could be sharper.

I noticed when you put the back seats down, it looks like a futuristic pod, ill give points to dodge for the design and details theyre were the last ones i ever expected to critique in that category so yea it looks really nice
That full length center console with rear bucket seats is a throwback nod to the original '66 / '67 Chargers.

This is literally the dodge we’ve pretty much ALL been asking for. A more newly, updated feel, interior wise. They could’ve kept the exterior the same, but I like it don’t get me wrong. But that more “luxurious” feel to it, while still having that “speed” determination. It’s everything a man could ask for.

Sound is a great innovation, but it needs to be randomized (maybe with AI?). The rev sound sounded exactly the same every time they hit it. It sounds like it plays a different sound depending on how quickly the gas is pressed, but the same clips are used in each case. Mix it up to make it realer. I do like the cat like sound

Especially how long it will hold a charge being a performance car. That sound needs to be modified, or eliminated totally. I think, with or without the "muscle car sound", it's still an awesome car. Hats off to Dodge for making electric but not boring. 👏 👏 👏 👏

I both love and hate this car. It looks really striking and the sound isn’t that bad actually. It reminds me of the sound they put in the 80s movie “The Wraith” for that Dodge M4S Interceptor concept. And the design cues remind me of the early 2000s Charger Concept they had. But it’s still an electric car and I’ll always love a good ol V8. Very conflicted but kudos to Dodge!

Looks pretty good! Definitely see some styling cues from the 66-70 Chargers. I’m not too crazy about the wheels. First we had fake exhaust and now the fake sound to go with it. Ugh! The interior looks great. Thanks Joe and Lori for keeping us posted on the latest news! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

Beautiful car! I only hope the production model comes out soon and looks just about like this one and this video. Also, a good choice of colors available both on the inside and the outside with Leather would be outstanding. Lastly, maybe a convertible might be available- we'll have to wait and see. Right now, I'm this close to getting my order in for 2024. Corvette E-Ray and that's supposed to be one killer of a ride but 0 to 60 and 2.5 or less seconds and also with all-wheel drive. And if this car gets produced the way, and I hope it will, I'm very, very likely to consider selling my E-❤❤Ray for this Dodge Daytona SRT. Just don't make us way too long for this car. Thanks, Dodge. ❤️👍🙌

Awesome video guys! I think Dodge maybe should have postponed showing off the sound of this vehicle LOL. I like that they're trying to keep this from looking your average EV on the road. Hope a lot of these design elements end up on the production model! Hatch back usability on a coupe is a big win in my book.

If you don't see it that way, then good for you. Enjoy used versions from the 14 year old platform built almost entirely from poorly recycled milk jugs
