It could have if he went fast enough. I did that when I was 18 in my Cadillac going across a railroad crossing hill at about 50 miles an hour. I'm lucky no one was on the other side of the bridge and that it didn't destroy my car. More than 20 years ago, so ya know. Not the wisest decision I ever made, but it was fun as hell!
@@christopherwellman2364 What happens when you get to the other side of the draw bridge and you’re starting at a 10’ rise in elevation and you’re at almost 90 degrees pointing down ? You gonna jump that too ? So no it’s technically impossible to finish jumping a draw bridge unless the bridge operator closes it before you reach the other side of the span. Can’t believe people think it’s possible.

We seriously need to remove the worst 10% of drivers from our roads. This was not the first time this guy was driving while distracted. It was damn lucky he was heading into a draw bridge and not into school zone or an area where pedestrians might be crossing the street.

Honestly on acts like this alone I think people should lose their license… the law has become to leant when it comes to unsafe driving or people doing questionable things… where I live people drive crazy and just about every day I’m almost in an accident due to someone just not paying attention or because of pure entitlement and them not wanting to share the road

If you are comfortable with guys like this on the road, more power to you. I am not comfortable myself, and frankly, I think the only reason you are is you don't fully grasp the danger they expose you to. If that's the case, you probably don't fully grasp the danger that distracted driving truly represents which suggests you probably practice it yourself.
This, in my book places you firmly in the worst 10% of drivers camp, so I can understand why you would object to removing the worst 10% of drivers from the road.
Rather than complain about it on line, why don't you work on improving your driving habits. After all it is something you can control. It just takes a little work. And a bit less entitlement.

This can even happen if the act takes place while doing something unrelated to flying. For example, if you get a DUI while driving a car, you can lose your pilot's license.
More than 1 airline pilot has lost his or her job getting a DUI just once.
Personally I think we should have standards closer to what is required to get and maintain a pilot's license for a driver's license.
For a pilot's license you have to fly with an examiner from time to time to show you can still safely fly the plane in addition to taking a written test.
The last practical driving test I had was on December 30, 1985. By 16th birthday more than (OMG) 36 years ago.

DoobieR no doubt. Lightest cars I've ever owned were a Corrola and a Ford Focus. Both around 2400 pounds. This beast is easily two of those cars. These trucks are heavy. Just the drivetrain alone is about a thousand pounds.

Smart cars, beetles, Fiat 500 are all under 2000 pounds. All three of them are INSANELY common.
And there are plenty of cars that are just above 2000 pounds. Infact I think cars weight less now then they used to on average. In terms of small cars.
SUV and pickup obviously gotten bigger over the years tho. Although you would be right saying that SUV weights much more then 2000 pounds
Most sedans average around 2700lb. And the USDM Fiat 500 weighs almost 300lb heavier than the European version that weighs almost 2200lb.
The Mitsubishi Mirage is between 2,017 lbs and 2,117 lbs depending on how many optional extras are fitted. 2,017 lbs can arguably be rounded down to an even 2,000. But that tahoe/suburban certainly can't be rounded down.

But you have to realize getting a new traffic arm to the location could take a couple hours at least.

This happens because of the attitude, "it won't happen to me. It always happens to someone else.". That is why people also text and drive. No matter how many bad stories they hear, the always have that cocky attitude that it won't happen to them. Then it does and they act surprised.
People don't have to text and drive to be distracted. People could be staring at the road and their mind being in a totally different place this is the majority of distracted driving.
