I was thinking of doing a 1000 mile oil change on my car as well. Thank you for this video showing me how I can do it. Will always lubricate the O ring.
this is the same engine as 18-24 camry A25A-FKS. I use 0W-16(recommended)or 0W-20. It will also take 5W-30 if you cannot find thinner oil. Just change it back to 8/16/20 at 5000 miles.
Stick to 0w30 or 5w30 these new oil viscosity is just to make sure the engine doesn’t last long I got a 23 Camry and a 25 Camry both use 5w30 in summer and 0w30 in winter
Per the owner's manual, the '25 Camry can use 0W-16 for only ONE oil change, then you have to go back to 0W-8 (which is no longer difficult to get). Do not use higher winter oil. And you check the oil level when the engine is up to operating temperature and the oil has expanded.
@@rachelgreen1368 That "asian water" is made by Mobil Oil. Me thinks you have a very weird bias about engine lubricants. Do you design oil formulations for Liquid Moly perhaps?
@@dsfgdsg233 right. i will also switch to mobile 1 at some point in time. i cant change oil myself, my friend has a workshop i will take my own oil and i will pay him 20 bucks to change. the only thing is that Toyota oil which Mobile makes might be having proprietary additives.
@@yassermian9913 you’re good, i guarantee you changing your oil more frequently (every 3000mi) have much more benefits than using “OEM” Engine oil. Full synthetic oil are generally similar in performance across all the big brands, some have more additives and some perform better in the cold, but they’re all decently good.
Good job! Yeah for years in my Toyotas I only use OEM filters in fact only OEM parts over all. Sometimes more expensive upfront but on my 310,000 mile 2009 Corolla it’s kept it running like a fine machine never regretted it
these modern car engine's oil pumps are electronic and calibrated for 0w-8, so experts say that stick to what Toyota's says. but i don't agree with Toyota saying that change your oil at 10k miles. Even Toyota experts say change at 5k or less.
Car is tilted up in the front. Not all the oil will be drained. Car should be jacked up to be level for draining and filling. Should use a torque wrench to tighten drain plug. Over tighten especially with aluminum oil pan will strip the thread. Happen to me once and never over torque plug again. Filling with 4.5 quarts when you did not drain all the oil. Sounds like over filling. Then checking oil level with cat tilted gives wrong reading. So many things done wrong. Sorry but not useful video.
The rubber O ring on stock Toyota OEM filters are already pre-lubricated, so don't need to rub engine oil on it anymore
Well said

The Toyota filter comes pre lubed
Thanks for the video, it was needed
That color is awesome
I appreciate the video I gave you a 👍. If you ever change your transmission fluid can you please do a video thnx looking forward to it.

please make more videos showing your self your really good at how to videos
You should pre fill the oil filter before installation. Always replace the crush washer.
Always replace the crush washer
thank you for making this vdieo.
Just realizing if you put 18 inch rims on your Camry le it would look pretty badass
NOOO!!! THEY WENT BACK TO THE UGLY SCREW CAN TYPE!!!😭😭😭 I like the one that you have to use a specific socket to remove the plastic cap.

0w8 is water. I always use 0w40.
@@rachelgreen1368 In a car that specifies 0W-8?? Why? Are you more experienced at knowing what oil is best for your engine than the manufacturer?
@@rachelgreen1368 unless you drive like a maniac or live in a extremely hot climate theres no need for 0w40
l like real oil with Euro approvals from Porsche and Mercedes. Not Asian water.

wise decision, but why not getting original Toyota oil. also i believe Toyota must have given you10k and 20k free oil change right?
because it's just rebranded mobil 1, might as well get it cheaper by buying mobil 1.

0w-8 is crazy that shi look like water🤣🤣🤣
Did you really scrape the bottom of your car as you entered the garage?
I thought all 2025 camry are all hybrids.
@@LouieRey-n1y they are
i did not see you torque the drain bolt other than that a good job
I would have replaced crush washer. Never reuse.
i do my oil changes every 3000 miles
you will not have any engine problem and it might run 400k miles
Stick to 0w30 the engine would last much longer
Agree, especially of you live in hot summer environment.

0w20-0w30 would be my choice

hybrids should not be overfilled because engine start/stop happens at 800 rpm and it makes a huge splash inside engine.
