"It's so easy, we'll have Cassie do it!" "Wait what?" 😆 I'm setting up a RTK breakout at the moment on a Linux box, hopefully to get it running as a rover.
G'Day from Oz. I currently run a GPS/GNSS unit with 0183 NMEA output for my old Oziexplorer mapping program on a laptop in my 4wd. The Australian Government has been testing the SBAS L1 system (called SouthPAN) apparently if you have the appropriate antenna & receiver, corrections can be made via satellite, no subscription service required? There is no internet or mobile coverage in the remote area of Australia where I use this mapping system for setting out the annual event so that would be the perfect answer for me. While there is a fixed trig point nearby unfortunately the area to be mapped is over 20kms, we've even had a surveyor struggle with his RTK using a base over that point & a rover, even though that equipment is many thousands of $$. Would it be possible to use this unit for mobile use on my vehicle to set out the roads & areas without the need for a base? I do this for my club & is very much a budget self funded exercise, so costs is what has stopped me from using any surveying type equipment. I feel if I had the right app, I could also use my mobile phone & connect that to the fixed unit to more accurately find a point if needed? Any advice would be great!! Cheers!
Ok so L Band mean it's all all L1 , L2 , L5 ect GPS/QZSS/Glonass/BeiDou/Galileo grabs all available? ... and can be use with any APP Android & ISO? .. because I so One better APP instead SW MAP app
I just ordered a Facet to survey a property we're building our house on in North Texas. I heard Cassie say you would soon have support for iOS devices. What's the timeline on that? In the meantime, I plan to use an 8" table w/SW Maps connected to the internet via my iphone. Any issue with that?

Rob and Cassy thanks for your video. Can a facet be used to provide correction data for another one over WiFi or Bluetooth?

Worked great! However, the unit won't charge so it will be going back. Very disappointing..
