Controlled breaking (snapping) models are all similar, like the Abus Bravus. If you want the best cylinders available today they are: Abloy Protect 2, Dom Diamond and Keso 8000 Omega Premium. If you have one of these you are safe except if your door's frame is of wood instead steel, then do something against a lever attack
Yale TS007 Platinum 3-Star .. If this was the thumb turn version, would it be still be susceptable to a Sparrow bypass tool that can turn the cam? Or is there something to prevent that on these 3 Star locks? I don't understand why standard thumb turn cylinders allow direct access to turn the cam 😲. Update: Seemed a bad idea, but realise that it serves a purpose on standard cylinders; allows the key to orientate the thumb turn ready for use.
I wonder if you could make something that covers the outside of a core, similar to your pusher, however this would be something you would push the core through so you don't have to risk losing pins. In effect, your third hand.
i work as a software developer and sit in my office and watch LockPicking videos on YT...pls someone stop me, i don't even own a picking set... ps: pls make a tutorial on how to handle laser cut sliders!
How does that insert deter drilling? I'm gonna guess that is a abrasion resistant material. I'd imagine a blow torch and a well placed hammer blows into the fastener while hot would work if very desperate but you managed to gorilla it anyway. Never tried it on something that small but works wonders with other stuff. Although do so in a well ventilated area like outside, red loctite has some nasty stuff in it.
Some retailers are referring to this as a 22 and even 24 pin 🙄. Maybe they think that a double sided key means double accounting the number of key pins and slider pins, then adding more for good measure 😂.
All our doors in our flats have these locks, and after watching it being picked, I was a bit alarmed at how easy it was, but then I have tot remember that this is Bosnianbill doing the picking. I have personal experience of what it takes to get through these UPVC doors with their multiple points of engagement and those locks. couple of years ago there was an unfortunate incident and a resident died in the flat and the police used their big iron 'key' they were banging on that door for ages, in fact for over 30 minutes it sounded like an earthquake. they did get in eventually the door, and frame were totally fubar and they actually secured the door till it was replaced with a chain and lock run from the railings opposite the door, as no other solid point remained. In hindsight either side of the door were two windows, which they could have put through in seconds.
I would say it is not bad, but there are a lot of better options available. When you consider that the lock is one of the last barriers keeping intruders at bay (as well as protecting your family & all your stuff), cost should not be the first consideration. Here are some options: locklab.com/home-security/which-lock-should-i-buy/
There is a saying in among the computer programmers world: If I code, there is always someone who shall uncode. In my early days, 1966, I developed and implemented a computer software package for ASSA STEMAN Security Systems. I learned a lot about LOCKS and LOCKING DEVICES ... I don't know how good are they now or whether they still exist? Quote: THERE IS NO COMPLETE SECURITY. ALL WE DO IS TO MAKE IT MORE DIFFICULT. For most lock cylinders the simplest is to drill the cylinder to open and then install a replacement. It is the most effective and the most economical. Most House Burglars avoid such cylinders, however, even such a cylinder is not safe from the drill.
The best are: Abloy Protect 2, Dom Diamond and Keso 8000 Omega Premium but don't forget to install a good defender like a Disec or Azzi Fausto, British don't use defenders on their doors.

I don't understand this video, so, is this cylinder a good one or not ?
i work as a software developer and sit in my office and watch LockPicking videos on YT...pls someone stop me, i don't even own a picking set... ps: pls make a tutorial on how to handle laser cut sliders!
I have one in the collection....the sliders can be tough to app for me.
Although do so in a well ventilated area like outside, red loctite has some nasty stuff in it.
inserts are harder than most drill bit metal so the pins just mangle the end of the drill bits.
I just fitted 2 of these and one of them the key is tight to get in I have to jiggle quite a lot is this normal
As Ave would say, why are you using your hand like a vice when you've got a vice?
I was going I sleep. Then Bill uploaded...
Some retailers are referring to this as a 22 and even 24 pin 🙄. Maybe they think that a double sided key means double accounting the number of key pins and slider pins, then adding more for good measure 😂.
Excellent video, Thank You for sharing.
I think this is a great lock for business.
I enjoy your videos a lot thanks for making them
Have you ever picked a vehicle ignition lock?
The cops never enter through a window even if its insecure and easily boarded up afterwards. Its health and safety!
used to hate cutting those keys. especially when I customer walking in at 5 mins to closing and wants 6!
tell them to jog on lol unless you charge £10 per like me.
So whats your reviews it s safe lock or not?
I would say it is not bad, but there are a lot of better options available. When you consider that the lock is one of the last barriers keeping intruders at bay (as well as protecting your family & all your stuff), cost should not be the first consideration. Here are some options: locklab.com/home-security/which-lock-should-i-buy/
Great picking Bill as always..
I have a ultion, I have heard its easier than yale to pick, paid top dollar for it, any info or input on the subject, thanks,
The best are: Abloy Protect 2, Dom Diamond and Keso 8000 Omega Premium but don't forget to install a good defender like a Disec or Azzi Fausto, British don't use defenders on their doors.
Bosnian bill would be great if you could explain sliders to us in a video.
it being a 007, maybe you should have used a vodka martini (shaken, not stirred) to steady your hand:). Great rundown of uses for third hands too - I'd thought the background noise was treefrogs previously (bearable) but a neighbour with a chainsaw... set loose the gun carriers:)
Blue loctite responds well to heat from a heat gun.
Just a suggestion for mics, a contact microphone would probably convey whats happening with the lock much better.
1:23
Don't worry, you could put the mic in a blender and it would still be half as loud as your intros manage to be
damn bill I do like to hear those clicks, but I love all of your videos you don't need to change a thing good effing job on that lock and thank you!!!!
What level is your lockpicking? I got mine to 43 but I don't think I'd be able to get this open without using a million picks.
Sure would like to see you put that back together.
We had to snap one of these which did snap with our tools as the owner lost the keys
had to bust out the brownelles magnatip kit on this one
Probably used locktite "red" (yes, I know the color is blue, but that has little relevance) on those initial screws; a little heat may have helped it come out a little easier... maybe. :)
well done Bill, nice pick
Nice picking Bill! Very nice lock to! I really enjoyed watching you pick this lock! I am going to have to get some locks with sliders because I have never been able to get one as of now but hopefully I can get one soon!
Very nice lock. Great pick!
Hi Bosnianbill, does anyone sell practice locks for cylinder locks with side bar?
Check with Jimu57, he occasionally sells them in his eBay store. www.ebay.com/str/locksportusa
