  • Welcome to a new full flight of video. This kind of video where I try to add most of the raw footage I film on every flight from gate to gate. This time, although most of the time we have relative a nice flight, after the initial descent we hit a thunderstorm that made the airplane shake very hard and passengers screamed and ladies were so worried. I must say it Wass scary for me too. I add beeps on some parts because people were saying bad words. I hope you can enjoy the complete video and can share it.

    I've been in this type of turbulence before over thunderstorms in Nebraska here in the United States. Horrible. In talking to a pilot friend he tells me pilots do not worry or get scared in turbulence because they understand it. Most times the plane is bouncing around 3 to 8 feet up and down, kinda like a bumpy dirt road. It's not alot of up and down but feels way worse than it is. If you saw the tests the engineers put these planes in the factory thru before flying you'd understand these machines are very sturdy.

    Although un nerving, it posed no harm what-so ever to the aircraft. I took a flight over the mountains and we hit severe turbulence at 33,000 feet. everything loose including passengers flew. More than one person said a prayer. When we landed,my Dad a pilot at the time spoke with the flight crew who pulled the aircraft out of service for a structures check.Just think of it like a rough , gravel road and the bumps like passing a crossroad. The unnerving thing about turbulence is that you don’t know if it’s just the weather, or a mechanical issue that is ultimately going to lead to a plane crash. Every plane crash started with turbulence.

      Turbulence or chop is never reported as limited or scattered in aviation. Scattered is used for convective activity, nothing else. Makes me question if you were a real F/A.
      Less than 1/3 of the time is reported as occasional turbulence/chop,
      1/3 to 2/3 of the time as intermittent and more than 2/3 of the time as continuous.

    I fly the A320 NEO around a lot in a simulator, and boy can it withstand a lot of wind! On Airbus, the weather radar in the nose of the plane will indicate any storms on our navigation display. We can then use selected heading mode to steer around the bad weather. And well done Frontier pilots for buttering the bread on touchdown!

    No offense, but that was a piece of cake. I've been on some flights that were choppy AF. First time going “Across the Pond” to London /Heathrow with the ex on Air India, (yeah, that was a hoot! The next stop was Bombay /Mumbai nowadays )very unnerving! Transatlantic flights are almost always rough at times., although on two different occasions coming back to BOS from Shannon (Ireland ) and Munich, Germany, we're as smooth as glass, thank God! Guess it depends on the time of year. I LOVE to travel. I enjoy Ireland and Germany, and the reality is that one has to fly in order to get to those destinations. Flying to SFO from Boston /Logan it gets kind of rough when you go over the Rockies, and of course down the Eastern Seaboard at times down to TPA, that can be a bit of a roller coaster as well..

    I landed in Seattle in a Blizzard. Went from clear skies and sun above the clouds and as we descended to the clouds, it was pitch black looking down. When we hit the clouds it was like hammers as big as the plane were smashing us. This was a United scrappy old 757. Totally scary ride and people looked like they were riding a bucking bronco.
    The ride in this video was nothing. I have been next to panic-ers that frankly you want to tell the to shut the F&&k up. They are also the ones that upon landing, ignore everything coming over the PA, act like jerks and you really just want to kick them up the ass.

      When I put my head down low at seat level, you could looking forward, see the plane bend while it bounced up and down. These things really flex. But they are strong.

      I find i'm less nervous about turbulence on descent because it's more common as you descend through different layers of weather and you know landing is soon. Turbulence in cruise particuarly on a long haul makes me more nervous as sometimes it can last for hours.

    • @rexx9496
      @rexx9496 ปีที่แล้ว

      When there's a turbulent descent all I can think is please don't let us have to go around, please don't go around...When those wheels hit the ground it's the biggest sigh of relief ever. But there have been a few times where I'm clenching my first on descent, we're just about to land, then the pilot hits full throttle because it was too bumpy to land and I'm like ugh....another 15 minutes of this s**t. :(

    While flying out of Okland we had a lay over in Vegas right when Vegas was having it's annual rain like hell day and we got shook to shit. My wife and I took turns holding our 2 year old son to avoid paying for a extra seat so now we were struggling to keep him in our laps, the fight attendant sat right next to my wife on her armrest and was holding both herself and my son so they wouldn't hit the overhead compartment. As we landed the cross winds were so strong I could see the entire runway from my window. I thought we were going to scrape a wing or even worse like scraping our sculls on the runway with lots of fire and mayhem.

    i like how people yelped and then laughed and continued on! honestly, i love things like turbulence because it reminds me that yes, the plane is still running and that i am not still in the air. flying is so unique. im also not very motion sensitive, so take off and descent do not make me feel funny in any way. and in a plane you are going 400+mph and yet, it feels as if you aren't even moving most of the time. truly unreal!
