Heritage is such a profoundly beautiful album, it's music speaks to the soul. No wonder many people didn't get it.
Kshitij Tiwari agree with you man... heritage took the sound and concepts of opeth to a different level.. it takes a lot of time to like it.. wen u strt to understand it.. you understand what an amazing album it is.. although "Famine" is my favourite song from it..

Yea, Heritage is dark as fuck and really evil at times. It's not an easy record, with heavy songs. Not heavy in tone, but heavy in composition.

One of the reasons I will never bash HERITAGE...this song is on it. It's one of their best.

why bash any album? I think Opeth's albums are nice in many different ways!
Yeah, I mean in overall I don't like some things about the album, but the first time I listened to this song I was shocked! That solo is a clear representation of "less is more" on the guitar.
This song has such an eerie tone to it. I love it. It’s very much an opeth tune. It sounds like where him and Steven Wilson went with storm corrosion. It almost could be in that lp.
I know I was thinking that, Heritage has many Storm Corrosion snd Steven Wilson vibes, especially on this and I feel the dark

I love how they can play anything from their older shit at anytime, bands like Tool have a set play list for every concert, it says alot about the writing and how some bands will let go of thier past because of the anger that they possessed but the past should be embraced for it formed who you are today.

Adam, what recording equipment did your friend use? Just curious, the sound quality is amazing
It was actually just a little Canon point-and-shoot. I remember it being from the SD line but I don't recall the model. He has long-since replaced it. I used TH-cam to stabilize the footage. I should revisit the raw files because I could now do a much better job on my own.

Heritage was an unusually dark album
Parts of this song sound like something off Damnation or Deliverance. I’m not a fan of Heritage, but this song is great.
