    I feel like mobile games should start including more extensive and clear resolution options, and it's also crazy how slow the adoption of high framerate in mobile games is being, considering we've had high refresh rate mobile screens it for like 3 years now.

    • @ETAPRIME
      @ETAPRIME  2 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      Yeah, I’m confused on why we haven’t seen this yet. Mobile games are making so much money right now you’d figure they be on top of it by now.

    • @fabiosarrica379
      @fabiosarrica379 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@ETAPRIME I'd also like to see more console ports to mobile. I don't really play mobile games at all, but it is super interesting to see how games that we're used to see being played on big boxes are able to be translated to tiny devices that consume a fraction of the power mostly unscathed! It would be interesting to see you tackle the new Alien: Isolation mobile port.

    • @notyourbusiness1352
      @notyourbusiness1352 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Mobile phones are having high refresh rate screens, but they are centered for display. For games, mobile hardware is still hard to push to super high framerates with very low-powered CPU & GPU compared to consoles or PC. I think it's possible with more powerful mobile hardware. Also, we have temp issues. To not set the phone on fire I guess there are compromises they have to make since phones are too small to have large cooling systems. Allowing phones to push super high fps by game devs can also cause overheating, but power limits in phones should do the job.

    • @fabiosarrica379
      @fabiosarrica379 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@notyourbusiness1352 While I agree with you, it's also true that not even less demanding games have adopted an option to look smoother on faster displays. And also, why not at least give the option to uncap the fps even if the device can't handle the full framerate? This also plays into what I was saying: if mobile games had more detailed options for graphics tweaking, it might allow folks who prefer it to play at higher fps while compromising detail and resolution.
      For heat, there's no real concern as the kernel and governor should be the ones responsible in limiting the performance when things get too toasty. Hopefully we get something better than the Gen1 soon

Perks are it still has a 3.5mm jack and SD card slot. Though chip, android, and phone are older, still works well running retro and android games. What we need a minimalist is an Android App the can truly act as a Miracast Server and side load that on the Quest. So running Samsung Dex on phone will see MiraCast network and it shows up in the list. I have tried to sideload MANY software on Quest and can not get it to show up in Dex wireless options. Whilst this is undoubtedly nice, the fact that Motorola is only offering it on higher end models is a shame but not surprising. I agree that the ready for naming is silly.
    What we really need is more phone manufacturers adopting USB-C 3 as a standard, automatically supporting some form of video out. A desktop mode isn't really necessary because there are launchers that could easily handle what many might use. It's just a change of hardware. There is a massively gaping hole in the low to medium end of the market to implement it and make phones even more versatile.

    1. Decent CPU GPU (SOC)
    - At least can play pc game 1080 high 90fps (at least drop not below 60fps)
    2. SSD or NVME or new type that can acces or read/write faster for more storage or heck even removable storage. Need for big size game at least like GTAV
    3. At least get pass like Xbox gamepass for console gamer to convert their platform to support this technology.
    4. Charging or battery support or WIRED POWER without damaging battery life.
    5. Port is a must or extension you know?
    At least this is what i hope for
