I thought you said there's a chance of Hazel recovering for the head tilt and its not permanent?
@@WhatDoesntkillYa Yes, there was a chance, but after about 3 months it's looking like it's permanent. We were of course hoping for a full recovery, but we're thankful that he's at least able to have a good quality of life even if the head tilt is permanent.

This was adorable to see! Happy to see Hazel moving around so well and having the new little guy might help him get stronger too. It was very scary seeing Hazel's head go upside down when you picked him up, but he looks so confident when he's on the floor. I'm glad to hear and see he's doing better.

Poor Hazel, everytime I saw his head tilt I started to cry. 😢😢 I'm so relieved to hear he's doing okay. This is one of the most precious, beautiful, endearing bun bun videos. 💖💖💖💖🐇💚💚💚💛💛💛 seeing all those boys bond was so beautiful. 💖🐇💛💚

I feel horrible for Hazel and it's difficult to see him like that, but I am encouraged by his level of activity, and to know that he's eating well, and having sweet cuddle time with Bigwig and baby Apollo. Wishing him wellness!

We have never had rabbits that liked other rabbits. LOL. Just our blind girl - she'd have liked a companion but our lad who we got her for HATED her. So we had two separate rabbits! lol. These guys are gorgeous.

Pipkin would have been an amazing name (a nod to the 1998 animated series, where he remained a perpetual baby).
I love that Apollo is getting along with Hazel and Big Wig, hopefully they have an amazing life living together. Apollo is the most adorable rabbit I have seen since, I hope Hazel can get over this hard time of her life and be super healthy!

I'm very glad to hear that little Hazel is doing better and that the rabbits are getting along to well! I think living in harmony within his little group, is the best thing that can happen to a rabbit in his condition. 💚
She has enough energy for all the people. Surprised the rabbits in shelter have not had heart attacks yet... Skipping the coffee today and just watching AnimalWonders instead. 😵

Do you have any advice for us?
That's so exciting to hear! I wish you all the luck in the world. My biggest piece of advice is to know what your goals are and always make sure your actions bring you closer to that goal. It may take time, so celebrate small victories as much as the big ones because every improvement brings you closer to your goal.
I forgot to answer your first question 🙃 I'm a firm believer in experience. So getting these degrees will be really helpful, but nothing compares to hands on experience so make sure you're connecting with other animal facilities for that needed knowledgeable.

I have seen it repeatedly with my mischief. babies introduced to an aging group often seems to rejuvenate even the seniors.

Maybe, and a lot are. It can takes months of treatment, but the fact is in quite a few rabbits, some degree of head tilt becomes permanent, although usually treatment at least improves the condition so the rabbit can live a pretty good life overall.
They're all so small 🥺 I have two mixed breed rabbits, one is mostly a flemish giant, the other is supposedly half netherland dwarf, but she's still bigger than big wig, so I guess I'm just used to big boi bunnies 😄

I know they don’t prefer it but I’d like my rabbit to be at ease a bit when I hold him.

He's still with us. On the most recent visit from our vet she said, "Well he's looking old.", and he is old, but he's doing well for an old guy ❤

i was wondering if there was any way you could surgically "reset" hazels head to sit in the right position (just wondering)
No, it wouldn't work and at best you risk death or paralysis for no benefit
How did you get bigwig used to being held like that?
Will Hazel get better or will he always have such a tilted head? It must be challenging to navigate when your head is upside down 🙃 Also Apollo is sooooo cute! 😍
