    Hi Paul, we are a client based Marketing Firm. I use Portfolios for each of my clients to house their current projects. How can I look at a timeline that includes all of my portfolios? I.e. I want to have a comprehensive look at all of my client portfolios and subsequent projects in calendar or timeline form to compare them against each other. Thanks! Loving your videos as a first time Asana user.

      It sounds like you would need to add all client projects to one big portfolio. That way you can see the status and progress of all client projects at once.

    Hi Paul - I love your Asana videos. My portfolio timeline view only has the milestones and does not show the whole project duration bars like in this video. Do you know if the timeline bars are no longer a feature? Or if I just am not activating them. Thanks!

      Make sure you've set the project start and end date from the Portfolio list view and this will update on the timeline.

    Have you moved away from the Calendar project and Kaban project for the big picture like in your previous video? Great videos btw

      Hi Jeff, thanks for the feedback! Yes, I'm not really using the Kanban board any more. I'm really just using the timeline now (which used to be called 'Calendar')

    Hi Paul, I couldn't easily find the answer so posting here. In timeline view, how do you set colors of tasks?

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The colours are derived from either the tag or custom fields on the task. So that's where you need to change the colours. At the top of the timeline, you can change which field gets used in the timeline.

    Hi Paul, can you set up recurring tasks up? I.e Weekly stock take task for example. You mentioned in the video you have some online training courses, where would I find those? Regards, Dominic.

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dominic, yes you can do this by clicking the little recurring arrow icon in the date picker (when you choose a due date). You can learn more about my course here; paulminors.com/consulting/asana-consulting/ Please let me know if you have any questions.

    If I have a certain project that I want to set tasks under, would I do it as a goal with sub tasks or would I do it under the my tasks section?

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would just go to the project/section where you want to create the task and create the + button. You could create it on the My Tasks page as well and then choose which project/section to add it to from there.

    Hi, Paul, I'm confused! I'm working with an agency via asana; they send me copy, I edit and return via asana. agency tells me I’ve returned the wrong docx. Or they say can I return the docx with the tracked changes (which I've just sent them.) What’s happening?

      Sorry Hazel this is a hard question to answer without seeing your Asana account I'm afraid. I'd suggest talking with them to clarify how they want you to use Asana.

    It seems free and premium accounts don't have access to the "goals" feature. Is there a workaround for this? Like a faux project that be set up to function similarly to "goals"?

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct. Goals is part of Business. Some people get around this by creating a 'Goals' project and then multi-homing tasks from the Goals project into other projects that they're related to.

    Hi Paul! I'm a first time user of Asana and i would like to know how to add sub-section on "Today"'s section? Like on your old video of this. Today section had 'Morning', 'Afternoon' and 'End of the day' Subsection. I want apply Eisenhower's Urgent/Important Principle on "My Tasks - Today" section.

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm afraid this isn't possible any more due to some changes that were made to the My Tasks page. You can still create sections e.g. 'Today - Urgent' using the Tab + N shortcut, but you can't create sub-sections any more.

    Hi Paul, how do you create sections for your subtask (planning , production etc) as in 10:23?

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. This is done with the keyboard shortcut Tab + N.

    Hi, is it possible to connect between the goals and the portfolio? are they speaking the same language?

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can link a goal to a portfolio. The use case here is that you can show which projects or portfolios are related to a goal. i.e. what work supports the goal.
