    So tactical and detailed. Awesome video! Helping team at a transit agency implement Asana as go-to PM software, so lessons learnt will be huge to successful adoption.

    Great video and demo! I can see why some people might choose to track their tasks as a Project instead of My Task. Projects offers the board and My Task only offers Lists and Calendar.

      As of a few months ago, you can now view your My Tasks in the board view as well now.

    One problem we are having which is literally killing our workflow is that let’s say a meeting or a task is recurring; any notes we add in the description area it stays and so we end up with a long list of notes that aren’t being categorized and updated properly.

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd recommend putting these nots in the comments instead as the comments reset each time.

    Great. I have been looking for someone who can explain things easily and I have finally found you. Paul may I have one question? You suggest that in order to avoid setting up too many tasks in Asana it is good idea not to assign the task to yourself. But isn't there a risk of forgetting the task because it won't be in "My Tasks" and you might not notice it in "Projects" in time? Thank you

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Pavel. Good question. Yes there is this risk so one option is to do some kind of 'weekly review' where you go through each project to review any unassigned work and decide if it's time to assign it to yourself so you can take action.

    • @kartheevidya
      @kartheevidya 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The other way, this can be managed is, have a tag called 'Assign to Yourself' so that you can go to that label, see the tasks and assign it to yourself!

    Is there a way of adding a project to another board? So on the board you can show what projects and other tasks a team are working on?

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm afraid you can't add a project to another project. But if you have Business, you can add projects to a Portfolio so you can easily see a high-level overview of how different projects are going.

    • @pp2devane
      @pp2devane 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@minor-co My boss asks our team to maintain a team board which says what we're working on / will work on / finished. But the tasks on this board often (but not always) also have a project board. So it's annoying having to maintain the progress of both. Do you think the portfolio feature could replace this team board?

    Thank you Paul - can I link a task due date to be linked to another task. I'm a Homebuilder so for instance - the main task is Window Jobsite Delivery - the linked subtask would be Order Windows which I want to set up within our template to be be due 35 days prior to the delivery date. Is that possible?

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That kind of dynamic date modification isn't possible natively but can be done using Zapier if you know how. Feel free to contact me here if you'd like to learn more: paulminors.com/contact/

    Why do you choose to use Loom rather than the video option within Asana?

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm now using CleanShot X (not Loom) and I like using this as I often make videos for other things, not just in Asana. So it's nice to have one tool I can use anywhere.

    Hi Paul we have to pro version and im currently trying to sort out a Project Que where teams request a certain mount of hours of support per a week for X amount of weeks- Given that we have say 40 hours a week is there a way to represent the amount of hours free/ que projects in teh que / how long untill the next one is free, is there a way to do this visually?

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It sounds like you need to use the Workload feature that comes with the Business subscription. Have a look at this video: th-cam.com/video/i8GjxJqPni8/w-d-xo.html

      Hi Emily, there is no workaround in Asana I'm afraid. You could try the free version of Instagantt and sync to Asana though.

    I'm confused on the terminology. I setup project workflow board, I know I can add a task. That’s fine. What I’m looking to do is add a project template to the workflow board.

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm afraid you can't add a project template to a board. The board IS a project already.
