This is one of my favorite songs to cover at shows, but hardly anyone knows it. Still do it anyway 🤟 So sad because man this one always hit deep with me. Sooo slept on. Long live Stereofuse!!!
2022.....For some weird reason this song title popped into my head but I couldn't remember the band so I started frantically googling trying to figure out the name....I remember back in 2003 I worked for JCPennys and they had this song on the stereo system, not sure how I figured out the band name but I remember buying this CD. Anyways, to find this song I remembered the CD case had a shopping cart so I googled CD CASE WITH SHOPPING CART......Such a weird and fun 5 minutes walking down memory lane.... Miss those days! Music is powerful!!!
I have NEVER known the bands name. I heard this song over and over on the radio and I swear every time I tried to get a name I couldn't. I am so happy I found this
It's the 14th of July right now, and it always makes me think of this song. A girl I dated even had this birthday so it was easy for me to remember LOL
Colin passed away? I'm so sorry to hear that. I knew him back in the early 2000's. I searched and couldn't find anything... and it just so happened this song came on my playlist today for the 1st time in years today. Do you know and/or mind sharing what happened to him?
You know when you watch a music video and you think to yourself “Wow. This is such a time capsule.” This video gives me that feeling in spades. To the point where it’s almost eerie and haunting. But like in a good way. The washed out colors. The angsty post grunge music. The objectively handsome frontman with the soul patch who also plays the protagonist in the music video. The empty and barren locations that the video take place in. It’s all such a great capture in time of the music that was popular, and the formula that a lot of the music videos of that time followed.
Damn going through some heartbreak and realized I been playing this ballad every time like this since I was 15. Not giving up that my true love is still staring at the moon the same time as I am. Don’t worry babe. We’ll be together someday.
I'm from Dallas and I very vaguely remember this song circulating around in 2001/2002, but I didn't hear it again until today on Pandora. It's an amazing song...but I'm kind of wondering WTF is going on in the video lol.
8 years later... I knew the singer, Colin. He was living right by ft worth at the time. Which is why you must have heard it more around TX. I asked him wtf was up with the video and he said he didnt even know. So theres that! 🤣
great song, I feel like this about my girlfriend. But were going to break up in one week because i have to go to boot camp and techschool for the airforce. and would do anything and give everything just to stay with her.
The lyrical content is a bit different from breads version, but the chord progression and chorus are almost identical.. I dont disagree that Material issue penned these exact lyrics but they are taken from a Bread song... Check em out!! Thanks for the comment :)
the bigger question is why ar they both in cop cars... now a days ppl would say that some shit went down n not the time to be singing a love song... lol but in all seriousness highschool me loved this kinda stuff...
@forevermoonlighting Ok, well I gave the Original a listen. I have to be honest. I like this version better. But at least we know who did the original now. Thanks.
the sign at :11explains the whole video!! they were both serial litterers, and then they got caught because someone saw them standing on top of the car and turned them in. and the cops are teasing him saying ' you will never be able to afford a swiming pool after you pay all the fines.
the bread song is "everything i own" "And I will give everything I own, I'll give my life, my heart, my home I will give everything I own Just to have you back again." maybe there is a plagerism issue here. but i think the material issues guy is dead.
I see it as a guy with a underage gf that has been living with him. They got busted and at the end where they split the road he is headed to jail and here back to parents- What do you guys think?
I actually know who this was written for. The songwriter sold the lyrics to Stereofuse...There's a reason my mom almost cries when she listens to this.
The original song came out by Material Issue, written by Jim Ellison in 1992. He took his life 1996. I assure you it wasn't him that sold the lyrics to Stereo Fuse.
I feel this song never got enough credit, I love it!
This is one of my favorite songs to cover at shows, but hardly anyone knows it. Still do it anyway 🤟 So sad because man this one always hit deep with me. Sooo slept on. Long live Stereofuse!!!

This song is just incredible, heard it back in 2003 in Tennesse. Makes me think of summer loves.

Remake or not, they owned this song.

This song came out 20 years ago! It still appeals!
My friend was born on the 14 of July and I use to sing this to her. She passed 2 nights ago.
RIP Crystal Cannon
This song is by StereoFuse. Band members are Colin Hill, Jeff Quay, Rob Clark and Chad Jenkins
There is a acousic version of this song too.
Its a cover song. Written and performed originally by the band Material Issue
can't believe this song only has 207k views. such a under-rated song, fav song for years !
Damn going through some heartbreak and realized I been playing this ballad every time like this since I was 15. Not giving up that my true love is still staring at the moon the same time as I am. Don’t worry babe. We’ll be together someday.
I love this song. Just discovered it today
What happened to these guys? I saw them live years and years ago and they were amazing.
I remember when I first heard this song...December 18, 2002.
Do you still remember when you first heard this song? Lol
@@seanbads LOL, No I didn't, but I see this date and I remember what was happening.
Yeah this song has stuck with me through the marine corps to now so across the world and back...
Am I sick for digging this song so much? I've thought it was one of the best ballads ever since they knocked it out.
Best I ever heard especially the smell of Rose's made her cry great line man.
Written and performed originally by the band Material Issue
@@kevincosgrove948 Just checked it out. There are remakes that should never have been done. This remake is not in that category.
@@ericbartol i like the original. Played a half step higher by Material Issue and harder to sing. Just a great song
Both great songs.. I heard steroe fuses version while on a business trip in Georgia.. took me a year to finally find out who had done it
I think that girl was in an episode of The Shield...
this Is my fav song and version.. they did that!!
Love you Colin
I know the guy that wrote this song. He shared it with a group of musicians in Minneapolis and someone must’ve thought it was worth using......
I've been playing this song on the guitar for the last couple decades and forgot what it sounded like for real
Anyone notice they were riding in State Trooper Vehicles but had on "Deputy Sheriff uniforms"??lol
Mackenzie from The Young & The Restless! ❤💕
I was just thinking is that Mac? Lol
It’s the 14th of July and my wife’s 45th birthday! She doesn’t care for roses too much tho! ♥️
Another act Wind-Up dropped the ball on.
+Eric Von B Yep, Wind-Up didn't really give us much of a chance. The music industry sucks.
Colin Hill if that really is you? Very cool. 👍
I flat out love this song
Junior high days. Thumbs up . If these brings you back to junior high days. Slow dancing to your crush days.
Damn! My comment is here a year ago. Didn't even know. I looked up this song before hahaha
I feel like this and the original material issue version never get enough credit. This version is good but personally to me the original hits better
I'm from Dallas and I very vaguely remember this song circulating around in 2001/2002, but I didn't hear it again until today on Pandora. It's an amazing song...but I'm kind of wondering WTF is going on in the video lol.

@KARBELAEZ Material Issue did the original song in 1991
Happy 14th of July everyone!
the time in my life that hurts the most.........
Love this song ❤
Great song!
great song, I feel like this about my girlfriend.
But were going to break up in one week because i have to go to boot camp and techschool for the airforce.
and would do anything and give everything just to stay with her.
Dude. How’d it turn out ? 12 years. Did you stay in?
Sweet I have been looking for this for years
The only thing I can determine from this video is that they were littering, and they are going to jail, the police car passes a littering sign. XD
keep in mind the song is called everything,, in the video there seperated and upset ,, but they just want to be together. ..
got in a fight, she decides she's better off without him. maybe.
both of my parents were born on the 14th of july =D just throwing that out there! haha amazing song!
It always chokes me up.........................
Their drummer plays Pork Pie Set (and well). Nice!!
@forevermoonlighting
Really I didnt know it was a cover. I will have to check out the original artist. and see what that version sounds like.
This song is amazing!
i almost forgot how great this song was
I concur
My 2nd wife loves this song. It makes me miss her, bad. I love you Rikki
Rikki hates you and is getting railed by my black homie yo!
Aw HELL no! This is weak! Material Issue 4-EVER!!
The guy is sad, so he wants to buy a pool.. but he's girlfriend doesn't want, so they are mad.
@afsnightmare22 LOL... I know the FEELING!!!! LOL. I Thought the song was gonna be a song lost in my memory.
Actually a band from the seventies wrote this song.. Bread was the band and it has been covered many many times.. Even Boy george did a cover of it..
This is not the same song. Material Issue wrote this song in the early 90s and their version is better
14. Juli - the day the French celebrate their independence day, the storming of the Bastille. Is this a coincidince? I wonder.
The lyrical content is a bit different from breads version, but the chord progression and chorus are almost identical.. I dont disagree that Material issue penned these exact lyrics but they are taken from a Bread song... Check em out!! Thanks for the comment :)

i love this song and its a good one
THEY USED TO BE KNOWN AS "LEE HARVEY OSMAND" NOT KIDDING I SAW THEM AT A BAR IN DALLAS
Man is this amazing.
Greatness!
Material Issue wrote this beautiful song. Stereofuse butchered it. Check out the original!
Gee I wonder why are they in the pigs car
and no handcuffs eh?
magnifico song
2021 still here
HOLY SHIT 14 yrs old this song is
3:11 I just got a tingle in my tummy. He's a cutie pie.
Anybody else think the junkyard where they are hanging out with the trailers is the same one Seether used for "Broken"?
Absolute Banger
the bread song is "everything i own"
"And I will give everything I own,
I'll give my life, my heart, my home
I will give everything I own
Just to have you back again."
maybe there is a plagerism issue here.
but i think the material issues guy is dead.
Does anyone remember them as Lee Harvey Osmond?
+vandiggyrox Funny how there is now band in canada with the same name, but yes i had the lee harvey osmond album
See who in Lewiston?
Born on the 14th of July💗
I see it as a guy with a underage gf that has been living with him. They got busted and at the end where they split the road he is headed to jail and here back to parents- What do you guys think?
@KARBELAEZ material issue
@LucyWithFur not country pop friend I seen them in Lewiston Idaho...all rock
how can you listen to seed and allison by them? i cant find it anywhere
@miguelcrrnz who sings the original?????? i'm curious??
I actually know who this was written for. The songwriter sold the lyrics to Stereofuse...There's a reason my mom almost cries when she listens to this.
Dude. There has to be more to this story
It reminds your mom of having you
The original song came out by Material Issue, written by Jim Ellison in 1992. He took his life 1996. I assure you it wasn't him that sold the lyrics to Stereo Fuse.
ya me too. lol. not sure how the lyrics connect to the whole video that takes place in the back of separate cop cars. Swee song still
@miguelcrrnz i'm only asking cause i thought Stereo fuse was the original..
Like clockwork
i dont get teh point when he is singing because he stands liek perfectaly still... so its kind aanoing but other that that i love this song.
I don't know about anyone else, but I like this version as do I like the original.
Mac from Y&R!!!
I think its sorta like they ran away together, then got caught but who knows. This isn't a very explanatory video but the song is still good :)
