In that instance, the vehicle that is turning left would be last to proceed. Because he is turning left he every other vehicles in the different directions would have to wait for him to clear the intersection. Personally 4 way stops make no kind of sense. It just makes understanding much harder to remember the process
@@EnvyTheRealest Thanks for explaining that!, I’ve been driving a lot more recently since i got my permit less then a month ago and this is really the only thing that’s been bothering me it made me feel unprepared and scared if i were to come across one. i hope with this info i can go through them no problem now thanks again! I agree tho pretty weird traffic system but i guess it somewhat works 🤷🏽♂️
This video is wrong in the 2nd example. The driver with no one to their right has the right of way, and so does the driver across from him. They can go at the same time. If there was a dedicated left turn lane they could go at that same time, they would just need to yield to the on coming vehicle and turn after they pass.
Well the example here is actually wrong. In the 2nd example the 2 cars going in opposite directions should go at the same time, then cross traffic, then the original direction and so on. People turning left can go at the same time, they just need to yield to any oncoming vehicle and turn behind them
What if the car on the other side of me across the street and I stop at the same time, and I want to turn right and they want to turn left? Who goes first?
So, on case of a collission ..How do you prove whose at fault ? Seems a recipe for court cases. It seems to mee that the rule in other countries ( Europe, Japan etc) is much better : at an equel jinction , the one coming from the right has priority ! It is much easier in the approach , easier to define responsibility and also fairer( as a cyclist , walker you don't want to negotiate with a car ..)
Rightmost car going first clears the intersection slightly faster than leftmost. See the diagram: Car A only has to cross halfway before the way is clear for Car B, who only has to cross halfway before the way is clear for Car C. If you go leftmost first, each car has to clear the intersection completely before the next can go.
Exactly, this gotta be covered in the video to make the video perfect. If all 4 cars arrive to the intersection at the same time, nobody have the privilege and everyone have to yield. Drivers must decide for themselves and show each other with gestures that they see and would allow another driver to start the chain reaction of clearing the intersection. Just move slowly and figure out as it goes, LoL 😂
Yielding to the left makes more sense to me coming from UK where yielding to the right at roundabouts. The two rules that would make sense: Yield to the left Make left turns wide
@@kattynl what I'm saying is if UK gives way to the right, then USA should give way to the left. I was wondering why the USA is told to give way to the same direction as a country that drives on the opposite side of the road to them. This type of intersection in the UK would be handled either by a priority road and give way signs, or a mini roundabout (imagine a 4 way yield with a painted circle in the centre that you're not supposed to cross unless you can't help it due to vehicle type). Stop signs are used for junctions with poor visibility where you cannot see the road to be joined until you are right on the line! Perhaps there are protruding hedgerows or buildings obscuring the view from further back.
@@TimpBizkit I just got back from driving in the USA and this confused me so much!!! France is the same with give way to the right to confuse it further aha
@@TimpBizkitglad I’ve looked this up as I’m driving in the US in a couple days and would have done exactly what you’ve said. Feels more natural to give way to the left.
POV: you looked this up because some dude on your *left* got pissed at you 😂
literally bro like i know i had the right away non driving ahh people bro
It is me😅
Good advice and explained very simple.
What about for those 4 ways with a left tuning lane aswell?
Simple your fucked 😂

Perfect 👍 i like this explanation
In the 2nd example, the 2 cars going in opposite directions should both have gone at the same time
thank you! That drives me (no pun intended) crazy when all 4 cars go 1 at a time!
100 percent correct you always yield to the car on the right
What do you do if there’s more cars than that all lined up behind each other or if there’s a car at all 4 stop signs?
Exactly! That’s why it’s a shit design and doesn’t keep traffic flowing

First come first go applies counter clockwise
Thank you
What if All 4 Vehicles Arrive at the Same Time?..
The one who reached first have the right to move first then .
The one who sees that this is an «Everybody is waiting for everybody», should carefully start to drive.
There's no real rule buts it's suggested that you let the most aggressive driver go first (one in the a rush) the treat it like a 3 way (I'm 99% sure)
@@chickennugget4034 How do you detect the most aggressive driver?
Aggressivenes shouldn’t be a part of our driving. Being smart should.
@th5841 there's actually a question on the test that asks you how to identify an aggressive or angry driver
Awesome 👍

I can't understand the second one. Anyone who can explain it to me?
Myanmar be like: No thanks we will just floor it up and boom
4 cars arrive at the same time at a 4 way stop wyd?
but what if there are 4 cars

Depends on the country.
In india, all four cars go together without yielding.
@@kattynlIndia sucks
I want to learn this rule 😮
Only one vehicle in the intersection at one time.
no way. At busy intersection that would take all day 1 at a time. Opposing cars should be going at the same time.

The two rules that would make sense:
Yield to the left
Make left turns wide
Hi if you observe, this is for right hand drive cars.. doesn’t apply in UK and India
