Hi everyone all I can say is menopause is tough. I just had to call my Dr. and ask her to up my medication because I'am on the lowest dose possible and have been for the last 4 years. I'am 50 now and haven't had a cycle since I was 46 - my primary put me on HRT 4 years ago because my symptoms were so bad. I felt like I was losing my mind. Anyways, here I'am 4 years later, symptoms are returning again, my hair is so dry, falling out in shower, having night sweats. On top of all that my job is giving me grief to do more can you believe that after 21 years with the company? So I said to myself I will not have a nervous breakdown and will take care of myself during this phase of my life and look for a new job to hell with them. Thank you for all your wonderful advice women need all the help, knowledge and support they can get during this transition in life. It's not easy and that's a fact. God bless all of you on this journey with me.
I take 1 tsp maca root to balance hormone (from Bulk Supplements) in my morning coffee. I blend with vitamix cashews milk, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and a pitted date. Noticeable difference.
I stopped coffee and my nerves and moods are calm - post menopausal me at 60 cant do coffee or alcohol anymore. Love my white clean teeth 😂and calm nerves. Took a while, but SO worth it . Good food good supplements and lots of water ! Thank you for this video ❤️
Hi Tamsen I am 63 and still get the hot flushes and weight gain. I have been taking the supplement DIM 200mg estrogen supplement support since I have been taken off hormone therapy and this seems to help. Thank you for all the information I will try your suggestions. Thank you again from Canada 🇨🇦 😊.

I'm in peri and 6 months into it was really horrible I felt my body was on fire 🔥 literally having hf every 30 mins. But after reading up a bit on it I started taking EPO two in the morning, I also take a good B complex, magnesium at night and ground flaxseed and it has done wonders for me. I may get a hot flash here and there but it's nothing compared to what I had.
Hi Tamsen! Thank you so much for your insightful posts regarding menopause. I stated using black cohosh and it has really helped. It has not been an easy time, and your videos not only educate but validate what I am going through. ❤️😘
I do take an organic tea that has black cohosh , red sage, organic licorice before I go to bed , also added Ashwaganda gummies and Soy Isoflovone supplements So far this is working well for me
I’m trying to get off of progesterone bioidentical as I unknowingly got way too high of levels in my system which gave me anxiety. Things that help keep me balanced and hot flash free. 1. Flaxseeds 2-6 Tbl a day. 2. Estrovera supplement 3. Anna’s Wild Yam Cream 4. Chaste tree 5. No simple sugars as if I eat sweets boom hot flash in the middle of the night! 6. Eating my last meal by 4pm but ideally earlier.
GABA and melatonin before sleep. Then, during the day, two doses of wild yam - 850 MG per day. The wild yam helps with mood. I have hot flashes at night when the weather is warm. The vit e before bed wipes that out
Thank you so much Tamsen for this information because I’m really struggling with my menopause right now. I do have a couple things that you have mentioned already, but I can’t wait to add the other items as well. I’m Very happy that I stumbled onto your page. Thanks again for the information. Hi Tamsen! Found you recently and love what you are sharing. I’m 52 and in menopause after a hysterectomy, I’m on bio identical hormones and they help.
Thank you for this video. The mainstream doctors are not helping women correctly. What doctor do you recommend? I live in Reno and unable to find an educated doctor regarding hormone balancing.
I am in menopause hell! The main thing I have found is cutting out caffeine and sugar, hot flashes disappear when I diligently cut those out of my diet. Intermittent fasting has also been a life saver.
@@rochi_mochi_co every now and then I do drink green tea, but I was an iced tea drinker so this has been really hard giving up everything I love. Hello Ms Tamsen. Love you on Channel 11 here in NY. I'm 57 and sometimes I have my moments (low mood/mild depression). I'm overdue for a Magnesium/epsom salt bath for 20 minutes. I take St John's Wort for my mild depression. I also take Magnesium 500 to 1000mg. I take Red Clover pills to reduce my hot flashes, as opposed to Black Cohosh. Please be careful with the black cohosh. It may be connected to possible liver problems. You're absolutely right about the coffee and the spicy foods, with the hot flashes. Thank you so much for the information.
This assistant the first I have heard about Red Clover! But not the first time I have heard about the Cohosh and liver. Thank you for this. I am going to check out red clover.
@TamsenFadaltv I saw a video that you stated you don’t take testosterone. What do you do to keep your testosterone level where it needs to be? I do pellets currently but thinking of doing something else if possible. I am 47 and perimenopause. Taking progesterone at bedtime. As for now, I do not need to take estrogen. I do 4 strength training days a week and 2 cardio sessions each week. Thanks
I asked my doctor if night sweats are the same as hot flashes and she said “yes” 😮 which confused me tremendously because in my mind they are totally different, besides I’m totally a newbie in regards to this topic 😭 I also asked her if there are any supplements/meds I could take to help and she didn’t recommend anything at all 😡 apparently something “could be prescribed if I had been without a period for a year +” 😮 (not my case) I also requested if a blood test could be done to check my hormones and I was told “no, because you still having periods, it will be a waste of time” (WTF! Anything I asked looking for answers I just bumped into a brick wall 😢😭) I was SO disappointed when I left the doctors office, I’m SO glad I bump into your video *will try your suggestions for sure* wish me luck
Why not try another doctor? Mine heard me having migraines and offered HRT. Either they overprescribe or under. You will know when you find the right one.
@tamsen Fadal - How many capsules of the Black Cohosh Root do you take? Did you ever take Vitamin E or Rhodiola which I have also heard helps with hot flashes? Also, did you ever try a natural progesterone cream?
Great video!! I take the same brand of Black Cohosh. It has not been working for me lately so I'm trying something else. I take black maca root, 1 tablespoon in my smoothie it helps with mood and anxiety, it also helped my hot flashes at one point.
@Tamsen Fadal - Thank you for this video! I have been on a mission for the last couple of years to find a natural remedy for the hot flashes which seems to be the main complaint in this menopause season. You mentioned at the beginning of the video that you are on hormone therapy and Estrogen and Progesterone. I appreciate the transparency and full disclosure. Would you clarify if the supplements that you recommended help get rid of reduce the hot flashes and other menopause symptoms? I have tried so many things that haven't worked and want to try some of the supplements that you suggested but I don't want to go into this with high hopes. I realize that supplements affect each person differently but want to go into this new regimen with a realistic mindset. If these 4 supplements only provided "mild" results and much of the relief came from hormone therapy, then I may consider hormone therapy too. I don't understand much about that. Would you mind doing a video to share that process including what that looks like, side effects, efficacy, significant or little results, etc. I have heard mixed things on it (pros and cons) so I am still researching this out but until then I am going the supplement or cream route. Thanks in advance! :)
Disregard the question about doing a video on HRT. I just happened to scroll down the list of TH-cam search and found your video on this. Yay! Excited to watch it. :)
@lizn9324 I am taking DIM 200mg Estrogen metabolism support ,it hasn't got rid of all the hot flashes but it has helped quite a bit I get it on Amazon. Go
Intermittent fasting. An 8 hour eating window, maybe from 10am until 6pm. Stop eating until breakfast at 10am. Most of that time is during sleep, and you can drink water, non calorie liquids meanwhile. Beetroot juices - perhaps with Celery, Cucumbers, Ginger, Lemon, Apple. Make enough for 2 days, and keep airtight in the fridge. Great for detoxification, digestion, blood tonic, & nutrients. x
If you’re on any supplements check your liver every 3-6 mo.After 2 mo of menopause supplements I did bloodwork to start HRT and I was found with liver/bile damage. Dr knew I am not sick bc all other values were perfect but rather a sudden intake of some poison and she asked me if I am on supplements, bingo!
That's the problem with supplements sometimes... They're hard on the liver. I read somewhere that black cohosh shouldn't be taken for more than a year because of its effects on the liver.
52 & menopausal. I also have psoriatic arthritis. I am so tired at times. I am desperate. I just started taking 1/8 tsp borax for my arthritis and will start taking Nmn with vesteral (the red wine supplement) I will update. I am also on hrt and an antidepressant, these have helped also:) I have included fruits & vegetables. Not alot of processed junk, but I have my moments😊
Good girl Tamsen, you are very into supplements, so am I. You just reminded me to get my Co-q10 for myself, & mainly my daughter ( PWS persons usually have a.less tendency for their bodies to produce Co,q10 then normal people, & is very beneficial for their body. TY Tamsen!
Also I started taking provitilize which did nothing for me. I recently had my gallbladder removed and I wanted to take a probiotic but I don’t think that one worked for me. Can you recommend which probiotic I can take along with all the supplements you recommended please.
im in peri meno and my biggest issue atm is joint pain/achy bones esp sore back and has been knees and hips too.. any natural recommondations ?? im not on HT but worried about bone health.. i used to get heaps of hot flashes but they have currently eased

There is organic hormone replacement therapy pellets made from foods and I'm on it and works great feel better than I did even before i stared menopause one pellet every 4 months if you are not creating hormones you need to replace them just like anything else
I am on evorol Conti patches l take vitamin d with magnesium tablets and turmeric tablets with black cosh for my sore joints l useherbel heat patches 👍❤️
Hello, im 41 and i just had my total hysterectomy with salpingo ooprectomy 3 mos ago, so that makes me surgically menopause...im hoping if you could give me best advice of menopause supplement that you had tried
Hi Vanessa, I have been having migraines myself and I am going through peri myself. What workes for me so far: Acupuncture (approx. 10 sessions x 30mins.ea.), Magnesium supplement. I suggest keeping diary so you know if the migraine is hormonal or perhaps some other reason. Chinese Medicine did wonders for me in terms of migraine and it is worth to try. I hope you feel better soon.
What kind of hormone replacement therapy are you on? Did your doctor give it to you? My doctor says it’s too risky to stay on hrt long term and won’t give it to me.
I did get it from my doctor. I am on the Estradiol Transdermal Patch (change 2x a week) and Progesterone which I take nightly. Elektra Health is a good place for info on HRT as well to talk w a doctor...let me know if this helps...
@@TamsenFadalTV what is the dose of your patches? I saw your videos on TicTok and it was .05. Are you on the same dose? Love your videos! I’m 54 and these last couple of years have been challenging so thank you!😊
I've tried to kick caffeine many times and haven't been totally successful either, but I found that drinking Rasa (a delicious mix of adaptogenic herbs, mushrooms and herbal teas etc) helps keep my energy up without the rush. They even have "dirty" version with coffee that I enjoy because at leas the caffeine level is lower than a regular cup of coffee.
I have been having migraines during my perimenopause. Acupuncture helped me along with magnesium supplement. I also take 1 scoop of Genesis Gold, a supplement developed by a nurse, every morning. This supplement has a lot of nice ingredients which has been helping me with my mood and overall energy. Of course, we can not rely on supplements only. I have been doing gratitude work for my low mood, daily walks for 30-45 mins, started exercise as well. I also reduced my work stress which was the main reason I found myself in perimenopause a bit earlier. We give a lot to the world as ladies. We need to make sure we take care of ourselves more than anything. Hoping everyone a smooth menopause journey ladies!

Great for detoxification, digestion, blood tonic, & nutrients. x
How do you deal with VA/GSM when HRT isnt working? I cant exercise with fire crotch cuz it hurts too much😞😭
Hi what do you recommend for hair loss treatment I put estradiol in my shampoo prescribed and take vital protein in my decaf coffee
How did you come off antidepressants.
Great suggestions as always Tamsen, your videos are so helpful we’re all very grateful ❤️
Thank you so much! Do you take any of these? Or what has worked for you? Would love to know!
Instead of coffee try Dandelion root tea. DANDY blend is yummy.
Sage is great for hot flashes and other menopause symptoms. Make a tea and drink it cold throughout the day.

With my premenopause I have really bad migraines. What can I do for that?
Do you take magnesium
Hi Vanessa, I have been having migraines myself and I am going through peri myself. What workes for me so far: Acupuncture (approx. 10 sessions x 30mins.ea.), Magnesium supplement. I suggest keeping diary so you know if the migraine is hormonal or perhaps some other reason. Chinese Medicine did wonders for me in terms of migraine and it is worth to try. I hope you feel better soon.
Where is the list of supplements? Am I missing it?
My apologies I don't know why they were not on there I just update it below the video for you with links..Thank you!
Love this
I need help mainly with hot flashes and mood swings, mainly irritability and energy. The rest I can deal with... help!! lol

Do you take any natural supplements for menopause that you've found work for you? Would love to know, always adding to my list!
Rhodiola Rosea Root
I've tried to kick caffeine many times and haven't been totally successful either, but I found that drinking Rasa (a delicious mix of adaptogenic herbs, mushrooms and herbal teas etc) helps keep my energy up without the rush. They even have "dirty" version with coffee that I enjoy because at leas the caffeine level is lower than a regular cup of coffee.
@@GraceVerasSealyNurturingGrace oh wow thank you grace. i am going to look for that and try it. i need the energy some days!
No I haven't take anything because I don't know what to do. Thanks for recognising my comment. 😍
What kind of Maca powder?
I have been using Navitas Organic Maca Powder. I love how well it dissolves.
Do we take maca powder in the morning
@@josiealvarez7350 Hi Josie, I take mine around 12noon when I do my first meal/shake of the day! That way I remember easily to add it.
@@TamsenFadalTV Thank you 😍
