Punishing them isn't raising them. Anyone can punish a child. Unless the punishment is judicious, they don't work and make things worse. Raising the kid means, providing a nurturing safe home, mental health support, and financial support. I don't think the Sheriff is doing any of that. Most people who go to jail come out hardened as a criminal, making the situation worse. This Sheriff want to make things worse starting at age 10 versus age 18. Crazy how we treat an embryo better than the average troubled 10 year old.

Also Grand Juries can charge anyone they wish for cause....not just those cases presented. Grand Juries tour the courthouses, jails, etc to make rulings. It is often handled ceremonially by a DA...but they have teeth if they realize it.
We need laws to hold parents just as accountable. I'm tired of children raising children. Parents need to hold their kids accountable at an early age and they will become productive citizens that will benefit the world as a whole.

This is how it starts folks. He has violent tendencies and is already openly threatening public schools, what's more is that he has a "collection" of weapons. If that doesn't tell you all you need to know already. Look at his eyes, straight deadpan and cold even for a kid.

Airsoft and wall hangers are weapons. When I was his age me and my buddies would go out and use our airsoft in a field next to our local church, hell one time my elder brother was able to get a few members of the local police force to come out and do a few matches.

If your 12 year old runs through a fence in their bike the parents pay to fix the fence. That has always been the case.
