      Doing it as a joke wastes valuable law enforcement time and resources that could've been spent tracking down people who are _not_ doing it as a joke. In other words, if you do this as a joke, you are _actively helping_ those who are really planning to do this sort of thing.

      There's a more well known phrase: "If you can't raise your own child, society and the streets will do it for you... the hard way"
      These young upstarts are going to learn the hard way and be in for rude wake up calls on the streets.
      Remember that tv show back then, "Scared Straight" where they take undisciplined children to actual prisons and have them experience the reality of that life of crimes?

    • @joefish4466
      @joefish4466 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

      Punishing them isn't raising them. Anyone can punish a child. Unless the punishment is judicious, they don't work and make things worse. Raising the kid means, providing a nurturing safe home, mental health support, and financial support. I don't think the Sheriff is doing any of that. Most people who go to jail come out hardened as a criminal, making the situation worse. This Sheriff want to make things worse starting at age 10 versus age 18. Crazy how we treat an embryo better than the average troubled 10 year old.

They will never admit that, though, but Media is the one way everybody consumes information no matter who you are for the most part to stay up to date with things. When the media handles reports irresponsibly, or misinforms the public, or misleads intentionally, as they often do, they are then responsible for why many people are the way they are, and think the way they think. While bad parenting is certainly also a major factor, one of the biggest ones, I think media shares a lot of responsibility. They rarely do the right thing these days. It's all about some political agenda in the background, it can't just be an honest reporting of the news in an unbiased fashion and even when it is, they can't do the right things which are tough and may look bad like holding someone younger like this responsible, but it has to be done, you can't go around sending a message that just because you're young you can get away with anything. Way to go Sheriff ! Parents, don’t assume that your kid won’t do anything like this. Talk to them regularly, be involved in their lives, check their computers daily ( you’re paying their bills ), it is your right and responsibility. Show your children love and guidance. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that they will learn everything at school. You don’t want the police showing up at your home to inform you that your kid did something horrible. @metaltek-kp5cs. Parents are responsible for the actions of their minor children. If an 8 year old breaks your neighbors window with a rock the 8 year olds parents pay to replace the window. If your 12 year old runs through a fence in their bike the parents pay to fix the fence. That has always been the case. Now, since the Crumbleys, there is now legal precedent to hold negligent parents criminally responsible for their minor childrens illegal behavior.
      So if you don’t want to actually parent your kids & help them to become responsible & productive adults then you could be in serious trouble too.
