Art is so very subjective and can be so cathartic. Never had I painted until I lost my mother. Less than two months after losing her, my journey began with my artistry. It was my therapy. It was Grace personified in honoring her the only way I knew help with my broken heart. I bid you peace.
I can only speak for myself, but when watching your videos there is never any judgement about the neatness of your desk. If it's tidy or messy, who cares?! You do you. ❤ Put down that burden of judgement, you have enough actual weights to deal with. That isn't one of them. Be kind to yourself, as you would to your friend. Be your own best friend. 💜 Hugs ❤
Thanks Sam ❤️ It becomes an obstacle between me and making art sometimes - I would prefer things to be tidier - but I’m focusing on lowering the bar right to its lowest rung right now. Just being is going to be enough ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing Jackie. I was so sorry to miss the end of our group's last session. For a while I still had sound, even with frozen screen, but even that gave out. Thank you for your care, openness, honesty, and the space you create for us to share and connect.
Thank for sharing your beautifully articulated thoughts and feelings. Be kind to yourself these next several days. I hope that all the positive creativity you put out comes back to you ten-fold. M xx
That was what I needed to hear and I think I may be pulling alll this stuff out that I have been saving and just do something. I am truly sorry for your loss - even if you know it's coming, it still a sorrow-full. Your witness statement said everything. Many blessings. LindaH
I love your spirit and your authenticity. And that you are learning to unapologetically to be yourself, as am I. I’m a rehab therapist and tell my patients, “Slow progress is PROGRESS”. I’ve started reminding myself of that too. ❤❤ You’re doing great girl💪🏻
How moving. Thank you Jackie for your brave expressions of your feelings. I’ve signed up for the once and done workshop on June 14. Can’t wait to find out what I discover.
There exists poetry in your witness writing. (Perhaps a book of the images and the witness writing as a piece of art(?)!!!) The outcome(s) of your sessions for both you and others are a narrative of a life well lived, the good and the not-so-good, examined in the moment and as a result, a point of reflection for others who witness it -- a message that might be challenging for the viewer to solidify in the moment, one that can bring acknowledgment to the chaos surrounding us, by creating an anchor however fleeting. Be well! ❤❤❤ Thank you again for sharing.
thank you for publishing this. i needed to hear it again. i’m sending you an email. let’s “chicago weather” this together as artists and friends and our little workshop community. sending love. ❤
I did a lot of this sort of thing when I had to put my beautiful dog, Gabriel, down last year, and King Shepherd Art Studio was created in his memory.
Aww, losing dogs is awful 😩 I love that you honored him with your studio name 🥰🥰🥰
