Oh Jackie…. It’s Izzy again. I JUST commented on the newer video about your “two bins” of paper. Then I saw this one… I’m telling you! We are kindred spirits! Paper paper paper!!!!!
I want to come over and finish sorting your cupboard out for you. 😂😂😂 Fair play though, it's more organised than a lot I've seen. And I now have cupboard envy. I have lots of drawers and bookcases but they are all in view. That cupboard is so nice, being able to hide everything away.
Omg. You are welcome to help me get organized ANY TIME! ❤️😂😂😂 I have other strengths, but putting collage paper back neatly after I use it is not one of them 🤷♀️🤦♀️🤣
@@jackieschomburgart 🙂 I spelt it wrong though. It's Sypesteyn. BTW...Love your videos. They are very inspirational to me. Thank you for all your sharing!!!!!!!
This has long been popular with scrapbookers as well. I know I saw a video by Ali Edwards at least 12 years ago where she had a bakers rack with pull out trays so she could store in process layouts in each tray. It's a great system if you have the space for it!
Hi, Jackie! This is a great video (and here was no problem with the sound). I love your cabinet. I'm just 5' so I would need a ladder. Probably a great idea - beats the plastic file box I have! Awesome video!! Linda Herron
LOL - I always say the bigger the better plus, I think Ikea sells ladders 🤣🤣🤣 Trust me. I have a lot if stuff too but no room for the cabinet ahhhaha! Take good care!
I am looking for a desktop solution for paper and pads that has nice shelves. I have tubs for mostly everything else but paper is sprawled everywhere taking up my surface. So I need to go higher, but not too high as I am a wheelchair user, which also means no going too low either. I have all sizes of paper from Imperial downwards. Just the middle of your wardrobe with the pull out shelves would be perfect. Oddly I was searching for exactly this kind of storage earlier today, then your video popped up! Thanks!
Hi Lindy! One of the best parts about this Pax cabinet is that it’s completely customizable - you could make all the shelves pull-out shelves, if you’d like! And/or have extra space on top to put bins at the top of your reach, but still out of the way. These particular cabinets are meant to be wardrobes so they are fairly deep - about 22 inches! I can get the majority of my large watercolor pages on the shelves without anything hanging over the edge (the huge sheets on the top of my cabinet in the video are 24” so they hang over, but it’s cheap paper so I don’t mind 😆 So glad this was a timely video for you! Good luck with your search! ❤️❤️❤️
@@jackieschomburgart Thanks. I took a look and I think it could be customisable to a table top unit which would suit me down to the ground. I do not want doors so a little overhang won’t worry me. Thanks for the info, it gives me choices. You look so pleased with your storage!
It took me forever to figure out what would work for me - I didn’t realize it would work so well until we bought others just like it for our basement storage. Once I saw how my art could fit in it, I knew it’d be perfect for my collage papers! 😆
Thanks for verifying that I am “normal” just like you. Everything is a possibility in the form of raw material. All my art stuff is raw material… a work in progress.❤
Thank you so much! That is so thoughtful of you and I’m super chuffed, or super vain if you didn’t do it to accommodate me 😂 ❤️ I will definitely be there tho I’m up looking after my father atm so don’t have my hoard of things with me….just a few essentials 😂 Actually all I’ve really had time and energy to do up here is make collage papers so I should be good!. Great solutions! My craft room is our converted garage and I wish I had a beautifully neat ikea cupboard to hide my mess. I have a paper thingie😂 I can’t remember its name but it is for storing paper and has the pull out shelves which are very helpful…but it’s only about 4 shelves. I also have a 3 draw filing cabinet which is great for my papers as well because I can just flip through them.
Of COURSE I made this video just for you 😉❤️ Isn’t it interesting that we all end up finding a way to organize that works for us? There are so many “right” ways to organize 🤗 Keep on creating!
@jackieschomburg All of my papers now live in freezer gallon bags assorted by color and pattern and live stored in a 66 quart clear tote with a lid so all I have to do is pull the color I am looking for and all my values of the papers in that color are in the freezer bag. Because I have pet birds that fly in my area as I create the lunch tray is a great idea for my wet paints bc otherwise my papers fly everywhere. Thank you for the tour of your drawers and papers
@jackieschomburg OH it is sooo much better now than before bc all the papers were piled on top of one another in 1 large tote and then I would overwhelm not wanting to create,so I took a afternoon placed the papers on my bed and began pulling the freezer bags together placing each by color a d pattern category,it is sooo much better now and I use what I need and it goes right back in the correct bag. I will have to dm a Instagram photo of the tote with the system🙌
Nice insightful video. Having thin shelves is a classic idea for storing papers. I notice you have other shelves to the left of your cupboard, are these for drying? or storage too?. I do lino prints and have (for drying space reasons) ended up putting them both sides on a big magnetic whiteboard at a pinch. The old filing cabinet stores a ton of my finished and stock A4 boards/paper. Interesting to hear from others, appreciate your openness. One big grab box has my collage papers... unsorted can be inspirational too!
Thanks Adam! ❤️ Currently the built-in shelves to the left of the cabinet hold some in-progress panels, from my kids, and my ever-growing collection of art books 😆 I am adding a shelf in there that I’m hoping to use for flattening paper between giant books so I can keep those off the floor. I love the filing cabinet method idea. Sadly, my brain doesn’t work with vertical filing. Anything that goes into a vertical file is instantly forgotten 😂 And I do love a grab bag of collage papers too. You might like the video I’m posting on Sunday - you’ll get to see the chaos of my smaller collage scraps in all their glory ☺️
ahh that’s too tall for my studio but i love it! i’m blessed to have a flat file but everything else my studio is a disaster. i love those bins you’re keeping your gel prints in! are those holding 8x10 sheets of paper? what are the they?

Great cabinet! Thanks for showing us! ❤
Thanks for watching!
Oooooh so envious...but motivated to sort my stash out lol xxx❤😊

Awesome storage solution. I’m the same, I just can’t throw paper away 😃
Thanks! It’s sooooooo hard to part with paper 😆😆😆
I think its Adele Sypestine who gave the food tray storage ideas. 😊
Thanks, Gina - I think you’re right! ❤️

Thanks Linda! Haha - They also make a shorter cabinet that's just over 6 feet tall, if you don't want to keep a ladder handy :)

awesome! but you never showed us what was in that silver zippered bag... i'm picturing some amazing treasures in there. :)
The small silver zippered bag? Let’s go with your ‘amazing treasures’ theory. It’s MUCH more fun than the actual ‘travel headphones’ reality 😂❤️
