When I was growing up my mom would make Salmon Croquettes. I looked forward to those dinners. I'm 66 now and truly appreciate and miss my amazing parents. Thank you for bringing up wonderful memories. Celebrating Resurrection Sunday . He Lives💪🙏💕🐢🐝👏P.S. Delicious recipe 🎉
Thank you for this recipe. I forgot about these salmon patties. I have not eaten them in 65 years. When I was a child, my grandmother made them. I'm going to put them on my grocery list this week. Mmm!
Hello Pam! Im do glad Chef Jeffrey referred us to your channel. I love your teaching Spirit! The salmon croquettes look amazing. So crispy!! Fried to perfection. A side salad sounds good. Thank you for sharing. The creamy potatoes took them up a notch. Must try!!!
Thank you going to make this recipe love seeing your video's make us hungry me,my grandson he love homemade hamburgers he ask me did pam send a video till have a Blessing Easter 🐇🌻
Have you tried them baked? Takes the flavor to another level. I drizzle mine with a little oil on my parchment paper and some on each pattie. I bake them in a 375 degree oven, 7 minutes, turn and bake for 4 or 5 more minutes. Love your channel.😍
The only problem with mackerel is that every brand I've been able to find, the bones aren't nearly as soft as they are in the worst salmon brands. Just gotta make sure to smash them really well.
You’re making me hungry lady those are looking amazing and you gave me a couple tips to use when I make mine the next time you have a blessed day and thank you
Pam, love this recipe. Cant wait to try the potatoes added. you have a beautiful home, and nice, clean cooking equipment. A pleasure to see. thank you!
Pam, I love your channel! I love your upbeat personality & how you share your faith! I also appreciate how you’ll warn us aware of recalls. And your recipes rock!! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise! God bless you & have a wonderful Easter!! 😁
We call them salmon patties and I made them often when my kids were at home, too often lol, they won't let me live it down. They don't like them but hubby and I still make them. Serve them with pinto beans, corn bread, fried potatoes, slaw, sauerkraut and canned beets, good eating.
Tracy here not hubby Dave 😂, I grew up with salmon cakes with fried potatoes 🥔 and onions 🧅 and baked beans 🫘 😋 BTW..Ms. Pam I can’t find your link for your seasoning and do you make any salt free seasoning?
I can't wait to try this with the potatoes. That sounds amazing. I know it smells so good! Mama made this with sliced tomatoes and green onions on the side. Maybe some cucumbers in vinegar. Mama was a East Texas girl.
Just had salmon patties for lunch yesterday. I too add onion and bell pepper. And I can't have salmon patties without pea sauce. That's how my mom always made them, so it was something I grew up with. It's just a basic white sauce (seasoned to your liking) and then adding in some frozen peas and warming them through. Spoon onto salmon patties and enjoy. Delicious.
What a great recipe. I've never thought to make with mashed potatoes and peppers. Also the extra kick of jalapeno flavor. I was thinking they would go well with just a side salad, as they already have some starch from the potato. Reminds me of my childhood . Mom used to make.♥️
Thanks for your version on a family favorite. Asked Mom years back how many cans of salmon she used for meatless Friday salmon patties for the 6 of us. When she said ONE I knew just how talented she was at feeding us on a small budget. Didn't ask any more questions that day. Lol! Have a blessed Easter. Be well, stay safe.
I’ve always added an egg as a binder but had never heard of chilling them before frying to keep them from breaking. Thanks Pam!❤ I also have always preferred mixing in the cornmeal . I use seasoned fish fry. I wanted to compliment you on your method for turning the croquettes! That was a very safe way to turn frying foods and I hope everyone was paying close attention. I’ve been burned a lot! So I know how important this is. I also use the back of the spatula for lowering my foods into the hot oil instead of with my fingers. With the doctors report saying rheumatoid arthritis and neuropathy on top of fibromyalgia safety tips in the kitchen are very helpful ❤thanks again Pam. You truly are a blessing and a mentor to us all💐💐💐
Hello, Mrs Pam looks delicious my beautiful grandmother use to cook these and I am one of those that use shutter knife take skin off and don't use bones in mine thank you so much for memories God bless
I prepare salmon cakes the same way. I always add curry powder or tumeric . I add a tablespoon of lemon juice but will definitely try the jalapeno juice next time❤
Pam,those look soooo good, they do look amazing, love potatoes so l cant wait to try these, thanks for this good recipe,l grew up on Salmoon croquettes still love then.😊
Thank u ms. Pam my gr mother made hers just like this died at age 99 in 2019. U saved me from looking up the recipe among my collections. I just ran across 2 cans cleaning out the pantry. Every month we call it eating out the freezer and pantry b4 going grocery shopping. Guess what’s for dinner 2nite. Thanks again.
Oh my goodness! I’m so happy to stumble upon this video. My grandmother would make these and I for some reason never had opportunity to learn from her how to make them. They was my favorite! Thank you auntie Pam.
Ironically I've been thinking of salmon croquettes the last few days. This is my sign I need to make some. 😂 Salmon is my absolute favorite fish hands down.
Love this. I've always wanted to make salmon croquettes but I've always been intimidated. This recipe looks simple. I'm going to try to make it for breakfast in the morning. Could you do a video deboning the salmon?
They look delicious and you call on salmon croquet I call him salmon cakes and when I say I love salmon cakes, I love them. I used to fix them for me and my mom. God bless her soul and we split them that way all throughout the day and I have you just taught me something like the mashed potato? I never done it with mashed potato and a couple other ingredients that I don’t have not ever so next time I’ll try it you have a blessed day. Love you and God loves you more. 💕🙏🏾💕
Good Blessed Morning Ms.Pam!!!!! You Ma’am are absolutely beautiful!!!! Your love shines through in your videos!!!! Respectfully, as you mentioned salmon patties recipes are different for different people!!!!! I am looking forward to trying yours!!!! Thank you! You Are Fabulous!!!!!❤
Thank you so much for that recipe I'm going to try it this way there's always room to do things just a little different thank you so much appreciate you💯🙏🏽👏
My grandmother used to make salmon patties and would make everyone mad in the house because she had the whole house smelling like fish but they were so good.
Thankyou. I like your take on this recipe. From years of being in a rush I ended up just adding egg and breadcrumbs and pan frying.... You gave me new inspiration to make these right. It looks yummy. ❤
And now I can finally get to my question! I have seen skillets like that. Do you like it? I have thought about getting one. I have a huge get of stainless allclad. I need something non-stick. I'm picky. Of all of the people that I have picked through on the internet, and trust me, I have picked through a lot! You are the only one that looks like you know what you are doing in the kitchen. I hate it when people tell me how to cook! I love it when I ask and they tell me what I want to know. May you be blessed!
Thank you Pam, for all you do. Your food presentation is beautiful and delicious I'm sure. Quick question. I don't fry much so I always wonered what temperature on the stove and the time frame for heating oil for frying? Thank you again 🙏🏾❤
I’ve never seen them done quite this way before. I’m going to try your method. Thanks for another great idea. I usually serve them with peas and rice. Please share your recipe for tartar sauce. Watching from outside Charlotte!
Hi Pam. Thank you for all that do you. Can you advise the product you’re using on your stove to keep grease and other food product from making the stove so messy. It looks like you have a black cover on your stove. Thank you again.
I keep the bones and liquid in for all the nutrients and the crunch. 😋 Sometimes, I put the fish juice in a glass and just drink it with whatever I'm making.
Looks delicious! My childhood favorite was chicken croquettes, that was a thick bechamel as the binder, celery, onions, poultry seasoning, then breaded and fried.....like a big stuffing ball lol
Thanks!
Aaawww thank you so much for your awesome support! I really appreciate it! 🙏🏽❤️
What did you coat them with? Cornmeal?
With rice, and peas!😋
That double spatula flipping method gotta be the safest thing I’ve seen in a long time.
Thank you for this recipe. I forgot about these salmon patties. I have not eaten them in 65 years. When I was a child, my grandmother made them. I'm going to put them on my grocery list this week. Mmm!
Get ready gor sticker shock. Especially the red sockeye, which is by far the best tasting.
Good afternoon, dear girl, it's great to see you up and running, I mean cooking and ❤ baking 😊
Looking nice have to make some

Love your channel.😍
Thank you. I was wondering if you could bake them; I don’t deep fry anything (I think I’m scared). Could you just fry them w/o all that oil?
I bake mines also. Don't want all that grease. Loveme some maple syrup & my mom did rice with the meal
Yummy 😋
Potatoes is a first I’ve ever seen. I’m intrigued.
That's a nice change instead of just eggs
I've always used cracker crumbs. I want to try it now.
@@tboi937 i use potato in mine
I've always kept the bones and skin. I just drain off the liquid. I've even used Mackerel instead of salmon. You could do this with tuna also.
Like Salmon way better than Mackerel is way too Fishy tasting! I do Inc bones and skin also!
The only problem with mackerel is that every brand I've been able to find, the bones aren't nearly as soft as they are in the worst salmon brands. Just gotta make sure to smash them really well.
I do too!
Yep, I just mash them in.
YOU keep that black skin and bones on your salmons although they say the bones has calcium i clean all that off mines
You’re making me hungry lady those are looking amazing and you gave me a couple tips to use when I make mine the next time you have a blessed day and thank you

I don’t have a complete salt free. This is about 7% the link is shopcookingatpamsplace.com
I can't wait to try this with the potatoes. That sounds amazing. I know it smells so good! Mama made this with sliced tomatoes and green onions on the side. Maybe some cucumbers in vinegar. Mama was a East Texas girl.

Hi Pam. We need to leave everything that’s in the canned salmon. That bone is soft cartilage that has good health benefits. Good for our joints.
Yes,but it bothers my teeth even when super fine thanks.
Love your vs of salmon croquettes Mrs Pam ❤ I have everything but a mashed potato 😮
Love your video as usual 😉
Oh my goodness! I’m so happy to stumble upon this video. My grandmother would make these and I for some reason never had opportunity to learn from her how to make them. They was my favorite! Thank you auntie Pam.

A classic! Thanks for sharing, Chef Pam!
Looks delicious 🤤 we always have ours with syrup
I had literally pulled down a can of salmon to make croquettes earlier today! 😊 If there's no rice, it's a 'no dice' for me!
This reminded me of the cooking shows I used to love to watch as a kid🥰 thanks for the recipe!
