Good old Silverstreet, but I honestly think they should just replace it. Why not any get a 2001-130 or something if they’re looking for a good siren? Like now even the solenoids are getting worn out and this thing is just so old. If they really want to keep it then why not and refurbish it completely?
Why replace it when everything is working fine? The only thing thats noticeably wrong besides cosmetics is just the spring in one of the solenoids thats getting worn out. You could find a spring in a hardware store for like 2 dollars to replace it. Theres plenty of parts that fit these still being made by other brands and you could find the parts almost anywhere.
@@SouthCarolinaSirens I just don’t get why they keep such an old siren that’s on it’s last legs. If it is running now, doesn’t mean it would stay that way. A good example why they should replace it is if they were to get a tornado warning and the power is taken out. The thunderbolt has no battery backup so it’s not gonna warn anyone then which is a safety hazard
@@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL Every fire station in Newberry County has a backup generator so when the power goes off everything including the sirens will still work.

Not wearing out at all, it has brand new brushes and everything. Its just the solenoid spring on one of the solenoids is just being stupid sometimes.

Elmira, ON has a STH-10A at the fire dept and their station is equipped with a generator including the down town township office for the Model 5.
