When Ross describes how he knew Miller was going to throw a fastball since he shook his head is one of the coolest and smartest things ever

      Agreed. Amazing insight and storytelling

Miller didn’t seem to realize he wasn’t just shaking off one catcher, he was shaking off two.

I forget where I read this, but I read somewhere a while back that many of the coaches he played under in Cincinnati and LA were amazed at his knowledge of the game and how he was able to pick up on the little things so effortlessly (such as Miller shaking "no" on a slider). He may not have been the best baseball player ever, but he's sure one of the most gifted minds out there when it comes to the little nuances of the game. Can't wait to see him manage the Cubs one day!

I still get choked up when I see clips of the Series. I normally watch games by myself because no one on my wife's side of family cares too much about baseball. But they invited me to watch game 7 on their super size TV so I wouldn't miss anything. (I'd only been home from the hospital for 4 months after almost dying from infections, lost my right leg and eyesight in my right eye). They tried to make a party out of it and I appreciate it, but my nerves were too frayed at this point.
After the 5th, I was just alone in my thoughts (all bad) when I finally realized no one was saying a word. It was like after nearly 20 years of knowing me and teaching Cubs history to them, they could see, they could believe, maybe this team IS truly cursed. I finally had to turn to everyone and say, "if someone doesn't break this silence I think I will truly lose it." Then made a face that made everyone laugh and they started trying to enjoy themselves.
When Grandpa Ross hit that shot, the room erupted. The rest of the game everyone was watching as intense as I was.
When I finally got my permanent prosthetic on my right leg, I had a "tattoo" put on it. It says, I prayed, "God, if you could PLLEEEEASE just let the Cubs win the World Series, I'd gladly give an arm and a leg. God answered "My Son, I'd be glad to do that, and all I need is a leg." I said "DEAL!!!" Below those words is the Cubs 2016 World Series Champions logo.

That's an awesome story. People ask me about the happiest day of my life & without hesitation I say November 2nd, 2016. I have a wife & two kids & I explain that I had to wait about a year for my wedding & 9 months for each of my kids to be born, but I've waited nearly 50 years to see the Cubs win the world series. I too get choked up watching the highlights & every time I see the KB play, Rizzo immediately putting the ball in his back pocket, the celebration on the infield & Joe Buck yelling the Cubs have won the world series, I still have to fight back the tears.

These videos are some of the greatest sports content I've ever seen. I love to see a player's perspective of things, especially when it's produced as well as these videos are. Cubs have the best story in all of sports and I love seeing how every single chapter of that has unfolded.

What is equally amazing is that he didn't accept his catcher's advice when Ross had looked so bad on the first 2 sliders. It's also his best pitch as his fastball is typically only 94 and with no movement. OOPS.

It's so comforting to know that the pre-game involved Mario Kart in the locker room that fateful day. Just shows how relaxed and in the zone they were that the Cubs could pull off that win and still goof off beforehand.
Also it's hilarious to me that the "most replayed" section of the video isn't the home run, it's the Cubs emptying the dugout to celebrate the victory.
