A Palatine, Illinois native, Mike Tauchman grew up a Cubs fan and was looking forward to playing in the iconic rivalry series. I play this catch over and over in my head and I couldn’t believe we won that night
That was such a a great catch. I was going crazy in my living room the minute I saw him catch it.
I was at the game taking a video of the AB. I stopped recording when Burleson hit it. Still kick myself about it lol
He threw me a ball right before he made that catch. I still have it sitting in my room.
I remember watching this game with my dad and we both were just out of our minds during this 9th inning. This is what the cubs cardinals rivalry looks like

I get chills reliving this, too, Adbert!! I watched this game with bated breath. I detest the Cardinals and I live in the St Louis area.i was jumping up and down screaming and clapping , scaring my dog to death, when Tauchman caught that ball. Wow! Incredible!!! For days I was smiling BIG and repeating to all Cardinals fans I saw, "Did you see that Tauchman catch?!!! Love my Cubs!

I was on vacation in Vietnam when this happened. I woke up that morning and turned on the game on my phone. All I remember is seeing that catch, and the fact that the Cubs were in the middle of a winning streak. The whole time that I was in Vietnam, the Cubs won every game.
