Nice playing. One thing that love about the original is the contrast from his apparent desperation in the beginning- "Please!.." to the more calm and stoic second verse delivery "Now..." That is missing from the version and I think is important to capture the emotion of the song. Your delivery is the about the same between the verses.
Cheers Chris, I just did it how I felt like it, not trying to channel Nick in any way. You're welcome to play it that way yourself :)

Very tight cover for such a beautiful song. Guitar is consistent throughout and sounds so full. I like the way you sing 'come' and 'sun'. They have a northern tint in how you pronounced them.
May i ask, what is the guitar tuning you use to play this song?

Thanks Chris. I play this one a lot in BEBEBE. Im curious about your picking pattern, which is obscured by the mic - wondering if you have ever tabbed it out? Is it a known NIck Drake pattern?
There is lterally no two tabs the same on this song and it seems to be a mystery of the universe how to play the bit at 0:05 - no one does it correctly. Incredibly curious how you do it. Is there a tab out there?
Hey It is BEBEBE indeed, I just listened to Nicks recording and managed to figure out a way in which it sounds similar? I didn't really think about it much as I don't want to do exactly what he does, sorry if this doesn't help much x
@@ChrisBrainMusic I actually prefer this to the record...would love a tab. Can you give me a hint which string is the drone note between the pinched descending notes? I was using the 4th string, but then awkwardly switching to the 3rd halfway through, then back to the 4th again. The popular tab here used the 1st string high e. Can't seem to figure out by ear what's going on, but I do like the low version you do better.
