    Just done this job. Part came from Amazon yesterday. I removed the door handle and took the latch and handle out together having unplugged the latch and taken the bolt out of the bottom of the window guide. The hardest part was disconnecting the wires from the door card. Took 2 hrs and a cup of tea. Yay!

    G'day mate, I'm a mechanic from Australia and had to do one today but instead of searching for all the hidden covers for the bolts I always just TH-cam it so i know exactly since iv had to do thousands of different models. I appreciated the hell out of you just showing the bolts where they were and not much talking till later. Half the time I have to skip forward and try find where the section I'm upto. Your video was very direct to the point and I loved it

    Outstanding! watched other videos of them trying work through the door holes, and then instead followed yours and it was dead simple. Has saved me $$$ and working perfectly after replacement, thanks very much!

    Excellent video, I've just changed the R/H Front door lock/latch on my 2014 Evoque Dynamic following instructions with this video, the difference with my lock/latch mechanism is it's a double lock so there are two cables on the inside to disconnect, not easy but if you remove the plastic cover held on with a single screw it's easier, not really sure about the function of said plastic cover.

    Hey man, good video, it's nice to see clear information, it's how I do my videos on my channel. The little metal tab issue with it being slightly bent and not pushing the white actuator was the same issue that I had on my other Range rovers being the l322 and the l320 Range Rover Sport. It is a very common issue with Range rovers, I have just bought an Evoque yesterday and both my front doors are playing up with the locks. But first what I'm going to try and do is reach in with a screwdriver and try and bend that little metal tab so that the gap closes up it may work and save having to remove the actuator and replace as you did. I will let you know and probably do a video to help explain on my channel. Thanks GrooveOn

    I note that the 3 screws securing the front left lock to the door on a 2017 model we have here are tamper proof type. Check that you have the right tool before you remove the door card as getting that far and then not being able to remove the lock assembly might turn the air blue!

    Hi..thanks for the video.. I was told the non genuine replacement part may have problems being recognised by the car? Does it have to be a specific part for keyless start evoques? Thanks

    • @FIXitBUILDitGARAGE
      @FIXitBUILDitGARAGE  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, been ok with the non genuine types personally, just buy a good reproduction, from a company that has good feedback and lots of different products, mine came in branded boxes - stay away from ones in plastic bags and no branding

    Hi, I have the same issue with my rear passenger side. I've ordered the part and waiting for it to arrive. I notice on your video you have been detaching cable with the lock outside of the door (one with yellow clip) where other videos show messing through the latch hole? How have you done this? Cheers MIB

    • @FIXitBUILDitGARAGE
      @FIXitBUILDitGARAGE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I have not had to replace the rear ones (yet) on the front as you can see there is plenty of play to pull it out and remove it, however not sure on the rear sorry - i personally would place and in and try and just remove it, pull up clip, twist and pull... worked on many cars with these clips, once you do one, can do it without seeing it.

    • @mib150
      @mib150 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your reply.
      I ended up taking the door handle off (no big issue)
      The whole assembly could be removed by lowering inside the door and under the retaining brace.
      It was good to have it all out as you can see how the clips work.
      Mine is a 2016 car.
      Thanks again

    Also if you buy one off ebay and fit it you self , if I goes faulty under warranty then forget it , they stitch you up by saying they want to to see the receipt for its fitting by a qualified mechanic or garage, in the end I had kept the old JLR door lock and swapped the motors out of the cheap copy into the JLR unit (exactly the same motors) and re fitted it all perfect again.

    • @FIXitBUILDitGARAGE
      @FIXitBUILDitGARAGE  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ok video. Old mechanism does not just pull out the way your video makes it seem. I found this overall to be less than useful aside from just showing how many screws need to come out.

    Hi. I have a Range Rover Sport and when I lock the car with the remote control, all doors do lock except the driver's door. The driver's door will lock after 30 seconds. Does anybody knows if this has anything to do with the remote programming or there is a fault with the door lock. Your thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks

    I have the same problem with my 2013 RR Evoque. The driver door does exactly what yours is doing...to open, I have to open it manually from the passenger's door and it's very frustrating. This cars are very expensive to have such crap security systems... that's prone to fail anytime. Everytime I park the car have to look each door manually, otherwise the car would remain unlocked in public areas the whole day/overnight. I wish it was just ordinary/ traditional locking system than these keyless crap system. I'm very disappointed.

    Did my passenger door one yesterday. Forgot to connect the actuator to the power plug!!!!!
    Got to take it all apart again and plug it in. Straight forward job compared to taking the actuator out and in!! Fuck, that was a ball ache, connecting the two steel cables to the actuator. 🙄
