Hi, thank you for your very informative video, I certainly couldn't have done it without it! another tip for those who are going to start this job: I also had a lot of trouble with the top cable, I eventually removed the plastic protective cap (which is fastened with a one screw), this made it much easier to get the cables loose, also the second. Whwn done you simply replace the cap.

Thanks for this video, I replaced mine yesterday, I didn't have a hook for the clips so just used finger power, OMG what a nightmare with that top clip. I even had trouble putting in the door card at the top of the door. Any road up all works now cheers buddy. P.S If you ever do the boot hatch remove and replace to get it to realign properly PLEASE do a video. Thanks

How come you didn’t remove the handle as many say it makes it easier to remove the cables and put them back on?

I did this job today on my Evoque and I did exactly this!! It eliminated the finicky job of attaching the cables while inside the door completely and I was done in 15 minutes or so. The handle is just two screws to remove. But darnit I just realized I forgot to put back the black plastic cover that attaches to the lock mechanism.

I have never seen one stop the window from working, that sounds like maybe the electrics are not getting into the door - the lights on the door still working?
