The video microphones used on this recording are superb. I can hear the leather in his shoes not to mention the bleed through from the other presentation rooms. Now that's detail. Great system. Can't imagine a room large enough to hold it all in most homes. Big budget toys for big budget boys.....and girls.

Great work Terry again, normally listening to a system on youtube is fairly pointless because of the quality, but you are the only one who actually records in good enough quality and tells the listener/watcher to use a decent system to get a sense of the review equipment.

    Yes, the demonstration is impressive...
But when I hear demonstrations like this and I read the comments, I wonder how many audiophiles get to hear music played by real acoustic instruments in settings where no amplification is needed... in other words where they can hear the natural sound of non amplified instruments.
I live in a small Italian hillside town and I get to hear such concerts all the time.
That's the standard by which I judge the performance of my stereo system.
Even if I had the money to pay for a system like the one demonstrated here, I wouldn't want it.

    • @PursuitPerfectSystem
      @PursuitPerfectSystem  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

If your hearing acoustic instruments that are amplified by the rooms acoustics then are you really hearing a non amplified instrument. Instruments indoors sound totally different to outdoors so which is natural ?

      @@PursuitPerfectSystem Both are real...
instruments doing what they do in the setting in which they find themselves...
      without any artificial enhancement.
My neighbor is a music professor and a concert pianist. On occasion he has invited some of us in to hear pieces that he has prepared for a concert. His baby grand piano sits in a small room (so small that only about 6 people can sit comfortably), with hard wall surfaces and no acoustic treatment to attenuate the sound.
That is the loudest that I have ever heard a piano being played.
One time I was in the fast food mart in the Denver airport. It is a very big wide open area. There was a man singing and playing the same baby grand that my friend has. His voice was amplified, but the piano wasn't. In that setting the piano sounded rather small... even when I sat only 4 tables away from it.
My pianist neighbor came to hear my stereo. He was reluctant to do so because he knows that the piano is a very difficult instrument to accurately reproduce on a stereo system and he was afraid that if he gave me his honest opinion he would disappoint me. I assured him that it was his honest opinion that I wanted.
      He came.
I played several solo piano tracks. He was blown away. He sat there and explained to us what the pianist was doing with the pedals.
Then I played quite a number of tracks that involved more instruments... ensembles, orchestra, jazz trios, etc.
At the end, before he left, he said, "You know? When you go to a concert you must be a little disappointed with the sound."
He was referring to room acoustics issues that can compromise the sound quality. We had discussed this after a concert that we had attended together.
My son-in-law is a professional musician he plays in 3 groups in the US. One of his instruments is the standup bass. I wanted his opinion. I played 3 or 4 tracks featuring solo bass fiddle. He told that what he was hearing sounded exactly like a bass fiddle. The I said, "But wouldn't the sound of a real bass fiddle sound bigger than what we are hearing here?" He answered, "No it wouldn't. As a matter of fact, the only thing that makes me think that there isn't a bass fiddle in this room is that I am not hearing the acoustics of this room. I am hearing the acoustics of the room in which it was recorded."
That was good enough for me.
And I assure that the size of the sound of that bass fiddle was nowhere near as big as the sound of a bass fiddle that the system you are demonstrating in this video would produce.
But to him the bass fiddle he heard from my stereo sounded as big as his actual bass fiddle.
And that's what I look for... instruments that sound like themselves with respect to timbre and size/scale.
Please know that I have played several instruments in my life... none of them electric.
For ten years made a living teaching and playing classical guitar.

The thing with ultra high end audio, just like everything else, after a certain price point it's not just about performance but also R&D, build quality, innovation and exotic materials. This is why a Pagani sells for millions whereas a Nissan that may offer similar performance, would be a fraction of that.

@@PursuitPerfectSystem To be honest im not a big fan of active speakers, you dont put amps in vibration speakers,it will effect the sound, right? But,but, but its sounds good,no bassy sound, just normal sound, balanced sound so to speak.

I can’t believe how good my I-phone 6 sounds. Who needs a Gryphon system when my phone can play it just as good.

Maybe try using a better playback system and get a bit closer to the sound quality in the video - btw this is about the 10th time this week the same smart comment has been made so its not you being smart really. In fact I always look at it like - would you listen to any type of audio recording on your phone speakers thinking you know anything about that recording and what it can tell you of course you wouldn't, yet people think just because this is TH-cam someone wont have done a professional job with their audio recordings - well I do and they can tell you a lot if you give them the respect they are worth.

I'm sure this sounds great but the 4 tower system makes no sense. Placing bass towers outside of the mid/tweeter tower must surely mess up the dispersion/imaging of the latter? Bass being much less directional would surely be better off placed in low height "bins" out of the way of the axis of the mids/tweeters? I can't help feeling this setup is a bit style over function.

As amazing as it all sounds, I wouldn't want those monstrous towers anywhere near my home. I'll take Kef Reference 5 and Griffon Diablo 300 anyday of the week for a fraction of the cost.
