@LOVE (Loyalty Optimism Versatility Erudition) he didn't want to get old, he said there was nothing worse than old men on stage and he said in one interview that we would die by his own hands 🤷
It's gonna be a LONG story It's gonna be HARD to tell Hahaha this guy always makes me laugh, smile and feel all the Negative & appreciate it more than I already do. R.I P. Green Man 💚
Peter became a Christian and we love him so much ! I been a fan for a long time and yes we need sometimes experience the dark times to become complete light
My gosh ppl, the interview was all in fun I'm sure. Try putting yourselves in his shoes, hardly anybody wants to be in a damn interview, being asked the same questions over and over again, suffering through the same dumb innuendo all the time. It's great he is having some levity with it, and she's responding to it. It just showcases how awesome he really was. Just sit back and enjoy it and raise your glass to him for giving you all that wonderful music. R.I.P Peter, you are sorely missed. BTW, an album of un-released shit would be absolutely awesome right about now.
"Next up, *Rammsteen*, Enjoy." Peter: "RAMMSTEIN!!!" I think he did that to correct her bad pronunciation. Lol. She was giggling like a groupie throughout the whole thing, it was cute. Look at how she replied when he asked her to marry him. XD
I've never seen this interview,I love finding Type O- stuff that I've never seen. They are my favorite band & will always be my favorite band! Theirs fans & then theirs me,I'm such a die hard fan it makes me sick actually lol. Thanks a lot Peter Ratajczyk & Type O you bunch of Brooklyn New York immigrants.
4:16 Poor Juliya had to go there and Peter just went with it. Peter, ever the master of sarcasm. RIP Pete! I really miss "Uranium", Juliya was the perfect metal host. One of the best ever!
Ahh damn I miss this dude, he really should have done stand up comedy, he's one funny and sharp-witted guy. It's been said a million times and I will say it the oner millionth one. Rest in Peace Green man, perhaps one day we'll meet.
True Story: 2007, my old roomie/friends' band was on tour with Type-O. I went to one of the shows, and I got there late. So I'm in the back of the club, park, and finish my smoke, and I see Peter on this little deck, by the back door, his back to me. And it seemed like he was with someone. Hard to tell cause the dude is monstrous(duh!) So I call to him "Yo, Pete!" or whateverthefuck, Right? He turns to me, and I give him a wave and a "What's up?" Well, he can't give a wave and a reply back, but just a nod of his head. The reason why is he's holding an oxygen mask to his face, and the other person (come to find out later) was a nurse, taking his blood pressure. Now check this out: He had a collapsed lung, or partially collapsed lung(I can't remember) so he was getting oxygen and checked out between songs to make sure he didn't, you know, DIE, or anything! lol Anyway, hardcore motherfucker, for real! Nice guy too! (...and the band was Brand New Sin...he appeared on their album 'Tequila' & did guest vocals on a song called "Reaper Man" which was beyond COOL to say the least!...RIP brother) \m/💀\m/
Wow! That's an intense anecdote. Thanks for sharing. Someone needs to compile stories of him while he was in prison. You know there's an interesting part of his life that never really gets talked about. RIP Pete
this interview was incredible; and what a time capsule this was of the sort of character the 90's was. After watching this, I'm more upset than ever that I never got a chance to meet Peter in person. Been listening to Type O's music for years, was devastated by his passing, but watching this makes me miss that maniac so much more
The 90's was so awesome to me & i have very fond memories of the 90's. I think the 90's was the last era for actually making good music lol. The 2,000's was so fucked up with music & thank God these metal bands are making comebacks or i guess some not really making comebacks but just getting bigger because they should be like Megadeth,Black Label Society,Iron Maiden,Exodus,Newsted,& some of these newer bands are finally taking some lessons from these older bands on how it's done.
i remember this interview after the Headbangers Ball show on a Saturday evening! hope someday someone will upload the complete uncut version of this program if available. thanks so much "mrbriefcaseMUSIC" for uploading ur version, cheers!
Typical Nu Yawkers ! Pete and Juliya are both from Brooklyn and are actually from the same neighborhood in Brooklyn. The attitude they show in this interview towards one another is just pure 100% Brooklyn Attitude. Nothing serious, Just that is the way they get down as friends. Pete liked to play the big moody asshole in front of the camera but off camera Pete was a real friend to everyone he ever knew personally. And from what I read on his family's blog sight For the Love of Pete, Pete was a gentle with a few rough edges giant who lived life and played jokes to the maximum and also loved to scare the shit out of everybody by making vocal horror noises that made your skin crawl and your nerves fray to the ends of sanity. Juliya has even said that Pete hung out at her place alot.
Why do people keep accusing Peter of being a Nazi 😭😭 I’m so confused he seems like a really really solid dude along with Kenny, josh, and Johnny and Sal
because of his song der untermensche and the pics of him doing the nazi salute. Tbh I think it’s just bc bands like type o in the 90s always used nazi stuff for shocking people and type o is all about “shocking” people so they could get more sales and what not. Like the playboy magazine.
I never noticed his Brooklyn accent. Probably because I'm still new to their music despite listening to it for years (if that makes sense) and I haven't spent much time watching interviews like this. You don't hear an accent in his haunting lyrics lol
I wish he would have asked me....🤘😍💜😈😘 He's so perfect, tall, sexy, muscular, that deep voice, those teeth (fangs) LoL 😂OMG!!!!! Heaven sent.. hopefully he returned!!!! RIP PETER!!!!!!
I think in NY TV at that time was "High Octane" hosted by Sofia Coppola it was late night public access. Interviews with artists and musicians in the underground music scene. Reminded me of that show.
Agree, but being almost 30 I feel fkn old and decrepit due from not taking care of myself so like, I feel him (wish it was literally 😛). But I think he looks so much better, more handsome during this time of his life than even at the beginning of Type O.
Why didn't they date? She seems like a no nonsense gal who really would have been a good fit for him. Weird question I know but their chemistry was so cute.
She's 20-21 here (Born 1982) - fun to talk to and mess around in an interview for 10 minutes but I can't imagine Peter at age 41 here would want put up with her energy and whatnot in the long run (and early 20s women's plans, "we gotta do this, we gotta do that, travel, etc." vibe because they haven't done anything in their life at this point)
It's from a similarly awesome show (i think her show was eventually called "Uranium", though i'm not sure if this interview predated that title) from a remarkably awesome network called MuchMusic, later "fuse". Think a Canidian version of Mtv but THEY ACTUALLY PLAYED FUCKING MUSIC. And their video hosts were CLEARLY HUGE FANS OF THE MUSIC THEY WERE PLAYING, not merely hired for being hot or blowing the producer. George Strumboulopolis [sic] also hosted a really good show called LOUD.
Seemed more like a platonic friendship. There is no sexual tension. They act like sister and brother so she seems comfortable asking him anything because she knows he’s a nice guy.
it's been like, seven years so you probably know now (and I hope you found it cos it's an amazing song) lol but it was March Of The Pigs by Nine Inch Nails
She asked him ´bout Brooklyn and he gives her a historical Fact. Pete Steele was the best :-).
''Why is it such a BIG deal?''; ''It's gonna be LONG story. It's gonna be HARD to tell''. Hahaha, that's fucking genious.
Love how the lady off-camera busted out laughing.
I always come back to this interview. It's a classic that shows Peter's wit and dry sense of humour, as well as his friendship with Juliya.
I got so sad when he started talking about becoming a old man...
Me too... :(
@LOVE (Loyalty Optimism Versatility Erudition) aww well, he didn't want to get old anyway.
@LOVE (Loyalty Optimism Versatility Erudition) he didn't want to get old, he said there was nothing worse than old men on stage and he said in one interview that we would die by his own hands 🤷
It made me tear up the old man comment and I felt like him and her would have had a beautiful life together with children.
These are my favorite interviews to watch cuz Juliya is literally the only female interviewer who matches Peter's crazy energy haha
They have more together?
It's obvious to me a few people below in the comments don't realize Pete and Juliya were good friends.
Ah. That makes a lot more sense now.. :)
...with benefits, methinks XD
@@theblocksays Fairly obvious.
Bitter enemies. He even challenged her to a duel
"Friends"
I watched this interview when it aired. I thought, "That dude's awesome. I'm getting one of their cds." It was a good decision.
These 2 had a real chemistry. She knew it was all an act, and knew how to feed into it well.
They were great friends actually
@AntiZenithActivist bro 💀
Steele is funnier than most comedians, seems like a cool guy.
I miss him and there will never be another individual like him❤
Trent Reznor is loved by Peter Steele as well
These two definitely knew eachother already and it made the interview so much better. This was hilarious and their chemistry is insane.
Legend has it that Peter's voice was so deep, he had a secret talent of communicating with whales.
Especially if he sings "I am the walrus"
i wouldn't be surprised if i heard that he was the whale Lord
As a land whale.... I can confirm this....
That's inaccurate. So lame joke. Most whale communication is at high pitched frequencies...some so high, only they can hear it. Boom.
@@jjxajg9881 That wasn't a joke per se, it was a *legend.*

Can we just acknowledge that they toured with NIN. Now imagine all three of them.....!!!!!!!!!

Classic Peter. the guy was witty and talented.
Agreed
I fucking love him. Wish I would’ve had the privilege to have met him. Hilarious and grounded. I true loss of a great human being.
He looks fantastic to me. He never got old.
I love Pete's sense of humor hahaha
man it kills me thinking he's gone. wtf
"Intaview Ova" at the end. lol, Brooklyn accent. Love it. RIP, Mr. Ratajczyk.
"I KNOW YOUR FATHER!" Pete had such great humor XD
Peter became a Christian and we love him so much ! I been a fan for a long time and yes we need sometimes experience the dark times to become complete light
He was sober, healthy and working on new material when he died...
My guess it was time to go home 😊
Irony was he called it in "I don't wanna be me".
Happy belated birthday Peter Steel. You Are Still Loved and Missed .
I don't think there is a TON/Pete Steele related video that doesn't have at least 1 comment from you if not multiple lol ;)
