Daryl has such a unique personality: Childlike at times, endearingly goofy at others - all wrapped up in an ethereally beautiful package. She truly was the perfect choice to play Madison.
Knowing how much she was struggling with her autism in interview situations makes it hard to watch. She is so sweet and at the time coming out and saying "I am autistic" just wasn't understood. I give her an incredible amount of credit!

I suppose when Demi Moore became GI Jane in the US army film years later she can just be out of shape not a single muscle toned and have a gut right? We need somebody like you as a consultant for all the superhero movies explaining they can all just look out of shape. Anything to make all the massive chompin chubbies feel better about their 5000 calorie per day lifestyle. So what if the mermaids upper body looks like she has not swam a day in her life.
Rewatching it as an adult, I was surprised by how raunchy this movie is, especially coming from Ron Howard. It's so disgusting in some aspects, it's not possible to watch with family or women friends although the main storyline and the acting is pretty good.
