Its easy. Analyse how "normal" people act and act like them. Thats what i do. Im 19 and i think i mastered the art of acting normal. Laugh when other people laugh. Smile when other people smile. @ “normal” is abstract/subjective. the reality is not everyone has the same neurotype, but we live in a society that is easier for “neurotypicals”. it’s not a disorder, but it can present challenges when dealing with other neurotypes because of differences.
@@jjsiegal1 there’s still ongoing research on autism, but it’s mostly considered a “disorder” because it doesn’t easily function in society through a “neurotypical” lens.
@@jjsiegal1 Basically, what happens with neurotypicals is that there is a pruning, a natural process that removes unnecessary synapses and neural connections from the brain to make it more efficient. It occurs throughout life, but is most pronounced during development. In autists - like myself -this pruning process doesn't happen. The outcome is that we have a unusual sensitivity to input from the environment which our brains have to deal with and we cannot go through any experience on automatic. As to how we cope with the social world, an analogy might be that we are downloaded, at birth - actually this all starts prenatally in the womb - a complicated graphic equalizer to cope with and all the labels are missing and we have to analyse each button and switch and dial to find out which one works what and neurotypicals get a press/play button which makes it a lot easier! That is why we appear socially awkward. We can easily get overwhelmed by unexpected noise, loud noise, bright or flickering lights and crowded environments. We get the world at maximum volume. That also means that we get information from that environment that many dismiss automatically. That can lead to people who are problem solvers who see routes to solutions. People like Temple Grandin for instance. It is very possible that the first flint tools and spears were invented by an Aspie sitting in a cave by themselves because nobody would sit round a camp fire with them.
I love Daryl Hannah! She's definitely been a great actress since the 80s! My favorite movies that she was in are Splash with Tom Hanks, Addams Family Reunion 1998 with Tim Curry (she was Morticia and Tim Curry was Gomez in that movie), and The Little Rascals 1994 she had a small role in that movie.
First time seeing this. Daryl is definitely strange and far from your ordinary, girl next door but how can you not fall in love with her innocence? She still has that little girl giggle and sweetness in her eyes. Such a beautiful quality that she miraculously retained despite being a woman in Hollywood.
