I am not a pilot, but I'm surprised that Chelan didn't make this list, particularly since Tiger Mountain did. Chelan has been one of the world's best spots to fly. epic flights from Chelan Butte to Canada and Idaho, and this year several paraglider pilots flew from Chelan Butte to Stehekin and back.

What about Monroe, Utah? Home if the Red Rocks Fly-In. What about Chelan in Washington? This has been home to many PWC events and is also the location of the first-ever Ozone Chelan Open this year.

Glad to be on the west coast

You didn’t include Santa Barbara, Chelan, wood rat, or either of the western Sierra sites. I love Tollhouse and Dunlap in spring, maybe that’s just because it’s my local sites. But to me they are definitely better than at least one site you mentioned

Wow! you never included my homesite Woodrat Mt. In Southern Oregon. This is one of the most well known and best mountain thermic flying sites in America, the largest paragliding competition is held here every year. And folks come all over the world to fly here.

I didn't know that, man. Sorry to hear that. But is great to let us all know this. I couldn't find this place that you are talking about in the research that I've done. I am going to check it out 👍🏼

It looks awesome... reminds me of Queenstown in New Zealand. Never flew there but it has some similiar characteristics 😋

You included Funston saying that it is withing a few minutes of San Francisco, Nothing is within a few minutes of San Francisco. The traffic there sucks big time, also be careful if you go to the "Dumps" to fly, (near Funston) several visitors have been blown back into power lines, and if not the power lines the residential area behind the ridge. Get a good site intro if considering going there from someone that really knows the place. And keep close watch on your equipment, thieves have been known to walk off with kits.

Thanks man. Very interesting. I was looking for a video like this. A couple of questions. Do they ask you for a Fai license in USA? Do you know if its aloud to paraglide in Yosemite? Cheers man from Argentina. We have a lot of paragliding places here. Specially in the north and near Los Andes mountains.

I have never been asked for my credentials, and No, you may not paraglide in Yosemite, at one time, hang glider pilots could fly there, but as far as I know it is still closed to paragliders.

You can't paraglide from Ft Funston, only HG. Mussel Rock, just South of Funston on the same cliff band, is where PG's launch.

Unfortunately not, sorry man. I think it's pretty easy to find them tho... just google or go on reddit. You'll find there for sure everything you want to know. I live in Germany, so I don't have contact to the US paragliding scene 🙂
