Thanks. Don't get the arrow can, get the SC Project one separately, see later videos. Learnt the hard way! If you have any questions on the Tiger 1050, I recommend tiger1050.com forum :)
Always a little awkward on the first ride. We've bonded now and the Tiger really lives up to its name, might have a bit of a rep as the "old mans" bike but really it's a secret sports bike at heart ;-)
Nice! Welcome to the three-legged club. I don't think any of those adjustments will be difficult. Also, an impressive stop. And that was the A38 Langford road? I used to be on that all the time (but would turn up Burrington Combe then B3114, B3139 to home
Awesome mate, just don't go doing that ABS thing too much. I eeeked!! out loud. The dash looks exactly like my 2014 and the fuel remailing should just be on the left bar rocker switch. I haven't got used to the sequence of odo/trip/miles/aveagemiles/time etc yet so have to keep cycling it. Also, I'm not sure what to do about the OEM screen as I get niose from it but no buffeting like I did on the test bike that had a taller screen. Maybe one of those ugly deflectors...
Yeh, reading the manual I'm a numpty, didn't read the manual. I've ordered the smoked extra tall MRA screen with spoiler, I don't get any buffeting with the low stock but the wind noise is full on, no chance of hearing the engine with the quiet arrow above 40mph.
Hey Kev, Thanks. Cheers. It's a beautiful machine. I use a Drift HD Ghost (not the new S) and the Drift HD Ghost microphone. Pretty easy to replicate! I bought from actioncameras.co.uk and if you look at more popular vloggers like BaronVonGrumble he has a discount code ;) Phil
Nice bike Phil, there seems to be so many people going for the Triumphs this year, not that I blame them, alot of people buying white bikes as well, good ride buddy, RSMF.
Yes, pretty heavy but when I test rode the Versys 1000 that was even worse, made worse by non adjustable levers by default, at least with the tiger sport I can move the lever closer to the bar :p
Morning.. so can you tell me what you essentail tweaks are? I am picking one up on Tuesday... I ahvent ridden one yet.. Had a sprint.. Loved the engine and the bike but wanted something more upright.. this is it.. I hope.. So what have you learned that I can gain from you?? Screen? anything else?? Hope you dont mind... Keith
Don't bother with the touring screen or comfort seat. Both are hopeless. Essentials: chain oiler (e.g. scottoiler), centre stand and crash protection. I went for the engine bars but on reflection I think the R&G stuff would keep the bike looking sportier. Nice to haves: heated grips, hand guards and a better screen (palmer products or madstrad work best but MRA x-creen you see in later videos looks nicest, cleans up airflow but not silent like mastrad/palmer)
I think I figured out why you couldn't reply to me, hopefully anyway... shame the baffle is welded in, that's just pure evil. I wish I had a more quiet exhaust on my bike, it's too loud but putting the baffle in the exhaust makes it run like crap as it's set up for a straight through exhaust.
Hi Phil, good vids. We've got the same bike! My impressions of my new Tiger Sport are more or less the same as yours. Just wondered what set up you have for the camera & commentary? It's all very clear & decent quality. Look forward to future posts about the Triumph, keep up the good work. Laurie
Hi Laurie, I use a Drift HD Ghost with the Drift HD Ghost Mic. Pretty easy to replicate and does seem to work easily and well. I've got more videos coming of a new screen and other bits :)
Slam me back in my seat! You like things in threes? Me, you, britishbiker mat. Done. All double entendres aside, will you take me for a ride one day? You have some nice looking roads around you.
Oh dear you're doing the "triumph speech" The grunt of a vtwin and a top end of a IL4 it's got character and dat sound, do triumph tell all their customers to make this speech to everyone xD
ok i do so love my daytona.... but i am likkle bit jealous... only a little... a very little bit.... a tiny weeny bit... a very very very ok im going to steal your bike, sorry man has to be done...
I was worried for a second you were going to crash your new bike! The throttle is easily adjusted, sounds lovely :)
Yeh. Manual says you have to take the seat off, remove the fuel tank, etc etc, Yikes! Versys had a few adjusters like the clutch underneath :(
That is one beautiful bike mate, good choice. Wish you health to ride it!
Ace bike sounds great it's the next one for me..
Thanks. Don't get the arrow can, get the SC Project one separately, see later videos. Learnt the hard way!

I got the same ride and it is awesome, congrats!!! besides sounds great with arrow exhaust.
Oh arrow exhausts very nice! Have fun Phil! :D
Tad quiet for my liking :(
gearbox sounds clunky, has it smoothed out after running in?
I thought the arrow pipe it has on would be louder, is there defo no baffle in the end or something?
very nice ride, congrats, lol @ "please dont kill me"
My 2010 suffers from the same throttle play. I have to use great finesse when rolling on power out of a turn.
Bike looks ace mate, grats on the purchase :D And also for not binning it on its first ride out lol, quite the braking job there :P
Always a little awkward on the first ride. We've bonded now and the Tiger really lives up to its name, might have a bit of a rep as the "old mans" bike but really it's a secret sports bike at heart ;-)
Hey great video man bike looks fantastic all the best with it bro enjoy
As smooth as a button WTF!!!!!!!!!!!
Derp. Man flu & intoxicating triple engine is a bad mix. I'd guess I saw going for "smooth as butter" but who knows.

Eh. That was mostly north somerset, the fast bit at the start which the Drift lost *ahem* was the a370 towards western super mare ;-)

Very nice mate.
Yea, I haven't done the Triple Speech..I shall have to drop that into a vid :-)
Yeh, sounds preachy but true after I've tried twin/triple/four, triple wins ;-)
Nice video. Can I ask what camera and microphone set-up you used?
I've had my 2012 se for 13 months from new.....Love it.
Ta. Kev

Hi, do you find that the clutch is quite heavy? I certainly find it heavier than my previous Z1000SX, both have cable operated clutches.
Yes, pretty heavy but when I test rode the Versys 1000 that was even worse, made worse by non adjustable levers by default, at least with the tiger sport I can move the lever closer to the bar :p

3:25 very close
Does it come with a Center stand

Where was this,? looked like Uttoxeter ?
Looks quite a beast. Did you save much with it being a 2013 model?
Tis a beast of an engine. Around £2k ;-)
Nice one. Look forward to seeing more of it.

philjonesuk Great stuff, look forward to keeping up with the new vids.
what kind of mpg are you getting from the new bike?
Not very good MPG I'm guessing. I've only done 70 miles on the bike and as you saw, not very gentle with the throttle ;-)
White is the new black :-)
Well option was red or white, white is obviously the faster colour :p
What is the bike like in heavy traffic and filtering?
+Waltham Hillingdon like any bigger bike I've ridden, the weight and size disappears once you're moving. It's rather nimble. :)
Thank you
