Is it not possible that when you breath in the mouth, you may force the food to go in the wrong direction:: to the lung?

Yes. How have you arrived at the idea that you should breathe into a choking casualty's mouth? Certainly not from the video on which you are commenting.

You do not perform backslaps on a child, only an infant. You do not check after each backslap. The makers of this video need to review AHA guidelines.

Why would a UK first aid instructor need to check American guidelines? Especially when the guidelines are ridiculous. Back slaps are indeed advised on a child in the UK. Furthermore, not checking after each back slap is nothing short of negligent, given that the force of each slap must be considerable to have any chance of success, and if the obstacle has already cleared, every unnecessary slap after that is basically an assault. You MUST check. I train people to support the chin in such a way that one's non-slapping hand will feel anything ejected from the mouth. Common sense, whether written in guidelines or not.
