AEW Dynamite is so hard to watch some weeks that's why i mostly DVR it and watch it the next day because there's nothing outside of the Adam Copeland and Christian Cage storyline and whatever is happening with MJF that keeps me invested to watch the 2-hours of Dynamite every Wednesdays Jim's review are more entertaining.
Why put your DVR though that lol it's not worth the time to watch
A really big thing that hurts AEW is the body of the wrestlers. It makes the show look cheap. I tried watching it on TH-cam last night and the flabby skinny fat bodies of the wrestlers totally downgraded the show. No matter how good of a production, expensive arenas or great presentation, the outta shape wrestlers makes it look like your watching backyard wrestling. Nothing special about it.

AEW is so bad, that my brother was joking with me about how 2 of my favorites (Jericho and Jeff Jarrett) are probably wrestling in a nursing home, and I was too ashamed to say that they were in AEW. He had no idea.
It's like watching Nitro in 1999. Except in 1999 those guys could still go.

There was a time I really liked AEW, but what the hell did it turn into? One minute, Blackpool Combat Club are heels, then they are babyfaces, then back to heel? I thought Kenny was battling Don Callis and all of a sudden he forgot about them and is aiming towards MJF? MJF is feuding with Strong, Bullet Club and Joe? Kenny vs MJF with a shitty build and on free tv? Yeah, I’m done. Thank WWE has improved again with HHH managing creative.
When I saw that ridiculous peanut butter and jelly sandwich segment, I couldn't wait to hear Jim's reaction to it 😂😂. I miss the old Adam Cole from NXT. Back when he was serious.

Been watching AEW since the beginning, recently went ahead and got Impact for 7.99 a month. It's Tony's bullshit behavior, the bad bookings, way too many of these jobber matches. In the meantime, Frankie Kazarian recently did the best match ever on Impact.
So you feel it's a better product so far?

Wasn’t the Phallus Family created to feature Takeshita and turn him into a top contender? You know...beat Omega convincingly and go on to compete against championships with Callis as his shrewd, calculated manager? Maybe Omega gets even in the future after Tak’s been established as a top guy?
Perhaps in a parallel universe, because in this one, he’s become probably the least popular guy in a group that’s starting to feel like AEW’s Dungeon of Doom. Omegamania’s ready to ‘set the bar’ in AEW, and gee, golly, gosh is it gonna run wild on the Callis Family, brother!

Actually, last night's Dynamite is the best one they have had in a while. When I saw the card, I wasn't expecting anything but it turned out to be a really good show.

AEW declaring their matches only start when both men in the ring wouldn't be so bad if more of the people wrestling for AEW actually used the ring. You'd think they were doing a cage match every week, the amount of time they spend outside.

I haven't watched wrestling since attitude era..but i love Cornette's takes on wrestling lol i still know enough to be familiar with what he's talking about but as far as being emotionally invested in wrestling like i was in high school, just not there.

The call back to ROH reminds me that in ROH Adam Cole was supposed to be a play boy. Fine, AEW Adam Cole is loyal to his girlfriend, but he certainly wasn't blabbing about peanut butter sandwiches in ROH. ROH always avoided that bit about wrestlers mysteriously not knowing what was filmed and showed to the audience. Tony Khan should not be booking ROH!
So they are going the Gold Dust route . Problem is Goldy was the villain, and you can't portray homosexual affection as negative in the current climate. Also, Dustin is right there ask him for pointers on how to get this over without doing everything all at once.

Only people who have used it in a wrestling context can truly give valuable tips on getting it over in a wrestling context. And aside from Adrian Adonis, Goldust is probably the most well known queer character in wrestling.
But that would mean them having to ask for advice, something that most of the roster claim they don't need.
In reference to what Jim says that Tazz said. I've seen on WWE that a match doesn't start until both competitors are in the ring, and the bell rings.
I think Jim took it as the bell ringing on its own without the ref calling for it, which it did technically as the ref did the "call for the bell" thing as they were already ringing it, but he probably didn't see him even doing the

I was 12 in 1996. I went to raw twice. 1996 and 1997 in Chicago. I went to WCW Monday Nitro at mgm grand in 1999 in las vegas obviously. Its 2023 im 39 now & went to AEW double or nothing in 2023 at t mobile arena and AEW dynamite, ROH (whatever the ROH weekly show is called), at mgm grand. I can safely say i love wrestling but nothing was like the attitude era. Sorry millenials you missed out!!!!!!

The 2 men in the ring thing has always been true when a fight starts outside the ring. It's not a rule but all wrestling shows will use thar excuse when it fits the narrative. I've heard commentators say it countless times for years. Doesn't make it make sense but they do it.

I saw Billy Corgan on Kurt angles podcast say he can’t stand people who always bash a promotion and criticize a booker and root against other companies, that those fans and people don’t care about the wrestlers . And I thought to myself man, Billy would really hate cornette and most of his fans , cause bashing aew and Tony Kahn is 90% of this podcast ….
Theres a good criticism and bad criticism, alot of what jim and people like my says is good criticism, we want the show to be good not circus acts
