Luv your reaction & I very much agree. I've got to tell you about a magical experience I had one night in the early 70's listening to a radio interview of Ann & Nancy at one of their homes by a personal friend who did his radio show there that night. I couldn't sleep, it was around 2am & I was living in a four-plex with a bunch of hippies. I took my radio to the only empty room in the place & tuned in to it in progress. It was a really laid back friendly conversation about their musical lives. They were sitting at the fireplace & at one point they picked up a couple of acoustics & whipped out a totally impromptu & astonishing version of Dear Prudence by The Beatles. OMG, it was so killer. It was sweet perfection. I recorded it on my cassette radio, but ignorantly didn't copy it before wearing it out after 100 or so playbacks... Wish TG there was a recording of it somewhere so I could listen again. So beautiful.
That does indeed sound like a magical experience. I can envision it now. It would have been neat to have that tape still. Perhaps someone out there recorded it simultaneously. Could it possibly be online.... I have not heard this song they covered, but I'm sure it was a beautiful rendition. Nancy and Ann really are magical forces. Thanks for sharing. What a beautiful memory. ✨️✨️✨️
@AmarissNevae Thanks so much for your kind reply. You've got to give it a listen. Dear Prudence, won't you come out & play. Aw, it's so beautiful. Thanks again.

These Rock legends are a great band to explore. I highly recommend you next react to Heart's "Crazy On You" (Live, 1978). I subscribed in anticipation for your Heart journey as well as the rest of your musical exploration.
I appreciate how well you are prepared for the back story of the bands behind the music. Grea6t choice, this tune was background noise when I was growing up in the 70's.
Hey Amariss, great reaction to an incredible band. No auto tune on Ann's voice that's for sure! She had one of the best voices in music to me. Power and clarity and could convey the emotion of the song. Check out Dog and butterfly and dreamboat Annie for some more of Heart's magic.
I saw them way back in 1977, the same year as this video, touring for their "Little Queen" album. Great show! Another kick ass song from them is "Crazy On You", there's a great version that opens with a long acoustic intro by Nancy from this same time frame.
Song is really about record exec and radio presenters trying to present Ann and Nancy as "lovers" to drum up interest in a concert or as fan-fic to get attention ..... IGNORING the fact that they were SISTERS and both were involved (at the time of writing the song) with different band members. So, the "Barracuda" reference is more down the lines of "dirty snake trying to ambush someone" more than anything else. And also the two sisters basically wrote the song in ONE NIGHT because they were both ticked off at the treatment and were feeling the same way. But one (Ann) took it as a "hate fueled song" while Nancy took the "endure approach", which is why the chorus is about a "deep diving porpoise" (meaning digging deep down to endure the slurs being said JUST for sales)
Thank you. I was trying to decipher what they meant by "porpoise". I love that analogy about diving. 🐬 That's so low of those people to do that to Ann and Nancy! However, it all turned into somewhat of a blessing for Heart and for the listeners who adore this song. 🎼🎼🎼 I am very proud of Nancy and Ann. They are two very impressive women! Thanks for sharing! ✨️
Heart was my first gig, it was the early/mid 80's , a leap year in fact.( feb 29th Newcastle town hall, uk) Ann wilson proposed too all the guy's in the audience, something i'll never forget.
Wow, that's quite a memory. I wish that would have been on film. It would be neat to see her doing so. I wonder what song she did that to or if it was just a spur of a moment kind of thing. Thanks for sharing. ✨️✨️🎼✨️✨️
Hey, Amariss, I'm so glad that you're sampling Heart. They are absolutely legendary -- possibly the first female-fronted rock band to achieve such widespread popular acclaim. Good job on your part to do so much research, including getting to the "heart" of the song. They were definitely dealing with some nastiness. I loved your interpretation of how they chose to handle it. 😊 I would highly recommend you give a listen to "Crazy On You." Go for the longer live version, as you'll be treated to an amazing acoustic-guitar intro from Nancy. Keep up the good work, young lady. ✌️
I loved getting to the "heart" of the song. They truly are legendary. They gave me chills. ✨️ I wish I could listen to other songs sooner, but I'd like to react! I'd love to hear Nancy on acoustic. 💞 I look forward to it. Thank you!✨️ I still remember that you recommended The Rolling Stones. I'll get to them. How did that concert go?✨️ 🌌✨️🌌
@@AmarissNevae The concert was absolutely epic, Amariss. Truly a peak life experience. I was absolutely gobsmacked that Mick Jagger could still strut around the stage like a 20-something. The dude turned 81 the week after the concert! 😲 I really felt as though I was experiencing a time warp for 2-3 hours. Hearing the songs I grew up with played live right before my much older eyes -- and delivered with kick-ass vitality -- was bone-chillingly cool. 😎 When you are ready to sample their epic catalog, I will happily drop you a suggestion or two. Be well, my friend. ✌️
I wish I knew his secret to the fountain of youthful energy. If you ever find out, please let me know! I'm glad you had fun!! I saw a few people in my area wearing their tour shirt! ✨️✨️ Be well, too! 🌻
@@AmarissNevae ... Yeah, I scored one of those shirts for myself. I also found a very artsy visual rendition of the setlist they played that night in Santa Clara. (They tend to vary the song lineup from night to night when touring.) I sent the image to Google Photos and now have a 16x18 in., wall-mounted, canvas print of the artwork up in my bedroom. It's a great keepsake from a great night. 😉
Great Reaction. 🤘😎🤘 Roger Fisher & Steve Fossen founded Heart in 1967. The band became well known throughout the Pacific Northwest. Their original singer left in 1970. Ann Wilson auditioned and they hired her. Mike, Howard and Nancy all joined in 1974. Due to a fallout with Nancy, Roger was voted out of the band in 1979. Steve & Mike left the band in 1982. Howard left in 1995.
Ahhhh. I see. Thank you for clarifying this. I was a tad confused on the chronological order. They made a significant choice when they hired Ann!! Although some of them are no longer with the band, they definitely contributed such greatness! Thanks for sharing. ✨️🌻✨️
Another well taught lesson and reaction 👍🏻 Fun fact : Ann and Nancy invested in Bad Animals Studio in Seattle just as the Grunge Era was starting. Alice in Chains (as well as Soundgarden) recorded there. The sisters became friends with the guys in AIC and were very saddened by Layne Staley’s horrible death.
Wow, that's interesting. I would have loved to hear Layne and Ann singing together. I still get really sad when I think about Layne and his girlfriend. I read more about them. ✨️😔
@@AmarissNevae Ann sang with AIC on the emotional song “Brother”. But it is Jerry singing, not Layne on the studio recording. Layne sang it live with the band though. So sad.
I'll have to check that out! Ann seems so cool. I love how sassy she is in this video/song. Now, she's even cooler after learning about her friendship with AIC. Yeah, Layne's girlfriend was so beautiful. It is sad that they both went through that. 😭😭
@@AmarissNevaeCheck out heart’s song “Barracuda” sung by country star Gretchen Wilson (no relation) for a VH1 award show. She sings it with Alice and Chains band members, and Nancy Wilson. Gretchen is good friends with the Wilson sisters, and they often refer Gretchen Wilson as their third sister. Gretchen Wilson did an incredible job singing Barracuda. I think practically all of us didn’t think anyone could sing it as good as Ann Wilson, but Gretchen accomplished it, to everyone’s amazement. I didn’t even know who Gretchen was until that day she sung “Barracuda.”
I think there is an American all girl rock band called "Plush" which often do covers of Heart songs. They're trying to continue the great rock legacy of Heart for 21st century listeners.
Moriah Formica is the singer of Plush. And she does Barracuda better than anybody outside of Ann Wilson. I generally refuse to listen to another female singer trying to cover Ann. But, I gave Moriah a shot. Because, in a way, she kinda reminded of Ann. Looks wise. Glad I checked her out. She impressed the hell out of me. And, that ain't easy. Not when it comes to Ann Wilson.
@@AmarissNevae She doesn't hit vocals quite like Ann does. But, she's close. Ann is just in a league all her own. One of those singers that are a multi-generational talent. You'll see this for yourself, if you go beyond listening to Heart's more popular songs. The ones that you'll get hundreds of requests for on here. Like Crazy On You, Alone, What About Love, and Stairway To Heaven. All great songs! Don't get me wrong! But, you'll never understand the full scope of Ann's singing ability until you go deeper into their music. They have dozens and dozens of songs that are hidden gems. Songs that were never released to radio. But, should've been. One's that really showcase Ann's vocal abilities. If you do that, you'll walk away knowing NOBODY can touch Ann vocally. And, your favorite songs from Heart will probably be their lesser known songs. Mine are.
@shane8915 I can't wait to dive in and explore their lesser known songs. I believe they all will be just as magical as this song. I also look forward to hearing their more popular songs. I am happy to have been recommended ❤️ HEART ❤️Thank you for sharing! ✨️🎼✨️
Amariss you'd probably be good at ASMR! 😉 Heart is a worthy rabbit hole to go down for sure. IIRC, another genesis of the song was the pressure they felt from the music business, to keep producing hits. Probably their label, record execs, etc being the 'Barracuda'.
Thank you. Maybe I should try ASMR in the future. ✨️ I will react to more of HEART'S songs again. Oh my gosh! I can't imagine having all that pressure placed on them! I'd be so overwhelmed. They really showed everyone! I love their energies. ✨️🌌🎼
That’s actually how I’ve described the main riff- it has a galloping feel. The Wilson sisters should be considered rock royalty. Some of the best women in all of rock ‘n’ roll. They hail from Seattle and knew some of the big ‘90s musicians there. Most of all Alice In Chains- Ann sang guest vocals on 2 songs from their ‘Sap’ EP. And she, Nancy and Layne Staley did a collab on a cover of a Bob Dylan song. Your visual FX are great and are much more advanced than any other reactors I’ve seen.
They are definitely queens or shall I say "little queens". It's so cool that they knew AIC. I will have to listen to these collaborations. I'm guessing Ann and Nancy were musical sisters to AIC. Thank you. I love editing. 💓✨️
One of the heaviest songs of the 70s, still goes harder than most groups. Some favorite female fronted metal bands are Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation, Nightwish, and The Warning.🤘
Thank you. I want to react to more female artists on here. I was recommended Nightwish, Epica, HEART, Within Temptation, 'TIL TUESDAY, and now Lacuna Coil and The Warning. There's so many female bands. How exciting!!! ✨️✨️✨️✨️🔥
@AmarissNevae A Nightwish song to try is Phantom Of The Opera. The song is a duet making the story more compelling. Iron Maiden also has a song called Phantom of The Opera with their first singer Paul. But Maidens Second singer Bruce was the lead singer of the band for the longest I would definitely check out Hallowed Be Thy Name. 🤘🤘
Okay. Thank you. I'll try to do Phantom of the Opera soon. I've read that book years ago. Another person recommended it, too. It's interesting that someone made a song about it, or perhaps it's not. I look forward to hearing it. Thank you. 🌹
Nancy, the blonde sang 2 songs 🎵 that became HUGE HITS in the 80's, or early 90's, but ANN is a powerhouse, great stage presence, THEY BOTH HAVE "IT" They did more than a couple collaborations with ALICE IN CHAINS ⛓️ Them and Jimi Hendrix are the first 2 SEATTLE bands before the "GRUNGE MOVEMENT" killed HAIR METAL
In the Hulu miniseries, "Pam & Tommy", the drummer (played by Sebastian Stan) for Motley Crue, Tommy Lee repeatedly notices the growing popularly of Grunge, and the decline in popularity of his Hair Metal band during the 1990's. Personally, my favorite "Grunge" song and video is "Smells Like Nirvana" by Weird Al Yankovic.
Not a single compliment for the drummer? The dude was absolutely killing it the entire song. Also Ann Wilson is considered one of the greatest female vocalist in rock history. You should try "Alone" next. She sounds amazing in that.
Yes, I said they were all amazing.✨️I do wish I could focus on each person in the band in detail, but then some people would get upset if I talked too much. They all are superb. I'll check that out. Thanks! ✨️✨️✨️✨️
I wasn't sure about you at first...but I kinda like what you are putting down. You should try some of "The Warning" if you loved this you will love them, they are totally rolemodels for young women around the world! Pick any song and TWA will show up!
There's also a '70's rock song called "Hocus Pocus" by a band called "Focus". Its an instrumental rock song not unlike "Frankenstein". And another '70's rock tune is "Smokin' in the Boys Room" by Brownsville Station. And, "Listen to the Music" by The Doobie Brothers. And "Running Back to Saskatoon" by The Guess Who. You probably know the horrible backstory to Barracuda. Yet without that incident, the song would not have been born. Similar to the horrible backstory to "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple. True events inspiring great songs. In 2007 Alice in Chains did a great cover of Barracuda with Gretchen Wilson singing. Also, Nancy Wilson performed as well. More recently in April 2024 Heart performed the song live on TV: "Heart: Barracuda | The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" th-cam.com/video/o7nmDLW2L4U/w-d-xo.html Heart was planning a new World Tour when it was cancelled due to 74yo Ann Wilson's medical issues.
"Focus." I'll have to check them out. These are some interesting bands that you mention! I shall check them out. Yes, I read of the story surrounding this song, and I'm so proud of HEART. It's so empowering! Thank you for recommending them!! 💗 I likely won't react to that song, so I'll listen to it now! Thanks for sharing. I hope that Ann is feeling better. ✨️ .
@@AmarissNevae Hocus Pocus is probably the only rock song in the world with actual Yodeling in it. There are two versions of it. The original album version is 6:42 long, and the shorter version is 3:13 long. I prefer the shorter version myself. Many songs have longer and shorter versions depending on Radio play. Also, other good songs with a Female lead singer is "Sleeping In My Car" by Roxette. And "Its So Easy" by Linda Ronstadt. And "Heartbreaker", and "Love Is A Battlefield" by Pat Benatar. She also did a pretty good cover of "Helter Skelter".
Wow. Thank you. I haven't received recommendations on these female artists yet. I really do like the name " Hocus Pocus." That movie is actually one of my favorites. I look forward to hearing these artists! 💌✨️
If you ever get around to Nightwish, please please start off with TARJA TARUNEN. She is the first singer and personally my favorite of the bunch. Beautiful kitty in the photo. 🐈⬛️❤
@Maidenc90 I prefer Tarja. Amongst the majority of the Nightwish Army, this may be an unpopular opinion. I also suggest HALESTORM and Sirenia with the singer Ailyn. After Ailyn the band went south.
@AmarissNevae Do NOT start off with Ghost Love Score. It's a popular choice for all reactors. Start off with Tarja/ Nightwish. She has solo music, which is also worth a listen.
@AmarissNevae Yeah, music lovers actually don't understand what goes between artist, bands with their managers, record label. The band you reviewed early Grand Funk Railroad was robbed of millions of dollars by their manager. I'm going to send you a link of another great classic Rock band to review. I hope you do a review on it. I'll sent link over I next day or 2
Okay. Sometimes, comments with links don't show up, so please feel free to provide the band name and song in a separate comment just on case that one gets blocked. It's really unfortunate that they did that to Grand Funk Railroad. They didn't deserve that. ✨️✨️✨️
@AmarissNevae 0kay. I'll provide link and exact video you will need. Watch video then determine if you'd like to review it. Either way you choose I'm okay with. I have never seen this band reviewed before & were so good
Ann is singing about their first record company execs at Mushroom Records, which was a small independent label that tried to exploit them w a false narrative of being "incestuous, lesbian lovers."
I'm pleased to hear that they are no longer with that record label. It was truly a low blow, and I'm sure they regret their actions towards Ann and Nancy! 🌌🎼
Ann and Nancy Wilson hail from the Pacific Northwest, Seattle, WA, so they are American born, not Canadian. The band did perform a lot in Vancouver, BC's pubs, and taverns.

I look forward to the next episode
Thank you! 🌸
Hey, Amariss,
I'm so glad that you're sampling Heart. They are absolutely legendary -- possibly the first female-fronted rock band to achieve such widespread popular acclaim.
Good job on your part to do so much research, including getting to the "heart" of the song. They were definitely dealing with some nastiness. I loved your interpretation of how they chose to handle it. 😊
I would highly recommend you give a listen to "Crazy On You." Go for the longer live version, as you'll be treated to an amazing acoustic-guitar intro from Nancy.
Keep up the good work, young lady. ✌️
I loved getting to the "heart" of the song. They truly are legendary. They gave me chills. ✨️
I wish I could listen to other songs sooner, but I'd like to react! I'd love to hear Nancy on acoustic. 💞 I look forward to it. Thank you!✨️
I still remember that you recommended The Rolling Stones. I'll get to them. How did that concert go?✨️
🌌✨️🌌
@@AmarissNevae The concert was absolutely epic, Amariss. Truly a peak life experience. I was absolutely gobsmacked that Mick Jagger could still strut around the stage like a 20-something. The dude turned 81 the week after the concert! 😲
I really felt as though I was experiencing a time warp for 2-3 hours. Hearing the songs I grew up with played live right before my much older eyes -- and delivered with kick-ass vitality -- was bone-chillingly cool. 😎
When you are ready to sample their epic catalog, I will happily drop you a suggestion or two.
Be well, my friend. ✌️
I wish I knew his secret to the fountain of youthful energy. If you ever find out, please let me know! I'm glad you had fun!! I saw a few people in my area wearing their tour shirt! ✨️✨️
Be well, too! 🌻
@@AmarissNevae ... Yeah, I scored one of those shirts for myself. I also found a very artsy visual rendition of the setlist they played that night in Santa Clara. (They tend to vary the song lineup from night to night when touring.)
I sent the image to Google Photos and now have a 16x18 in., wall-mounted, canvas print of the artwork up in my bedroom. It's a great keepsake from a great night. 😉
Where is "your area," by the by?
As well as all the guys in the band great group
They all are amazing.I agree. ✨️
Another well taught lesson and reaction 👍🏻
Fun fact : Ann and Nancy invested in Bad Animals Studio in Seattle just as the Grunge Era was starting.
Okay. I'll check that out. I don't think I'd react to it. So there's no harm in watching it. Thanks! ✨️✨️
The prettiest and cutest music reviwer love the blackboard you dont need AI to be unique
Thank you! I'm just weird and enjoy adding stuff! 💖🔥
@@AmarissNevae dont be so self deprecating
I'll try not to. 💞
I think there is an American all girl rock band called "Plush" which often do covers of Heart songs. They're trying to continue the great rock legacy of Heart for 21st century listeners.
That's amazing of them. I'll check them out!!✨️
Moriah Formica is the singer of Plush.
I looked up Moriah. She's very pretty. Wow, I can't imagine anyone hitting vocals the way Ann does. Thanks for sharing! 💫💫
I will react to more of HEART'S songs again. Oh my gosh! I can't imagine having all that pressure placed on them! I'd be so overwhelmed. They really showed everyone! I love their energies. ✨️🌌🎼
Love the 1971 colour scheme.
Thanks! I always liked the vintage look of things. 💫💌
Nice vibes here 😊 could you do Led Zeppelin, No quarter. I think you’d really like it
Thanks. Okay. I've been recommended a few songs from Led Zeppelin. I'll add it. ✨️🌌
Yes the drummer was great
Yep. He was really fast. ✨️
Thank you. 🌹
Cool reaction. I like your original style. You look and sound exactly like Megan Fox btw
Thank you. I like to enhance my thoughts on to screen. ✨️✨️✨️
@@AmarissNevae You always make interesting observations - things that most people wouldn't pick up on. Good job!
I'm definitely an over analyzer at times. Thank you! ✨️
Nancy, the blonde sang 2 songs 🎵 that became HUGE HITS in the 80's, or early 90's, but ANN is a powerhouse, great stage presence, THEY BOTH HAVE "IT" They did more than a couple collaborations with ALICE IN CHAINS ⛓️
Them and Jimi Hendrix are the first 2 SEATTLE bands before the "GRUNGE MOVEMENT" killed HAIR METAL
There's no need to kill hair metal or grunge. They can coexist.
@@AmarissNevae 😆 🤣 IKR, those were the best days of my life
I bet. It seems so fun!
@@AmarissNevae it was a WHOLE "DIFFERENT WORLD 🌎 " back then
Not a single compliment for the drummer?
I looked them up after your comment. They are soooooooo pretty! Thank you for the recommendation. ✨️🌌✨️
@AmarissNevae Thier fans will literally flood your channel, be prepared!
Start with anything recent, these people will amaze you!
My channel is very hard to find and kinda hidden as I was told by a few people.
I will definitely check them out! Thanks so much. ✨️✨️✨️✨️🌻
It was about a rumor that the sisters are having incestuous relationship so this is their come back song
I can't believe someone would make that up! Thanks! ✨️✨️
More recently in April 2024 Heart performed the song live on TV:
"Heart: Barracuda | The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon"
th-cam.com/video/o7nmDLW2L4U/w-d-xo.html Heart was planning a new World Tour when it was cancelled due to 74yo Ann Wilson's medical issues.
"Focus." I'll have to check them out. These are some interesting bands that you mention! I shall check them out.
Yes, I read of the story surrounding this song, and I'm so proud of HEART. It's so empowering! Thank you for recommending them!! 💗
I likely won't react to that song, so I'll listen to it now! Thanks for sharing. I hope that Ann is feeling better. ✨️
.
I’ve heard it’s about record executives.
If you ever get around to Nightwish, please please start off with TARJA TARUNEN. She is the first singer and personally my favorite of the bunch. Beautiful kitty in the photo. 🐈⬛️❤
I will. Could you please give me some song ideas? Thank you. Yes, she's even more beautiful in real life. 💌
@Moonofwonder1971 All singers Of Nightwish are extremely good in their own way, starting from the beginning is a solid choice.🤘
Song is about their anger towards a record company that made up a bunch of lies about the Wilson sisters.
Well, those sisters definitely achieved and rose above the lies. ✨️
Yes, there also negative media about them, saying they were lesbian lovers.
What a shame, but we got a great song from it! 🎼🎼
Beautiful woman...please do much Karen Carpenter! Youll be very popular!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you! I have never heard of her until now. I image searched her, and she's stunning! ✨️🌸😍
watch them cover Stairway to Heaven at the Hall of Fame, you won't regret it
Thank you. ⛅️✨️🪶
React to Heart - Alone
"Oh well" says it all :( Peace and love from Canada eh :) sorry :)
It was their record company that made up rumors about them
That's a crazy experience. ✨️
I have never seen this band reviewed before & were so good
Well, I can't watch the video beforehand if I'm doing a reaction. The best option is to leave their details. ✨️✨️✨️
TAILS on a predator in the weeds , fictional TALES on their lips.
That makes sense. ✨️✨️✨️
Check out there song Alone, These Dreams
Thanks ✨️
She's singing about the greedy record labels.
She showed them! ✨️
Couple of Canadian sisters singing...amazing- thanks
They are amazing women. 👏
Ann and Nancy Wilson hail from the Pacific Northwest, Seattle, WA, so they are American born, not Canadian. The band did perform a lot in Vancouver, BC's pubs, and taverns.
Thank you for clarifying this. Ann and Nancy are very rare gems. 💎💎

What song(s) by Karen Carpenter do you recommend?
@AmarissNevae Personally, I recommend The Carpenter's "Top of the World" song. And "They Long to be Close to You". And "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft". Karen Carpenter died in 1983 of Anorexia Nervosa at age 32.
Thanks! That's very sad. She was super pretty. I look forward to hearing her voice. 🎤✨️🎼
