    It’s very evident how much time you put into your presentation, with the room you record in and the wardrobe you choose, and you always present yourself well and look lovely. I first heard this song back in my teen years, courtesy of a good buddy of mine who knew about more bands than I did. I used to spend the night over at his parents’ house, and we’d hang out and watch movies and such. Then wake up to his father cooking the biggest, best breakfast I’d ever seen, every time. My friend must’ve had the album, and he played it on his big stereo. After that, I remember we did some skateboarding, or at least tried to. I wasn’t exactly proficient at it. But the whole time we were playing around, this song was going in my head. And my young self thought it just rocked, so it was a great mental soundtrack. Lastly, I think the theme of a man being enraptured by a woman’s beauty is classic, and you’ll find it in many other songs. 🛩️💙🛩️

    My favorite band on the planet! Their live shows were the BEST I'd ever seen!
    YES! Their songwriting, drums, musicianship, harmonies, and Geoff's vocals are off the scale! Geoff's vocals are VERY expressive! He puts a lot of feeling into whatever he's singing about. He has totally spoiled me for other singers. No one measures up to him in my eyes. And if you listen to more of their songs, from the original lineup, you will be even more blown away!
    I believe Geoff wrote the lyrics for this song about his first wife. From the same album, there's another song about love (bittersweet) that is even more poignant, again about Geoff's then wife:
    "ANOTHER RAINY NIGHT". Haunting.
    Each member of this band is a stand-out!

    Queensryche's album just before this (Empire) was their best in my opinion, it's a concept album that tells a whole story like a movie. "Operation Mindcrime" is just a brilliant album and worth checking out. "I Don't Believe in Love" and "Eyes of a Stranger" are the hits from the album but do yourself a favor and after the Reaction Videos check out the entire album, it's an amazing journey. Saw them open for Metallica for their Operation Mindcrime tour nearly 35 years ago. Really loved the band until Chris Degarmo left and an album or 2 later Geoff left. Seemed like Chris was the pulse of the band and obviously Geoff was the voice. Without the 2 they never really attained any real success. The original Queensryche from 1983 to 1997 was the band at their peak... In the 90's, they were actually more popular than Iron Maiden, the heavy metal band that inspired them. Chris De Garmo (guitar) was the main songwriter - he was in a band called The Mob w/ Michael Wilton (guitar), Eddie Jackson (bass) and Scott Rockenfield (drums) in Seattle... They enlisted an operatically-trained singer from a band called Myth - Geoff Tate, who agreed to record a demo or original songs in 1981... The band's name was eventually changed to Queensryche after a song on the demo - 'Queen of the reich'... and Geoff Tate (vocals) joined Queensryche officially in 1983.
    The demo got rave reviews in the UK and Queensryche released the EP 'Queensryche'...signing to UK based EMI Records and making a rather comical sci-fi music video for 'Queen of the reich'.
    Queensryche released their first full album 'The Warning' in 1984 and it was futuristic heavy metal ahead of their time... 2nd album 'Rage for Order' was released in 1986... but record sales were still lagging.
    However, success came w/ the 3rd album 'Operation: Mindcrime'... a concept album depicting a story of murder and tragedy involving a hitman ('Nikki') in Reagan-era America who is employed by a sinister character named Dr. X... and Nikki falls for his contact - a nun named Sister Mary, who is a former prostitute... The album sold platinum in the US as Queensryche opened a massive tour in 1989 for Metallica.
    With Queensryche rising in popularity, guitarist Chris DeGarmo opted to make a radio-friendly album 'Empire' in 1990... 'Jet City Woman' was one of 6 singles from the album (Tate wrote the lyrics about his then-wife, who was a flight attendant), which sold 3x platinum and scored a pop hit single - the ballad 'Silent Lucidity'... Other singles included - 'Best I can' ... 'Empire' ... 'Anybody listening?' ... 'Another rainy night (Without you)'
    On the road, Queensryche headlined the 'Building Empires tour' and performed the entire 'Operation: Mindcrime' album live w/ singer Pamela Moore (who voiced 'Sister Mary' on the album) ...Queensryche also performed on 'MTV Unplugged' in 1992... However, the extensive touring burnt out the band and vocalist Geoff Tate ended up getting divorced.
    After a hiatus, Queensryche recorded and released a dark album of mostly acoustic songs in 1994 - 'Promised Land'... which sold platinum in the US... But the 90's decade was proving hostile for heavy metal bands like Queensryche, so Chris DeGarmo crafted an album that was not metal and stripped down sonically to basic guitar/bass/drums and vocals... 'Hear in the now frontier' was released in 1997 but it failed commercially as their record label EMI folded and Queensryche's tour was cut short. Fans accused Queensryche of catering to the 90's grunge rock scene... Frustrated by the response, guitarist Chris DeGarmo announced that he was leaving the band in 1997.
    Kelly Gray (guitar) replaced Chris DeGarmo briefly for the 1999 album 'Q2K'... but it failed commercially as well... Singer Geoff Tate guided Queensryche in the 2000's but subsequent albums (including a sequel album 'Operation: Mindcrime II' in 2006) were not selling like past records.
    Geoff Tate was fired in 2012 after an altercation w/ band members... Scott Rockenfield (drums) took a leave from Queensryche in 2017 and never returned to the band... Queensryche returned to their heavy metal roots in 2013 w/ new singer Todd LaTorre, who has helped Queensryche rebuild w/ Michael Wilton (guitar) and Eddie Jackson (bass) as the only 2 founding members.

    • @PlacidDragon
      @PlacidDragon วันที่ผ่านมา

      You are wrong. Geoff Tate was not an operatically trained vocalist, he was self taught. He did play in bands throughout his teens, but as a keyboard player, not as a vocalist. His vocal ability came about by "accident".. during a summer he had some friends over that were playing in a band.. their singer got sick, and he just started singing. The band noted how good his voice was, and that was that.
      He noted that while he could sing, he couldn't sing for very long before losing his voice. So he took a couple of classes with Maestro David Kyle to work on technique (he could only afford a couple of classes due to Kyle being very expensive).. and through that he learned endurance.
      A couple of years into playing with Queensryche, Tate took a couple of refresher courses, and a few band members (DeGarmo and Jackson i think) took a couple of classes as they were backing vocalists).
      So yeah.. not trained at ALL :)

    • @sumonjamal1653

      @@PlacidDragon U just contradicted yourself... U said he took classes and vocal lessons but 'not trained at all'...
      Make up ur mind 🤣

    • @PlacidDragon
      @PlacidDragon วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@sumonjamal1653 Not a contradiction, its you that lacks reading comprehension :)
      When he started, he had no training whatsoever. However, he lacked stamina, and would lose his voice after an hour or so of performance. So he got tipped off about a voice coach that he did a few classes with. The breath techniques that these classes taught helped him improve his stamina, and that was that.
      This is a far cry from "trained singer". Tate already had the ability, he just needed some coaching in endurance.

    • @sumonjamal1653
      @sumonjamal1653 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@PlacidDragon What do u think TRAINING is? It's 'coaching'... and from what I read, he took more than "a few classes"... That was how he learned to sing w/ the high registers.
      What do u think a 'contradiction' is? It means u negated the u very point u were arguing - that Geoff Tate was 'not trained' to sing operatically, when he clearly was...
      That was the reason Chris DeGarmo wanted him as the singer of Queensryche, even though he really did not like heavy metal music.

    Amiriss, I think Queensrÿche will become your favorite band if you dive into their songs on their first 6 albums. After the album Promise Land (after Empire) it was pretty much downhill for the band. They became mine in 1988. I saw them a couple of times in concert on the Empire Tour. Unfortunately and ironically, Chris DeGarmo quit being a professional musician, and left the band, to become an airplane pilot. I think it was somewhere early 2000’s. ✈️
    Let me add that Queensrÿche were into the Vampire Chronicles by Ann Rice. Their Rage For Order album contained songs of vampires, but also mixed in science fiction. You should definitely listen to it. The song “London” reminds me of Dracula’s thoughts and feelings, but that’s just my own interpretation.

      Wow, I love Anne Rice. She's one of the first authors I read as a kid. In my first reaction to them, I shared that they reminded me of vampires. 🧛‍♀️🧛‍♂️
      I so look forward to hearing more of them! I love that he randomly became a pilot afterward✈️. Thanks 🧛‍♀️🧛‍♂️✨️🎼🏰

    Agree with others, the original band has the best stuff, with the Operation Mindcrime concept album being their best work and a legendary album and tour. You should do the entire album. Enjoy pretty young lady and Rock On! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶🔥

      @AmarissNevae It will be, they ended up doing a sequel album, extending the story and went out before Geoff Tate left the band and did all of Operation Mindcrime 1 & 2 for an entire tour, I saw it in Albany NY, it was mind blowing! You can see that tour on Mindcrime at the Moore, awesome show. You are a beauty my dear, luv ya!

    Hello luv your honest reactions so far. I would like to suggest a song by FastWay - The World Waits For You. React or not, I just think you'd like it. Not many people consider them anymore so I thought I'd mention them.
